Chapter 1: Not so happy campers part 1

Chapter Text

The camera shows a few seconds of calming water before a man appears in the shot. He appeared to be around 35 with stylized hair, a dark blue shirt and khaki pants.

"Yo! We're coming to you live from Camp Wawanakwa, somewhere in Muskoka, Ontario. I'm your host, Chris McLean. Dropping season 1 of the hottest new reality show on television, right now!" He said with a charismatic grin

.
"Here's the deal." He explained while walking on the dock. "Twenty two campers have signed up to spent eight weeks at this crummy old summer camp. They'll compete in challenges against each other, then face the judgement of their fellow competitors. Every 3 days one team will either win a reward or watch one of their team members walk down the dock of shame, take a ride on the loser boat and leave total drama island for good."

The scene soon cut to Chris standing behind a clearing of organized tree stumps. "Their fate will be decided here, at the dramatic campfire ceremony where, each week all but one camper will receive a marshmallow." He ate on before he continued. "In the end, only one camper will be left standing and will be rewarded with cheesy tabloid fame and a small fortune, which let's face it, they're probably blow in a week."

"To survive they will have to battle black flies, grizzly bears, disgusting camp food, and each other. Who will crumble under the pressure? Find out right here on..."

(Cue intro)

————————

The camera cut back to Total drama island. Alright it's time to meet our first eleven campers. We told them they'd all be staying at at this five star resort. So if they seem a little T.O'd, that's probably why." Chris said as the first arrived.

The first camper that arrived was a short girl with dyed red hair in a Mohawk style. She wore glasses, a black shirt with a skull on it, blue pants and red shoes. She also had a grumpy expression on her face.

“And our first camper is Beth, How's it going?” The host asked as the ‘rebel wannabe’ glared at him, “Since I’m staying at a trashy summer camp, not to great Shorty McShortshort.” She said laughing at her insult. “Uh-huh, just go stand over there.” Chris told her, “Don’t tell me what to do!” Beth said in response but complied none the less.

The next camper to arrive was a tall African boy who had glasses, braces and dressed in a brown shirt with animal badges, A green handkerchief, khaki pants and brown shoes.

“DJ.” Chris called out to him as the ‘Boy Scout’ went to greet him. “Yo, Chris McLean , Nice to meet you man.” He said as he then gained a confused look as he checked the island. “So this is the place? Thought it was gonna be cooler.” He asked.

“Yeah dawg, this is it, camp Wawanakwa.” Chris said in response. “Oh well, Close to nature at least.” DJ muttered in response as he went to the end of the dock.

The next camper to arrive was a girl that looked like she didn’t even try to look presentable. She had messy brown hair that covered one of her eyes, she wore a dark blue sweater with star patterns along with black pants and brown shoes.

“What’s up Gwen?” The host asked as the girl was getting her luggage. “Uh, The Sky I guess, and birds too. Whatever, I thought we were going to a five star resort.” She said angrily. “Yeah, this is where you’re actually staying, if we said if you wanted to go here you probably wouldn’t have come, now go join your new friends.” Chris said as He pushed the ‘recluse’ with the others.

“SUP HOMIES, GEOFF IS IN THE HOUSE!!” The next contestant shouted with party music heard in the background. What came out was a boy with blonde hair, a fedora, a zebra patterned shirt, blue pants and brown boots. “The Geoff-ster, Welcome to the island bro.” The host said. “Thanks bro, You know I’m in it to win it bro.” The sassy party animal said as he pointed finger guns at the others.

“Why must guys go overboard with the bro thing?” Gwen asked as Beth nodded in agreement.

“Everyone, this is lindsay.” Chris said as the camera directed to her. Lindsay was a beautiful girl and sweet music accompanied her. She had a long blonde hair in a ponytail with a blue bow to connect it, she had also worn a Japanese school girl uniform in white and red.

