BUZZ! BUZZ! BUZZ! BU-SLAM!

Adalet pulled her hand off of the snooze button and let it hang over the edge of the bed. The sun was shining in through the crack in the curtains casting a warm glow into the room. Fili groaned from beside her and he rolled onto his side and planted a kiss on her cheek.

"Ready for your first day at the bureau?" he asked, his accent even thicker in the morning.

"Yeah," Adalet replied, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes, "what do you and Ahmet have planned for your day in London?"

"I have a meeting with MI6 this morning to finalize the paperwork for my transfer," Fili groaned, already feeling his hand cramping just thinking about how many times he'd have to sign his name, "then I think I'll show Ahmet around, take 'im the London Eye, maybe make time for some book shopping..."

"Just don't take him to platform 9 3/4, I reserve that right!" she declared.

"Yes, yes... I won't take him anywhere near King's Cross station," he vowed, "now come on, let's get ready!"

The couple forced themselves out of the bed and moved around the room as they got ready for the day. Adalet found her cropped red leather jacket with sleeves that stopped at her elbows and a black hood made of specialized sensory deprivation fabric. She then found a burnt orange tank-top, a pair of black fitted pants, and her knee-high dark red, combat-style boots. She slipped her GIA compass into an inner pocket of her coat and cellphone into an outer zipper pocket, strapped her gun onto her belt, then whistled for Loki to jump up and settle in their place wrapped around her neck.

Fili meanwhile pulled out his clothes from his suitcase while Adalet left to make sure their son was up. He found a forest green dress shirt, a black vest, dark brown slacks plus a belt, and dark oxford shoes. Even though he needed to visit MI6, he wasn't going in a full suit no matter what his boss said! He also clipped the compass/clock Adalet had gifted him to his belt and strapped his gun on the other side. As he was tucking a floral patterned pocket square into his vest's pocket Adalet and Ahmet arrived from the adjoining room.

The young boy was wearing black joggers, his running shoes, and the athletic hoodie Adalet and Fili had gotten him for passing with As and Bs on his report card. It had a black body with red sleeves that could cover the back of his hands and had a hold for his thumbs, and a matching red hood. On the left side of the chest, Fili had embroidered the symbol Ahmet had designed to represent his parents. It was sewn with gold-coloured thread and was of a crescent moon interlocking with what at first glance looked like a sun but was actually a sunflower. The moon was for his mom and the sunflower was for his dad. Ahmet already had Scout's backpack on his back, the fox poking out of the opening and resting his head on his owner's shoulder.

"If he decides to practice his parkour while we're out, I'm not chasing after him!" Fili proclaimed.

"Aw!" Ahmet mock wined, "why not!?"

"Because you're dressed for runnin' while I'm wearin' oxfords!" he replied, holding up his foot.

Adalet shook her head but couldn't help the smile on her face, "come on you two, let's go get breakfast before we're running late!"

Grabbing Dean and Hunter, the family headed downstairs to the dining room of their hotel to get some breakfast to start their day. After the hearty English-style breakfast, Adalet wished her boys a good day as they got into their taxi to go to MI6 for Fili's paperwork. Then Hunter and she got into their own taxi and headed over to the Bureau to meet their new boss.

The Bureau's European HQ, London, England...

"Agent Sadik-Halvorsen, it's an honour to meet you. I hear you're an expert on murders... Solving them, that is," a silver-haired woman greeted Adalet as she entered the lobby of the HQ, "welcome to London. My name is Ingrid Bjorn, secretary to the Chief of the Bureau."

"Pleasure to meet you," Adalet replies, "and please, just Adalet is fine, I know my last name can be a mouth full..."

"Duly noted," Ingrid nods, "as I'm sure you've heard, The Bureau are the elite. We report to no government or higher-order, only to justice. We fight the criminals no one else fights... But, let me make this clear: the world's safety is in our hands. This is dangerous, top-secret work and if you're not interested in the challenge, then I suggest you leave now. What do you say?"

"Ingrid, I wouldn't have come to London if I wasn't ready for a challenge!" she says confidently, "I'm not leaving!"

She smiled, "excellent. We understand each other. Now let's meet the Chief."

In the Chief's office...

"Ma'am, this is Agent Adalet, the new recruit," Ingrid announced as she brought Adalet and Hunter into the briefing room.

Chief Elizebeth Ripley stood to shake the agent's hand, "ah, Adalet, just in time! You've been following the news, I presume?"

"Er... No," Adalet admitted, letting go of the hand, "I was a little... Busy, back in Pacific Bay for a while."

