"Will you promise not to hate me if I tell you something really dumb?" Kirishima asked. He laid on Bakugou's bed watching him do the homework that wasn't due until Friday. "Like Kaminari after using 1 million volts dumb."
"What are you talking about Shitty Hair? You're always dumb."
"I'm serious. You have to promise not to hate me." Kirishima gnawed on his lip. There was no sign of his usual easy-going nature.
Bakugou put his homework down. "Sure, whatever. I promise. Now what are you going on about?"
"I think I like you." The words spilled out of Kirishima's mouth so fast Bakugou almost didn't catch them, but he kept going. "Like in a romantic way. You don't have to do anything about it and I don't expect you to like me back. I just thought it would be unmanly if I didn't tell you. Like hanging out with you under false pretenses or something."
Bakugou's brain froze. He fixated on one thing. "Why don't you expect me to like you back?"
"Well you're so manly and strong and I'm just-" He stopped at Bakugou's glare. It was the same look he always gave Kirishima whenever he started getting down on himself. "I don't even know if you're gay or not," Kirishima finished lamely.
"I don't know what I am," Bakugou growled. "But the thought of you being with any of those shitty extras makes me want to kill somebody."
"And the thought of me being with you?"
Bakugou's face heated. "It makes me want to kill people less. Even shitty Deku is less annoying when you're around."
"Ok." Kirishima bit down to try to hide his grin. "Ok. So what do we do from here?"
Bakugou glared at the ground. "You want to be more boyfriend or some shit?"
"Yes!" Kirishima was no longer trying to hide his grin. "So do you want to tell everybody or..."
"Maybe not tell everybody. I'm not ashamed or some shit and I don't want to hide it. I just don't want all the fucking extra's in my face about it."
Bakugou was almost scared to look at Kirishima's reaction. He needn't have been worried. Kirishima was still beaming.
"Sounds good. Our friends can be kind of annoying when it comes to dating and stuff like that. We can just let them figure it out as the year goes on and then hopefully it won't be a big deal."
What now? He didn't know how to do this. Boyfriends usually went on dates, right? "Next weekend. We're going hiking. None of the others are invited."
"Sounds great." Kirishima's smile was glaringly bright. "I'll look forward to it Katsuki."