“What a weeb.” Chris muttered as Lindsay walked up to him. “Hi. I’m looking for Chris mclean, you know where he is?” She asked which earned her a few chuckles. “I’m Chris mclean.” He replied with a deadpan expression. “Oh, Sorry. I thought we were going to some stage show or something. I can work with this tho.” The weeb said as she went with the others.

The camera then cut to another camper. This one seemed to be the most upset with being lied to. She was a girl with black hair with red dye and wore a checkered jacket with a dark red crop top, a beanie on her head, black pants and black boots.

“Heather.” Chris said as she glared at him. “So we’re staying here?!” She said angrily. “No, you’re staying here. My crib is an airstream with an A.C that way.” He said pointing his thumb which only made the hipster glare harder. “I didn’t sign up for this.” She said as the host pulled out some files. “Actually you did.” Chris said as Heather simply took the papers and ripped them apart with a smirk.

“The great thing about lawyers is,” Chris proceeded to pull out another pack of papers. “They make lots of copies.” If looks could kill, Chris would probably be on fire right now. “I’m calling my parents, you can’t make me stay here.” The hipster said and crossed her arms in defiance. “It’s cool, hope they got a boat tho. Cause your ride just left.” The camera showed the boat leaving in the distance. “Jerk.” Heather muttered as she went towards the others.

Rock music was heard as the next camper arrived with his foot on the speaker. It was a boy with black hair and wore a green shirt, a black jacket, a spiked dog collar, blue shorts, and brown boots. With him was an electric guitar hanging from his back.

“Duncan, dude.” The host greeted as Duncan inspected the place. “So, this is it? A trash camp, you I don’t like surprises Chris.” He threatened holding up his fist. “Yeah, your officer warned me about that. He also said to holes if you need to be sent back to juvie.” The rocker stiffened at that and sighed. “Alrighty then, I’ll behave.” He said walking towards the others.

The next camper was intimidating. He had brown hair that covered one of his eyes and wore a red jacket with white sleeves with the number 13 on it. He also had black pants, red shoes and black fingerless gloves. “Tyler.” Chris said but Tyler ignored him as he walked with his bags, one of them accidentally hit Beth. “Ow, what heck dude?!” She yelled but the hothead jock glared at her. “You got a problem with my stuff?” He asked. “N-no, it’s fine.” Beth responded nervously as he walked away.

“Here comes Harold.” Chris said as the camera showed a boy on the boat. He had red hair and goggles and wore a sleeveless blue shirt, bandages on his gloves, red shorts, blue shoes and a few scars. “Sup everybody.” He said but slipped on the boat and crashed on the dock falling in the water, “Wow, that was hilarious.” Beth said. “Uh, is he ok?” Gwen asked. But Harold proceeded to push himself on the dock with one hand and smiled.

“Pssh, please that was nothing. So we are at a summer camp eh, with my skill set this’ll be a breeze. Heh, I’m so winning.” The daredevil said as Chris stared at him weirdly. “How is it going, I’m Harold.” He said, shaking Gwen’s hand. “Uh yeah it's nice to- woah.” She paused at the sight of the next camper, in facts all the girls did.

It showed a handsome guy with black hair and wore a white v shirt, black pants and shoes, and also wore a golden watch. “Camper number 10 is Trent.” Chris announced. “Hey man. Glad to meet you” The handsome guy greeted, “You know we mostly chose you for your looks right?” Chris asked. “Yeah, I can live with that, nice work on that skating show by the way.” Trent told him.

“Thanks, I knew I rocked that show.” The host smirked at the camera. “You mean that one where one of them dropped their partner on their head, that was hilarious.” Beth laughed and then noticed the looks she was getting. “Calm down you babies, they got immunity that week.” Beth said to the others.

“So all I have to do to get immunity is to injure myself?” Lindsay asked. “It’s probably better to avoid that if you ask me.” Duncan replied.

Another boat arrives to show a girl with blond hair, a light blue shirt, blue shorts and goggles waterskiing by latching on to the boat.

