Chapter 14
Another week later Naruto and Sasuke are in semi-formal kimonos as they meet Sakura and Ino at the gates of the Hyuga compound. Sakura is hiding a bit behind her friend but Sasuke sends her a small reassuring smile.
“I can’t believe Hinata’s mom was willing to throw us all a tea party.” Ino gushes. The girl has brought flowers form her family shop and is practically skipping down the walk way.
Personally Sasuke thinks this is more like an informal tea ceremony but keeps the thought to himself.
The whole thing goes great until Yuki-san starts bleeding.
Immediately Sasuke sends Neji to get any adult that close by and he and the others try and get her into a more comfortable position. Not even a minute later the sliding door is slammed open and an older female Hyuga is barking out orders to three others while the children are hustled from the room.
Neji finds the five of them in Hinata's room all confused and nervous.
It isn’t until two hours later that anyone lets them know what happened.
Yuki-san had a miscarriage.

It not long after that Sasuke’s mom comes to pick them all up and take them home. While there walking Sasuke thinks.
What did he change? How did this happen? What would happen to Hinata’s little sister now?
It isn’t until way later that night that he realizes Hanabi was Five years younger than Hinata not three. Yuki-sans miscarriage had happened before as well. It’s just not something that Sasuke of back then would have known about.
Strangely that information doesn’t make him feel any better.

Sasuke and Naruto don’t see Hinata or Neji for three weeks after that, but they do meet up with Ino and Sakura at the park.
One day Ino drags two others behind her as she comes to their meeting spot.
“This is Shikamaru and Choji, my dad made me bring them.” She says in her most stubborn and annoyed voice.
Sasuke greets them casually, and Naruto follows, but a problem arises when they try to decide on a group activity.
Shikamaru wants to cloud watch but Naruto doesn’t want to sit still. Sakura's to shy to come out from behind Ino and Choji doesn’t seem to want to leave Shikamaru.
Eventually Ino takes charge and all of them end up sitting in a circle playing ‘Kunai Kunai Shuriken’ though Sakura calls it ‘Duck Duck Goose’. Shikamaru of course only gets picked twice the whole game and gives a win to Choji and Sakura.
The game stalls once when Naruto tackles Sakura and the young pinkeet skins her knee. Inochi, their babysitter for the day, comes running when the girl starts crying, he puts a bandage around the knee and tells her it’ll feel better in a little bit. Naruto of course is apologizing like his life depends on it and Sasuke tries not to hover over her like Ino is. From the smirk Inochi’s trying to hide when the man looks at him he’s not doing a very good job.
Thirty minutes later they're all back at it.
Sasuke wonders if his younger self of the past was ever this content and happy... he doesn’t think so.
