Thesis

Summary:

You're a first year student in Dalaran and you have only one objective: graduating and becoming a mage.

Prince Kael'thas of Quel'thalas is interested in the thesis you will need to write for it.

Work Text:

It was a calm afternoon. The high spires of the Dalaran were reaching the blue sky, gently looming over the city with their white color, allowing the sun to reflect on them and light up the entire place. As always, the streets were crowded. Inhabitants; Teachers; Students; Workers. They were all moving through, going on with their days, and it was rare to see someone just standing there and doing nothing. After all, if you had the luck to be invited to the magical city, especially if it was to study, it wasn't to hide in a corner until graduation.

And indeed, you were more than ready to show your goodwill and abilities in the magical art to reach that sweet moment where you'll be able to say that you're a full-fledged Mage, even if it was only your first year. One of your upperclassmen had quickly taught you a few tricks to make your study easier, and that one that had stuck the most with you was to get in the good grace of either the teachers, or the Council of Six as they would both talk about whether or not you were deserving of the title of Mage. And thus, you had been doing your best to help left and right, until they would know your name, just like right now, as you were hurrying through the streets, a pile of books hiding your view after you accepted Antonidas' request to fetch them for him, and you quickly regret it. You suddenly feel a bump, and you're thrown back as you hit someone. The books fly around as you lose your balance and feel gravity pulling you, but then, not only do the books suddenly stop moving mid-air — you also feel something grabbing your wrist and preventing you from meeting with the ground.

"Careful," you hear a voice, and you can feel your face becoming red from embarrassment.

Right in front of you, both your savior and the one you ran into, there's a High Elf, with bright blue eyes piercing your soul; long blond hair flowing freely on his back, and a dress with the color of Silvermoon's royalty. The hand not holding you is raised, glowing faintly as he keeps your precious books from the dirt of the paved road, his face calm, yet inexpressive for the moment. He finally pulls on your arm, bringing you back on your two feet and he lets you go.

"I'm really sorry, Prince Kael'thas," you immediately say, bowing to show your respect. "I couldn't see where I was going, it was an accident!"

He glances at you, his hands moving to bring the books in front of him as he reads the titles on the covers, inspecting each of them. You stay silent, waiting for him to say something. Ever since you moved to Dalaran to pursue your study, you had noticed the Elven Prince, a member of the Six, and even if you knew that you could refer to him — even trying to get on his good side for the graduation — you felt intimidated by his presence and it was pretty much the first time you said you many words to him. But it wasn't only intimidation. He seemed out of this world, and just by thinking about him, you could feel flustered — but after talking to other students, you quickly discovered that he had that effect on a lot of students, and not only the students.

"Let me guess, those are for Antonidas, aren't they?"

You vividly nod. The words are stuck in your throat.

Kael'thas quickly moves his hands and soon enough, half of the pile is floating in front of you, and, as you put your hands under it, the spell fades and the books gently fall on your hands and forearms, the size now just enough to allow you to see where you put your feet. The other half of the pile is still floating next to the Prince, but you barely get the time to ask about it that he's already walking towards the Violet Citadel — right where Antonidas is waiting for you. As you don't really move, he looks back toward you.

"I was going there anyway, I'll carry those so you don't run into someone else," he says.

You almost notice a smile on his face, and you can't stop yourself from hurrying to walk to his side. At first, you are both walking in silence and you can't stop yourself from glancing at him — silently admiring him. How the spell seems effortless for him. A prideful smile. The shining eyes. For a moment, you wonder what you would say to your dormmates and if it wouldn't be bragging too much if you were to say that Kael'thas himself helped you carry books. Surely, some of them would be jealous.

"I haven't quite memorized your name yet." His voice breaks the silence between you. "You must be a first-year student in that case."

"Yes, I am," you answer, giving your name at the same time.

"And have you already decided on your thesis?"

Unknowingly, he opened the floodgates and for the rest of your trip at his side, you start talking about that one subject dear to your heart, in which you plan to spend all your studying years working towards it. You always feel confident in it, and suddenly, as Kael'thas just don't let you ramble alone and instead, asks you questions and transforms the monologue into a conversation, you just know that you are on the right path. And you almost forget that you've been talking with the Prince of Quel'thalas all this time.