“Ladies and gentleman, Bridgette!” Chris announced. Bridgette tried to wave but proceeded to get crashed in the dock and fly in everyone’s stuff, one piece of luggage got Heather wet, “Watch it stuntgirl.” She said as the klutz chuckled nervously. “S-sorry about that.” She said to the others.

“Ya kidding, that was a wicked wipe out.” Chris responded. “Have any of you seen a surfboard?” She asked. “You mean that one?” Heather pointed to said board that caused a hole near her. “Yeah, thanks.” Bridgette said as she got it, accidentally hitting Heather.

“Our next camper is Sadie.” Chris said as it showed a black haired chubby girl, wearing a pink shirt, blue skirt and red shoes. “Hi, you must be that host I’ve heard about. It’s nice to meet you new friends.” She said, “Uh huh, good for you.” Chris said with a blank expression as the naive girl joined the others.

The next camper was a larger black girl with black hair, a shirt with an L encased in a star, blue jeans, white pearled earrings, and brown sandals.

“Leshawna.” Chris said to her. “Sup Chris, this is the place?, thought I was getting a hot tub. This looks different from what I was promised.” She asked. “Oh what was your first clue, ghetto wannabe.” Heather said as the passionate girl glared at her. “What you say hippe?!” She asked angrily. “You heard me.” Heather answered and Leshawna walked up with her hands in fist. “Don’t try me.” Leshawna sneered and calmed herself down.

“Woo-hoo! Chris man, how are you doing? This is awesome!” Shouted the next camper. He was a chubby boy with blonde hair, a white shirt, blue hoodie, light green shorts and light brown shoes. With him was another camper who was an Indian boy with black hair, a black shirt, red hoodie, dark green shorts and dark brown shoes.

“Gentleman Owen, Noah, welcome to your new home for the next few weeks.” Chris said to the boys. “So I’m staying at a summer camp instead of a resort, great.” Noah said as Owen hugged both him and Chris. “Come on, Don’t be like that Noah, I know this is going to be amazing.” Owen said as he went to the other and the bookworm followed his best friend.

Another boat dropped off another camper. He had brown hair with a green shirt, blue jacket, a backwards cap, blue pants and brown shoes. “Ezekiel, what up man?” The host asked. “I’m good eh, Tho call me Zeke from now on, It rolls a lot better with the ladies.” He threw finger guns towards the girls and walked up to them. He was about to talk again but Leshawna put a finger on Zeke’s mouth. “I think we’ve heard enough.” She said to the dork.

The next boat arrived and brought another camper. He was a short guy with brown hair, a yellow button shirt, green tie, black pants and black dress shoes.

“Cody! The codster! The Codemeister!” Chris said to him. “Thanks for the stellar intro psyched to be here, you got the memo on my life threatening allergies right?” Cody asked the host. “I’m sure someone did.”

“How reassuring, is this where we’re staying?” The prodigy asked. “No this is your mother’s house and we’re throwing a party.” Beth said sarcastically. “Nice piercing edgelord, you did them yourself?” Cody asked to which Beth responded by grabbing his tie and pulling him towards her face. “I did actually, want one?” She asked. “Tempting, but I’m good. I’m gonna need my tie back tho.” He answered as Beth let go of him.

The next camper was a muscular girl with a dark blue hoodie, headphones, blue shorts and black shoes with some duffel bags. “Our buff girl Eva is here.” Chris said. “Hey everyone, how's it going?” She asked as put her duffel bags down but it hit Zeke’s foot.

“Ow, watch your stuff, what’s in there eh? Dumbbells?” He asked and the peacekeeper scratched her head. “Yes actually, It dumbells. Sorry by the way.” She said. “It’s cool, all is forgiven for a hot chick.” He said in response. “Uh, thanks.” She said weirded out. “Ok we’ve all met strong girl can we move on.” Heather asked.

“Looks like someone missed their double cappuccino this morning.” Beth mocked as Heather glared.

“Get bent.” Heather said in response.

