Work Text:
Diluc always thought he was a good big brother when he was younger. Caring for younger Kaeya was his favorite thing to do.
He was a good older brother.
Diluc was a good big brother. Kaeya is now 16, joining him in the Knights of Favonius. He taught Kaeya how to weild a sword and teach him how to fight.
He was a good older brother.
Diluc is the worst big brother. WRONG. He watched as Kaeya clutched on to his stomach, a Cryo vision in front of him. Staring, he backs away, dragging his sword with him.
"Don't show up here, ever again. Traitor."
Diluc was a bad good person.
Diluc watched as Kaeya joked around with the other knight, taking note of his fake behavior and the look of mischievousness in his blue eye. The eyepatch he wore always made Diluc think. He didn't see his attack hurt his eye. He could have been blind, or... It could be an entirely different thing.
Kaeya could feel the stares.
Diluc... was a brother. He is Kaeya's brother.
But who was this monster that stood in the middle of Mondstadt? Radient blue and purple scales blinded Diluc.
He was there when Kaeya transformed.
Kaeya had been acting strange, in pain perhaps. He didn't drink much of his drink.
Before Diluc knew it, Kaeya had turned into what ever this thing was.
Diluc was a bad brother.
He should've helped.
Diluc is a bad brother.
He should've noticed.
Diluc is a bad brother-
"No, you're a good brother."
Diluc looked down at his brother, he looked so small in his arms.
"You're a good big brother, 'luc."
The man shook his head, lips trembling as he tried to stop the bleeding. Oh Barbatos, there was so much blood. So much blood it reminded him of that rainy night.
"Don't say you're not. I'm not lying."
It doesn't matter if he was lying or not. Diluc would alway be a bad brother. He left Kaeya.
"Well, now you're here. You didn't leave, hm?"
...
Kaeya smiled, putting a hand on Diluc's face.
"I'm the bad brother. I'm the worst little brother, 'luc. I'm sorry."
Maybe they both were the worst brothers.