Finally, you both step in front of the Violet Citadel, and Kael'thas just stop, putting his arm in front of you to make sure that you cannot take one more step, and you just raise an eyebrow at him. Immediately, his hand moves, and the books that he had been carrying for you get on your pile, hiding your view once again but you somehow don't care about it at all.

"Antonidas wouldn't like to see you get help for that task, so I will leave you here," he explains to you.

You expect the Prince to leave right away — transforming that small moment into some kind of dreamy hallucination — but before he does so, he looks back at you and you can see a smile on his face.

"Your thesis' subject is really interesting and I think that I have a few books that could interest you about it." You feel your heart suddenly racing in your chest. "Antonidas will probably send you on another little quest for the rest of the day, so if you are interested in those, you can always join me in my chambers when you have some free time."

A "Thank you" leaves your lips as you mutter it. You won't lie: you're more interested in some private company with the Prince than the books that he could offer, but you would be damned to admit it out loud. Understanding that it is a one and only chance in a lifetime, you quickly enter the building — well decided to give the books to Antonidas and then, finish any other requests he would have for you as fast as possible.

The night was slowly falling on the magical capital, and you raised your head towards the Citadel, the one place where most of the teachers and members of the Six were living — each of them having a few rooms allocated to them to be able to live in peace. Usually, students were forbidden from loitering the place, unless they had been invited by one of the inhabitants of the building or that important matter had to be seen with the teachers, and you just couldn't stop your hands from shaking as you carefully stepped inside. Kael'thas wasn't known to invite people to his quarters — otherwise, you would have already heard people bragging about it — and it was with a racing heart that you climbed the stairs until you would reach the Prince's floor.

Once in front of the main door, you hesitate.

Is it really right to bother the Prince at this hour? Even if he was the one to give the invitation technically? You aren't quite sure, but quickly, you cool your head by telling yourself that you simply came here to have a pleasant conversation about magic, and reading books. Kael'thas' presence would change nothing to that fact and anyway, you were there to study! Constantly being flustered because there was someone more beautiful than the others around you would only bring problems. You had to take it upon yourself and just let it go.

Your hand finally knocks on the door, softly.

In only a few seconds, you hear the door unlocking, and way too soon for your liking, you see it open and Kael'thas appears in the doorframe. His eyes fall on you, and for a moment, he seems disappointed that he had been bothered, but as he recognizes you, his face brightens up and he opens the door wider.

"Ah, it's you. Did Antonidas finally free you?"

He moves from the door, leaving a way for you to enter, and you accept the invitation.

"He did. Even if he wanted to send me on one last fetching quest before I succeeded in convincing him that I would do it tomorrow."

"Classic Antonidas," Kael'thas nodded. "He had quickly spread a rumor that helping him with little tasks was a good way to get him to intervene in your favor for the graduation. But usually, as soon as the students hit the second year, they realize that they're being used and just send the first years to help him instead."

You can't stop yourself from raising an eyebrow at those words.

"So, you mean that I've been doing all of this for nothing?" you ask the Prince.

"Well, Antonidas will judge you on your skills alone, whether you helped him or not during your studies. But the other members of the Council or the teachers might intervene if they have a good opinion of you."

The idea that in the end, you weren't doing all of this for nothing was warming your heart, and obviously, you couldn't stop wondering how to get on Kael'thas good side for your graduation — even if you still had quite some time in front of you for it — but you had the feeling that it was on a good way. After all, he seemed to take a liking to your thesis subject. "If only it had been something else that he had taken a liking to", you can't stop yourself from thinking.

You finally take a better look at the room you've just entered, and it's a simple study room with walls covered in bookshelves, themselves full of books and scrolls. A single table is standing in the middle of the room, with what seemed to be the most comfortable chair that you had ever seen put around it. Magical brooms and other cleaning stuff are dusting the place through magic. Then, you notice the three other doors, probably leading to the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen as those places were meant to be fully functional for someone to live in it most of the year, and as you looked back towards the fourth door — the one leading back to the main building of the Citadel — you ultimately notice that Kael'thas had changed his clothes since you last saw him.