The next camper was shown as tense music played. She had black hair in a ponytail, a hot pink crop top, a red skirt and brown heels, the reflection of her sunglasses showing the other campers. She then took off her glasses.

“Katie, welcome.” Chris said as Katie shook his hand. Sadie then proceeded to walk up to her. “Hi, I’m Sadie, looks like we’re your friends for the next eight weeks.” She said and Katie gave an innocent but dark grin. “I look forward to it.” The manipulator answered.

The next camper was a girl with brown hair and wearing a sun hat, a pink shirt, a grey coat, black pants, and brown boots.

“And here comes Courtney.” Chris said as he helped her off the boat. “Thanks man. Hi there everyone I’m Courtney, nice to see the people I’m up against.” She said smiling, Katie came over to her. “Hey there I’m Katie.” Katie said as she went for a hand shake. “It’s very nice to meet you too.” The social planner responded.

The next camper to arrive was similar to Trent in being handsome. He wore a green button shirt and wore grey dress pants and brown dress shoes.

“This is Justin, welcome to total drama island.” Chris announced as Justin walked to him. “I see you lied to me, whatever I’ll still be the winner. It’s nice to meet the rest of you I guess.” He said. “Thanks, I really like your pants.” Owen said. “Thanks, glad you like ‘em. Now get out of my way” the bossy guy responded. “Of course.” Owen responded by letting him through.

The final boat arrived and showed a girl with orange hair in a ponytail. She wore a green shirt with a horse on it and even wore a set of horse ears. She also wore blue pants and brown sandals.

“Hey everyone! Izzy!” Chris said as Izzy immediately ran up to him. “Hi Chris! Hi everyone! Is this a summer camp? This is gonna be amazing.” She said, clearly full of energy. “Love the enthusiasm.” Chris said. “Please shake my hand?” Izzy asked as Chris did so and got zapped as a result.

“Phahahah did you see how he fell for that?” The comedian asked. “Hilarious.” Duncan responded.

“Also, are we having lunch soon? I'm kinda hungry.” Izzy asked. “That’s what I wanna know.” Owen agreed. “Ok, first things first,” Chris said to the others, “we need a group photo. Everyone at the end of the dock.”

As all the campers all got on the dock for the photo, Chris got on the boat for the angle. But it turns a bit more complicated.

“Ok one, two, three… Whoops.” He interrupted. “Forgot the lense cap, ok hold that pose, ok one, two… Wait, cards full hang on.” He instructs.

“Can you speed this up bro, I can’t keep this face forever man.” Geoff complained.

“Got it! Everyone say ‘Wawanakwa’” the host instructs.

“Wawanakwa!!” They exclaim but as they do so the dock breaks apart and they fall in the water. The camera showing a few photos of the others trying to keep themselves from sinking.

“Ok guys, dry off and meet me at the campfire pit at 10.” The host says while chuckling to himself.

All the campers had made gotten out of the water dried up as they went to the elimination site, some of the campers sat but others stood as they all looked at the hosts.

“This is camp Wawanakwa, your home for the next eight weeks!” Chris explained. “The campers sitting around you will be your cabin mates…”

Justin gave everyone an unimpressed look as izzy smiled at him.

“…Your competition..”

Heather and Beth glared at each other

“…And maybe even your friends….”

Sadie smiled at Katie and Katie smiled back.

“…You dig?”

Cody glanced at Zeke who smiled at him.

“The camper that manages to stay on total drama island the longest without getting voted off will win 100,000 dollars!” Announced the host.

“Excuse me, what will our sleeping arrangements be eh? Because I’d like to bunk with her.” Ezekiel glanced at Eva as the strong girl looked somewhat uncomfortable. “They’re not coed are they?” She asked.

“Nope, girls get one side of the cabin, dudes get the other.” The hosts clarified.

“Excuse me Chris, Can we do stuff like explore around the island? Research wildlife or whatever?“ Lindsay asked. “Sure as long as it won’t interfere with your competitiveness.” Chris answered.

