Does anyone else find the Percy Jackson Case really suspicious?
Now let me explain before going on a rant because I’ve talked about it IRL before and some people got kind of aggressive about it (which is also very weird).
So, I (37 M) used to be Percy and Sally Jackson’s neighbour up until they moved out. And despite the kid giving really weird vibes at times and looking like a troublemaker he was a really sweet boy; he’d carry our elderly neighbour’s groceries every time he was here and is surprisingly very good with kids even if they’re always a bit scared when first meeting him.
The same goes for his mom, I could go as far as call her a goddess on earth, she has the patience of a Saint, is beautiful and loves her son more than anything in the world. She worked really hard for him and made cookies to die for, though she had the weird habit of making her food blue, I would probably kill my own partner to eat her cookies again.
And here goes the tons of questions on how she ended up with Gabe Ugliano in the first place, we’re not stupid, all over reddit and other social medias they were a lot of people finding Gabe’s reaction to his wife’s disappearance odd. Well people you would be right, that man despised Percy, he would blame him for everything he could - I once heard him blame him for a bird shitting on his car – we also all knew that he wasn’t the most attentive husband and that when Percy was at his boarding school, Sally would sometimes go to work with a few bruises and a few years before everything Percy came to my apartment asked my partner to teach him how to apply makeup, which would be perfectly normal if there wasn’t this huge bruise on his cheekbone.
So, I really wouldn’t believe a word that man said if I were you. But to go back to the original topic, let’s add a few details from what the public knows about this case.
Sally went missing on a road in the middle of nowhere in Long Island after she and Percy went to Montauk for a few days (which is where she met Percy’s mysterious and missing father, yes, it’s an important detail to add, I’ll get to it). What is odd is that all (or most) of their things were still in the cabin they rented, which means they ran away in emergency (also why the fuck was there goat hairs in the car?) and like… The car was hit by lightning? How did they survive?
Anyway, they survived and here is what I’ve heard from a discussion between Sally and Percy once they met again, so Sally had been taken at that moment by someone they called “Hades” and that Sally referred to Percy as “his uncle”. But Sally doesn’t have any family left, which means it comes from his father’s side of the family (which we still know nothing about except that Sally usually says that he’s lost at sea). Percy was resting and hiding at somewhere they called “camp” along with a guy who warned them “something” was coming to take them, (from what I understood the guy was the other boy kidnapped alongside Percy who I’ve heard him talk about before and was his best friend during this school year), anyway they were (along with a blonde girl from this same camp) travelling across the country to find something important that had been stolen.
That’s when they were attacked by (and I quote Percy) “Three demonic grandmas” in the bus before it went off rails and accidented and then exploded because it was hit by lightning (it’s the second time, it happened, in a little time, probably doesn’t mean anything but still weird). The bus where multiple people say they saw the guy who will later be known as their kidnappers.
At the Arch Percy told his mom about a lady who was sent after them and how they barely escaped (what were they doing here when they apparently had managed to get train tickets is above me, except if it was to not stay too long at the same place to avoid this from happening).
I couldn’t really hear a lot of what happened after because Gabe lost and started yelling but from what I caught at the end, he convinced his uncle to let his mom go if he could retrieve something for him – which he did – and the guy he had to fight is in fact another uncle (or cousin, that wasn’t very clear) that he called ‘Ares’ (yeah all the Greek Mythology names seem to be a family thing since Percy’s name is Perseus) and (GET THAT PEOPLE), Percy met his dad. His dad who is supposed to be missing. And soon after that – like 2 days at most – Gabe goes missing without a trace to where he went or what happened, not a single clue, Sally gets versed a very nice amount of money for a sculpture (that none of us remember seeing despite knowing she showed it to us at some point) and the two of them move out after.
So, what was the point of all that except giving more details? Well, I find it weird that all of Percy’s family members from his father side are popping out of nowhere, kidnapping their nephew (cousin?) with two friends of his and his mom and cause all these problems (without anyone being caught but their victims) and have so many people trying to catch them and usually exploding things. I personally, think that there was something else going on and that his dad implied Percy (whether it was his choice to or not, I don’t know), but ever since Percy got caught in more and more dangerous things, very different than his usual ones (look i've known the kid since he was like 3 or 4, of course i worry for him!).
tl;dr: I lived next to the Jackson for years and Gabe was an abusive asshole who went missing directly after the case which was after Sally&Percy went to the beach she met his dad on. Coincidence? I think not.
Edit: Yes, I heard about the blown-up gym, but they have cameras and someone leaked the videos and you can clearly see that Percy was trying his best to help his classmates get out while the non-registered visiting kids were throwing Molotov Cocktails.
Edit: Please stop asking why no one reported Gabe for his abuses, we tried but we’re all from a poor neighbourhood and Gabe’s childhood friend was in the police and Sally begged us to stop before it got us into troubles.
Edit: If anyone calls Sally a bad mother again for letting her child be abused, I will find you; they didn’t know for each other and each time any of us mentioned Gabe they’d run away as fast as possible and never let us the time to tell them, but Percy and Sally are literally each other’s world and Sally would probably have murdered him if she knew.

I think OP shouldn’t talk about Gabriel like that, was there ever any proofs? Perseus was a known troublemaker and delinquent; his stepfather was already nice enough to let him stay when he married his mother instead of throwing him in an orphanage.