Instead of wearing the royal's dress, proof of his bloodline and enough to intimidate anyone walking across him, he had dressed more casually, with simple pants and a shirt. And yet, despite the simplicity of the clothes, you cannot stop yourself from staring as he is still radiating that royal energy. No matter what he would wear, you have the feeling that he would look beautiful, and you start wondering how many people have gotten the chance to see him like that…

"May I offer you some tea?" he asks you, forcing you out of your thoughts.

"With pleasure," you smile awkwardly, your eyes quickly back on the bookshelves.

"Very well, I will get it. In the meantime, the books I talked about are on that shelf."

He moves around, his arm showing you one of the walls and then, he reaches for one of the doors and disappears behind it, more than probably to prepare the drink. Having no other choice, you go to the shelf and start reading the name of the books, doing your best to quickly change your mind and concentrate on the reason that got you to be at that place at that very moment. You quickly notice a few ones that seem to fit just right with what you're searching for, and you start piling them, but one of them is out of your reach. A faint groan leaves your lips and you get on your toes, reaching your arm as far as you can and you can feel your fingers brushing the book's cover, but it isn't enough to grab it.

"Wait, let me help," you hear behind you.

Before you can do anything, Kael'thas is right next to you, your bodies touching as he simply grabs the book for you — doing it so easily with his High Elf's height. Your entire body ignited from feeling him so close, especially since you had no doubt that it was unnecessary as he had demonstrated all day his own skill about magic as he had kept things floating around. And just to prove you right, a trail with the teapot and china cups was levitating above the table. You just know that your cheeks are completely flushed but as you softly thank him, you see no different expression on his face.

Taking the pile of books that you made, you move to the table, and there, you grab one of the cups after it was magically filled by the teapot, and you just wonder if you would be able to concentrate on your task — and how long would the Prince tolerate your presence here. So, after a first sip that almost burns your lips, you grab the first book, and start reading it as silence falls over the room. You flip through the pages, letting your eyes catch on to the important words. For a moment, you regret that you haven't taken a notebook with you. You're thinking about asking Kael'thas if he would have one that you could borrow, but as you raise your eyes to look at him, you see him reading as well. He's holding the book with only one hand, the pages changing by themselves and he's holding the second cup, sometimes bringing it to his lips and you're just staring.

The words written down have lost all meaning and your brain cannot register what you are doing anymore.

Suddenly, as if he had felt your gaze, his eyes glance in your direction. As fast as you can, you look down at your own book and you pretend to read, but you're becoming so nervous that your eyes are just reading the same word again and again. Your hands clutch on the side of the book, especially as you hear the sound of steps getting closer, and before you can do anything, he is standing next to you, leaning right to be at your face level.

"Something seems to trouble you," he says, stating it more than asking.

You look back at him. He's so close that you can't stop yourself from checking his features, your gaze walking from his blue piercing eyes to his lips, and you can feel the sweat dripping down your back as you notice that you would just need to move slightly forward to have a taste of them, but you also remember that Kael'thas is a powerful mage and if you didn't want to end your life as a sheep, it was better to keep your thoughts for yourself. Yet, as you have to reply something — to explain what's the trouble — you cannot feel the strength to lie to him. Not when his own eyes seemed to inspect your very soul.

"You're the one troubling me."

And here they are, those feelings that have been haunting you ever since he invited you to this place.

His eyebrow slowly raises, and the corner of his lips curve with an amusing smile. You aren't quite sure as to what you should do now, besides leaving really fast and hoping that it wouldn't stain your study's record — as, after all, as a member of the Six, Kael'thas can pretty much decide your fate alone — but unless you were suddenly mastering the blink spell, there was no way to bypass the Prince.

A gentle touch over your face gets you out of your mind. His fingers are a gentle caress on your cheek, with a touch that you could describe as ethereal, but it was nothing next to the following move from him. Warm lips meet with yours. It's as soft as the hand holding your face and you can't stop yourself from closing your eyes, savoring the moment. You feel a hand over your thigh and you just put your own over it, while the hand on your face slowly slides towards your neck, and, soon enough, there's an arm around your shoulders and the warmth of Kael'thas' body wraps you up. The kiss comes to an end as you need to breathe, and through your eyelids, you see him smiling at you before he goes back to your lips.