“Can I get to bunk with noah?” Owen asks the host. “Yeah he would probably be lost without me.” Noah agreed.

“This cannot be happening to me right now.” Heather groaned in frustration. “Aw come on, lighten up guys,” Izzy said, hugging both Heather and Bridgette. “Think of it as one giant sleepover with people you don’t know.”

“Well I hope I don’t have to bunk with her.” Bridgette said pointing to Beth who tried to give a deer a noggie but failed and the deer got away by pushing her off.

“Now, I’m gonna split you into two teams, when I call your name stand on the left side of the dock.”

“Courtney, Tyler, Beth, Duncan, Eva, Zeke, Izzy, Geoff, Bridgette, DJ, and Lindsay. From this moment forward you shall be known as … The screaming bass.”

Chris tosses them a flag with the picture of a green bass. Lindsay catches the flag and inspects it. “I’m pretty sure that bass doesn't scream but I still like it.” The weeb said in response.

“The rest of you over there.” The host calls out. “Owen, Gwen, Noah, Heather, Justin, Leshawna, Cody, Katie, Trent, Sadie, and Harold. Move! move! move!”

The others quickly move to the other side. “Glad we’re on the same team.” Owen said to Noah. “Yeah me too.” Noah replied.

“You guys will officially be known as … the killer gophers!” Chris tosses them a red flag of an angry gopher. “This is awesome. We’re gonna slaughter those fish!” Harold cheered excitedly with a crazed look at the bass.

“Alright campers. You and your team will be on camera in all public areas during the challenge.” Chris said as the camera cut to static.

[Confessional- Chris]

“You will also be able to share your innermost thoughts on tape with video diaries anytime you want.” The host explains in a dirty outhouse. “Let the audience right now know what you're really thinking, or just get something off your chest.

[Confessional- Gwen]

“Why did I let my mom sign me up for this?”

[Confessional- Lindsay]

“I hope to prove to the others that not all blonde girls are stupid.”

[Confessional- Noah and Owen]

“Me and Noah have been best friends since forever.” Owen explained. “More like we’ve been best friends since we were 3.” Noah clarified.

“Well with our friendship, There’s nothing we can’t do.” Owen proclaims. “As long as we don’t cause any ruckus or drama we should be good.” Noah said, smiling at his best friend. Owen then proceeds to hug the bookworm in a tight hug.

“Don’t worry, I’m used to this.” Noah said in a strained voice.

[confessional over]

“Alright then, now that there aren’t any more questions, let’s get you situated.” The host says. “Bass your in the east cabin, Gophers your in the west.”

West cabin- Girls side

“Bunk beds, why can’t I get my own bed?” Gwen asked. “Because it’s summer camp moron, that’s the idea.” Heather responded as Gwen glared at her. “My name is Gwen, not moron. Get it right.” Heather ignored her.

“It's alright Gwen.” Leshawna put a comforting hand on her, “She is just being grumpy at the moment. Might as well make the most of it right?” Leshawna said as the introvert sighed “I guess so.” She mutters. “That’s the spirit.” Leshawna said as Gwen smiled a bit.

The boys were settling in as Cody noticed Zeke passing by. “Hey dude, you're on the wrong side.” He calls out to the dork. “It’s fine eh,I was seeing if the girls needed any help.” He responded. “I wouldn’t recommend that. I tried that once and girls usually respond,” Cody then heard Zeke scream and fall on the floor. “Like that.” The prodigy finished.

“Hey Uh, Host guy,” Sadie called out. “Where are the outlets? I need to plug things.”

“There should be some in the communal bathrooms across thataway.” Chris answers. “Communal, Is that a cathlotic thing?” Sadie asked. “Not communic, communal. It means we shower together.” Katie explains. “What? Oh come on!” Sadie whines as Owen, Noah and Trent look ahead.

