"Just admit you screwed up!" Skywarp pointed, "You're always talking like you're some kinda genius, like me and TC are your dumbaft sidekicks, but guess what? You're the biggest idiot here with your giant, unplanned Mega-sparkling that's never in a million years gonna fit between your legs! Just cuz you got that fancy science degree doesn't mean you're not stupid enough to get knocked up!"

Starscream was breathing heavily, his olfactory flaring with every breath. "It's. Not. Megatron's."

    1. "-which we know is a load of slag, by the way. You're too impatient to really think it’s a good idea to gestate and then raise a whole-ass sparkling-"

"-or a 'genetically perfect warrior to oust Megatron’s dilapidated husk in your stead', as you put it-" Thundercracker rolled his optics.

"-like that's gonna be easier than just offing Megatron yourself," Skywarp spat. "Just admit you fragged up. We won’t even make that much fun of you. Since you’re like, in pain and all.”

"Never!" Starscream screeched, sitting upright again. "This is going exactly to my plan! Whatever you’re implying-"

"Starscream." Thundercracker began, mustering all the patience he had. "We’re in a unregistered, unregulated, out-of-system med-centre, which has no cybertronian practitioner or equipment, but okay," he smiled sarcastically[...]

"I don't need to listen to this," Starscream sneered, swinging his legs over the edge of the medberth.

"Yes you do, there's no way that thing's coming out naturally." Skywarp pointed. "Where'd you think the medics ran off to? They're looking for something strong enough to cut through your armour."

    "What?!" Starscream squawked.

"Skywarp," Thundercracker growled through his denta. Then to Starscream, said, "They're not going to cut you open-"

    "Yet," Skywarp muttered.

"-They're trying to get hold of a someone with qualifications in cybertronian medicine," Thundercracker finished with a scowl aimed at Skywarp. "Everything is going to be fine."

    Starscream looked to Skywarp.

Skywarp, never one to sugar-coat an awful situation, pursed his lips and said, "Yeah, it'll be fine... But you'll probably never walk again."

There was a clang as Thundercracker's servo whacked across Skywarp's shoulder.

    2. "Megatron?!" Starscream burst out, horrified and disgusted but thankfully too heavy to be anything but berthbound. "How dare you cast such a sickening aspersion on me, your own trine-leader! What kind of depraved thinking would have you believe I would EVER-!"

Thundercracker and Skywarp stepped aside to reveal the monitor. Starscream cut himself off with a meek, "-oh..."

On the monitor screen was a live feed of the inside of Starscream's packed gestation chamber. It was a fairly gruesome sight to begin with, as gestation chambers always expanded and forced a frame into transformations of internal parts to make room for the protoform, but what made this image more striking was that Starscream's sparkling was the near-double of their fearsome Decepticon commander, in miniature. (But not that miniature).

Right down to the bucket-shaped helmet on it's unproportionately large head.

"...That is big," Starscream said when he finally recovered.

    "It's also Megatron’s," Skywarp growled.

Starscream turned his nose up, "I don't know anything about that."[...]

"So maybe it vaguely resembles Megatron-" Starscream began.

    "Vaguely?!" Skywarp exclaimed.

"He's not the only mech on this side of the universe that has a helmet, Skywarp!"

Skywarp bent beside the monitor and pointed, "Yeah?! Look at that nose-!"

"Don't you dare!" Starscream screeched, clearly knowing where this was going.

"That nose didn't come from your coding!"

"You can barely see it!" Starscream yelled, right as the protoform turned in the gestation tank and gave them all a unhindered view of a very Megatron-esk nose.

    "See!" Skywarp yelled.

"We're going to get kicked out," Thundercracker mumbled

    3. Thundercracker tried to be as sympathetic as he could, but Starscream needed to face reality. “If they can't do anything for you here we're going to have to return to the ship. It won't be that bad. We tell Megatron, he'll summon Nickel-"

    "I'd rather die!" Starscream hissed.

"You probably will," Skywarp called from the corner of the room.

"That won't be necessary," a new voice announced. They looked up to find one of the med-centre staff in the doorway, looking thoroughly pleased with herself. "We had a contact in our system, a doctor with extensive training in the field of cybertronian medicine. He's just arrived."[...]

She stepped out, and in the doorway in her place, a mech came to stand.

Ratchet, the Autobot Chief Medical Officer, blinked at them.

    The three seekers blinked back.

"I take it back, call Megatron," Starscream was the first to recover from the shock.

Ratchet sighed deeply, but stepped into the room[...]

“Don't even think about, fly boy," Ratchet warned without bothering to turn around, peering down at the monitor displaying Starscream's sparkling.

He straightened up and set his hands on his hips, shaking his head.

"Well that's never going to fit," he echoed Skywarp's earlier words.

Skywarp threw up his arms, "That's what I said!"

"Lie back down," Thundercracker advised tiredly, "You've been in labour for three days-"

"It's not stuck!" Starscream protested for what had to be the hundredth time over the last few days, thoroughly in denial and a tad hysterical.

Thundercracker tried to be as sympathetic as he could, but Starscream needed to face reality. “If they can't do anything for you here we're going to have to return to the ship. It won't be that bad. We tell Megatron, he'll summon Nickel-"

Thundercracker almost deflated with relief, grabbing Starscream's hand to give it a comforting squeeze. Starscream squirmed his hand free with a scowl. "Get off me."

Thundercracker tried not to take it personally.

The staff member glanced off to the side, looking down the corridor with a smile, "Ah, here he comes now, I'll leave you in his capable hands..."

She stepped out, and in the doorway in her place, a mech came to stand.

Ratchet, the Autobot Chief Medical Officer, blinked at them.

    The three seekers blinked back.

"I take it back, call Megatron," Starscream was the first to recover from the shock.

Ratchet sighed deeply, but stepped into the room despite it's three dangerous Decepticon occupants. Skywarp, behind him, armed his nullrays.

“Don't even think about, fly boy," Ratchet warned without bothering to turn around, peering down at the monitor displaying Starscream's sparkling.

He straightened up and set his hands on his hips, shaking his head.