Your body leaves the chair but not for long. Crashing back against Kael'thas' body, he is now sitting on the chair as you are sitting in his lap, and both of your lips are parted. Your tongues meet as well and his fingers slide between your hair, while your hands rest on his chest.

As you break apart to breathe, he whispers your name.

A moan leaves your lips.

His hands go under your shirt, slowly lifting it and once he's at your breasts level, you grab what's left of your shirt and throw it away by yourself. Your bra followed it, and Kael'thas leaned toward you, his lips finding your nipple. His tongue pressed against it, wetting it and making it hard just from a lick. Around your waist, his arms embrace you, and you simply put your arms around his neck, playing with his hair as your head is thrown backward. His teeth nibble on your soft breast and he's moving from one another, giving as much attention to the left and the right. You whimper.

One of his hands begins to slide down your back, finding the edge of your pants and the slender fingers get under it. Then, it's time for your underwear to be unable to stop the fingers as you feel the warm hand gliding over your ass and soon enough, the tips of the fingers brushed against your folds.

You moan, and his lips over your breast change into a smile.

Ever since the first kiss, you had started to be wet, somewhat hoping that it would reach that moment — even if you were aware that it was wrong — and it was effortlessly that his fingers slid over your core, burying themselves between your folds. You're becoming louder, especially now that Kael'thas had moved his lips to your throat. His fingers finally curve as he is right at your entrance, and your entire body shivers at the gesture once he starts moving them and massaging your inner walls.

His name is on your lips, but you feel embarrassed about it. It was just a really good stroke of luck for you to be in that position, and as it felt surreal, you're afraid that saying his name out loud would break the illusion and bring you back to a reality where you had just been staring at a book for half of an hour and daydreaming about him returning your feelings.

"You can say my name," he intervenes as if he was reading your mind.

His voice is harsh, panting. Something shines brightly in his eyes, and you aren't sure if it's lust or love. You don't care.

"Prince Kael'thas," you whisper.

"Drop the honorific."

"Kael'thas."

His lips crash on yours. It's needy. Hungry.

"Free me," he pants between two kisses.

Without waiting anymore, you undo his belt and pull down his pants just enough to let his dick spring and as a reward, his fingers push further inside you, forcing a moan out of you. But as he does so, he also retrieves them and his hands are now on your pants, getting it out of the way. There's a faint moment where you look at each other — losing yourself in his blue eyes — and your lips crash once more. His arms around your waist bring you right against his body and you grab his shoulders to balance yourself. As it seems alright, one of your hands slid down his body until you can get a hold of his dick and you quickly stroke it, but he's already hard and all that's left to do, is to lower yourself on him.

With your hand over his dick, you guide him as his hands over your hips help you go down. As soon as the tip is inside you, you close your eyes, and from your parted lips, a long moan leaves your body. You finally sit back on his lap and your head falls against his chest. You can't understand how it is possible, but you aren't going to complain. A hand grabs your chin, lifting your face and you just bask in that growing pleasure as another kiss makes you fly. Kael'thas' hands slide down over your hips, firmly grasping them and as your hands stop shaking on his shoulders, you get up. His hands support your weight, and if at first, the movements are slow and unsure, you quickly find the right pace.

Moans fill the room, from both of you.

You're moving faster. His dick slides in and out of you. When his head isn't resting on the back chair, he grabs your face for more kisses. Time loses all meaning.

Your back arch as you come, and you feel his hands walking over your body, his touch as ethereal as before. As you come back to your senses, he pulls you for another kiss. His grasp becomes boisterous and he makes you go faster as he is close to an orgasm. You follow through, moving faster as well and your lips are on his throat, enjoying the fact that he is taller than you, and finally, you slam your hips on his thighs one last time and he's the one immobilizing you. He embraces you, making sure that there's no space between your bodies, and releases himself inside you.

You fall against him. Both of your chests are heavily rising and your brain is completely clouded. Did you really have sex with the Prince of Quel'thalas?! As his body didn't seem to disappear and you feel the call of sleep instead of the waking one, you have to accept that it wasn't a dream. You see him smiling and he snaps his finger. At the signal, a blanket flies right towards the chair, covering you both, and his hands gently caressing your body once again.

As it seems that you aren't going to be thrown out or that there aren’t any regrets from any side, you allow yourself to snuggle your face in his neck and you let sleep take you.
