«Mission begins in ten seconds»
Roaring screams were heard in the spawning room as the RED team prepared themselves physically and emotionally for their next mission in 2fort.
Code name: Capturing the Flag.
Or, more precisely, stealing the briefcase from those blasted members of the BLU team and unveiling the juicy data to gain an advantage in defeating them.
For good.
Despite being a serious mission, it seemed everyone was monking around; jumping all over the place, spraying pictures on the walls and floor, shooting each other, dressing up in ridiculous hats or other cosmetics, and calling one another spy.
It was a mess; a beautiful one.
Then suddenly, amongst such a circus attraction, another member poof into existence.
A RED hatless Engineer.
«Five… Four… Three… Two… One»
Without having time to comprehend his surroundings, the poor Texan character was toppled over by his teammates, as he was squashed like a bug by heavy-weight boots.
Every class was itching to begin the gory action, but they had failed to realize they were damaging one of their ones as they yelled out random one-liners.
“Freeeedooooom!"
“Eat my dust!"
“Give 'em hell, boys!"
“Shall we?".
“Here I coooome!"
“God save the Queen!"
Eventually, they left the room, leaving the Engineer to eat their dust.
“Dagit nagit, nabit dagit!".
After regaining its strength, it ran out of the first room in the back and into the one before the main gate to prepare himself to join along. However, in his haste to not waste much time, he quickly picked up his equipment, never glancing at the items in his hands or what he placed on his head. Not even double-checking for a few seconds, he left with his arms full, dashing to the briefcase room to protect the dark codes and secrets held within the RED base.
Weirdly enough, it was shown to be challenging to see where he was going, yet he didn’t give it much thought due to how focused his brain was.
Once he made it downstairs, he quickly deployed his toys all over the room; his beloved three-level sentry gun – which he hid in a corner to catch the enemy off guard –, a dispenser located near the desk, and a teleporter between the entrances.
“Well, that was easy”.
Proud of his achievement, he ran back upstairs to position the other teleporter in another area in the building so his team would have a better time reaching the briefcase in case of an emergency. Still, he was careful to choose a hidden spot, as he knew a backstabbing Frenchie could permanently ruin everything.
He tossed the spinning machine down, followed by hitting it into submission.
“Screamin' Eagles!".
It seemed another RED Soldier, holding his trusty rocket launcher, was nearby, judging by how loud his voice was heard. It appeared to be a new member compared to the others, as he was still inside the building.
Whatever the case, the American man casually ran past him, only to reach a screeching halt, followed by returning to the room.
Noticing he was being watched, the Texan man stopped his engineering and looked puzzled at the Soldier as the two commenced their intense staring contest. A slight body movement was seen in the Soldier while the Engineer kept hitting his melee weapon in his hand.
It was pretty bizarre.
That was until wheezing escaped the Soldier as he performed a laughing taunt, proceeding to point at the Engineer.
“Now that is what I wanna see!".
The shortest RED member was puzzled as he moved his body to the side.
“What?”.
Chuckling a little more, the Soldier shifted his body as if to signify his teammate to look up. And so did the Engineer, surprised that his hard hat was nowhere to be seen on his head.
Instead, in its place, there laid a helmet that belonged to the Soldier class.
“Whoooowee! Would ya look at that!".
It was time for the Engineer to laugh as he performed a little dance.
Admiring him, the American saluted. “Boo-yah! You just got dominated, toymaker”.
The Engineer shook his body. “You just ain't doin' it right."
“Negatory! That Engineer is a spy!”.
“Nah! That Soldier is a spy!”.
Soft laughter was heard as they found amusing this little new bond that was blossoming between them. It was tough to tell what was happening, yet the two kept performing taunt after taunt while spewing random one-liners.
Just enjoying each other’s company.
And to think; it was all because of a minor switcheroo incident.
“Is anyone even paying attention to me?”.
Both froze before moving their bodies to see a BLU Scout standing a little far off them, swinging his bat in a steady rhythm.
After both RED members glimpsed at each other, they returned to the annoying Boston character, as the Engineer got a hold of his shotgun.
“Nah!”.
“No!”.
An explosion was heard with a click of both triggers as the Scout was blown into smithereens.