“You know this makes me really happy that we have our own cabin with just us dudes.” Owen said. “Uh, sure I guess if your into that.” Trent responds. “Did I say something wrong?” Owen asked the bookworm. “Nah, It’s nothing wrong, now let’s go set up our stuff.” Noah says as his best friend follows behind.

“Excuse me Chris?” Justin asked, “Are there any chaperones in this facility?”

“Your all 16 years old, as old as any counselor in training at a regular summer camp. So other than myself, you’ll all be unsupervised.” The host explains.

“Alright then, I can work with that.” Justin says, smirking.

A scream was heard at the bass cabins as the others get shocked and rushed to the cabin.

“I hear screaming, What’s going on?” Leshawna asked worriedly as the camera showed the scream to come from Lindsay backed up against the wall and on a stool frantically trying to get away from a cockroach.

“Get this away from, Kill it or something!” She calls out. DJ went to deal with the cockroach but Harold proceeded to try and deal with it himself. “I got it!” He shouts with an axe in hand. The axe scares DJ into jumping into one of the beds and breaking one of the sides.

“Hey! That was my bed.” Beth said angrily. “Boy put that axe down, you gonna hurt somebody!” Leshawna called out to Harold. The cabin soon descended into chaos as the campers tried to kill it. It wasn’t until Tyler lifted up his foot and stomped out the cockroach and the poor bug perished.

“Thank you Tyler-San.” Lindsay says as she hugs him, leaving the jock somewhat blushing. “Y-yeah whatever.” He muttered as Lindsay got off of him.

“Listen up!” Shouted a muscular African man in chef outfit. “I serve it three times a day, and you will eat it three times a day. Grab a plate, get your food and sit your butts down now!”

“Uh, we are getting all the major food groups right?” DJ asked. “Yeah my nutritionist says for me to not eat things like white flour, sugar or dairy.” Lindsay asked which seemed to only annoy the cook.

“You get a whole lot of shut the heck up!!” Chef yelled which caused the two to back away.

“Aww, looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the cabinet this morning.” Izzy said to Cody who was sitting next to her. “What was that?!” Chef called out, causing the two to flinch. “Come closer horse girl, I didn’t hear you.” Chef said motioning the girl his finger

“W-What? M-me, I didn’t say anything.” The comedian said nervously. “I’m sure you didn’t” the chef said as she walked away. “You!” Chef said as the camera cut to Cody. “Scrawny kid, give me your plate.” Cody did so and the chef dropped another lump of meat on his plate, the meat then got up and the chef put it down again.

“Uh, thanks man, looks great.” The prodigy said, trying not to anger the chef. As he walked by the camera showed Geoff and Tyler. “Sup bro, you excited?” Geoff asked but the jock simply snorted and walked off. “Geez, what’s your problem?” The party animal complained and the chef shouted for the next camper.

The camera flashed to show Sadie, Katie and Heather as the sat down at the table. “So what is this stuff? Does it contain things like peanuts? ” Sadie asked. “I think you’ll be fine.” Katie muttered as the chef was shown killing a fly with his hand. “Cool.” Sadie said as she went to try the food.

“Uh, complaint!” Heather called out. “My food just moved!” Chef then went and smashed the meat into bits. “Happy now?” He asked as the hipster nodded fearfully.

All the campers were busy eating when Chris came in. “Campers,” he began. “Welcome to the main lodge.”

“Chris, this food is unsanitary, can we order something like a pizza?” Courtney asks as the chef threw a clever at her that barely missed. “Whoa man, I-I was just joking your food’s amazing right guys?” She asked in fear as the other campers cower at the chef.

“Glad your enjoying to food. Better hurry up, cause the first challenge starts … in one hour.” Chris says while walking out.

“What do you think he’ll make us do?” Gwen asks Leshawna.

“Calm down girl, the first challenge is supposed to ease us into things, it probably won’t be that hard.” Leshawna responds.

The camera then cut to the campers in their swimsuits, standing above a 1000 high foot cliff. Leshawna looks down and only says three words.

“Aw [BLEEP] naw!”