"No?! Well, we'd better show you," she turned to her assistant, "Ingrid, fetch the slides."

Ingrid picked up a remote off of the boardroom table and pressed a button to turn on the overhead projector. It projected onto the screen mounted to the wall to display the opening of a slide show titled Europe in Crisis.

"Over the past few months, Europe's been hit by an unprecedented wave of violence," Ingrid explains, clicking the remote to change the slides as she spoke, "terrorist attacks happened in Berlin... and Rome... Every capital in Europe is at the highest level of security alert."

"And these are just the attacks the public knows about!" Elizebeth took over, "we're pretty sure there's someone behind this, but we have no idea who! That's why we brought you to Britain, Adalet. We need to find out who's behind this chaos."

"Where do you want me to go first, Chief?" Adalet inquired, ready for some action.

"You're going to Westminster Lane. Local police have asked for help, I'm not sure what with," she said, assigning the mission, "I'm partnering you with Jack Archer. I believe you've already met. He'll meet you there in about-"

"Ma'am?" Ingrid interrupts, "is it wise to partner Adalet with Jack?! He's a little... Wild."

"Unorthodox is what we need right now," Elizebeth replies, smirking, "besides, with Adalet around, Archer might actually learn something!"

Adalet chuckled, "I have that effect on people... I'll head over there right now, Chief!"

"Good, go down to the garage and take one of the SUVs," Elizebeth instructed, "oh, and here is your new badge, Agent."

Elizebeth grabbed a leather card off the table and passed it to Adalet. The agent flipped it open and saw the top of the card had THE BUREAU printed on blue paper, while below it was her identification photo beside her Bureau badge. She slipped the badge into her empty inner coat pocket before getting directions to the garage to borrow an SUV.

Five minutes later, Adalet and Hunter were driving through the foggy streets of London towards Westminster Lane to meet up with Jack. When she arrived she found that the area had been blocked off by police tape, so she parked as close to the line as she could before getting out. Walking the rest of the way, she was met by a British policeman who blew his whistle to get her attention.

"'Allo 'allo 'allo! What's all this then?! Blimey, don't ya know this is a bleeding crime scene?!" the policeman demanded.

"Er... Yes?" Adalet answers, confused, "you called for the Bureau's help?"

"Oh, it's you Adalet... Don't you recognize me, mate?!" he questioned.

"No? Sorry, it's my first time in London," she apologized.

The policemen removed his fake mustache than his hat revealing Jack Archer underneath, "sorry, about the disguise, Adalet. I was trying to blend in."

"No worries, Jack!" Adalet reassured her partner, "nice disguise, your accent was almost perfect!"

"Oi! My accent is bloody brilliant!" Jack defended, using the fake accent again.

She hums, "uh-huh... You can compare it to my father-in-law's, see if you can spot the differences."

"Accents aside, glad you got here so fast. Something's definitely not right on this street," he gestured to the empty street with his hat, "I've cleared the area so you can have a look around."

"Don't you mean we?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I need to get out of this costume before anyone assumes I'm a real British policeman and asks me about Sherlock Holmes!" he replies, ducking under the tape and heading over to the SUV.

Adalet watched her new partner leave in bemusement, realizing she now worked with someone who had a hobby for playing dress-up... Well, she wasn't one to judge people for their life choices but Jack was right about this team having some quirks. Oh well, it would just make the job more interesting.

She sent Hunter to search the street for anything strange while she walked along the cobblestone path. As Adalet looked around, she picked up some broken pieces of metal off the side of the road before crossing the street. Her dog was on the other side and was barking at a red phone booth that was stationed on the corner in front of a closed pub. Crossing the street she saw the body of a young man dressed in what appeared to be traditional, British royal clothing and was still holding the phone receiver in his hand.

"Jack!" Adalet yells over to the SUV, "we've got a dead body over here!"

Jack jogged over to stand beside her and Hunter, "I'm just a visitor, but I'm guessing a body in a phone box is not an everyday London occurrence!"

"His face looks swollen," she remarks, noticing a strange purplish-gray tint to the man's skin, "like he suffocated!"

He suddenly gasped, "wait a minute! I know who this is, Adalet! It's Prince Albert! He's the heir to the British throne! This is huge! Who'd want to kill a royal? Everyone loves the royal family! I'd better call the chief and update her!"

Jack pulled out his cell phone and dialled the Chief's number, placing the call on speaker while it rang, "Chief, we've got a problem! Prince Albert has been killed on Westminster Lane! What are your orders?"

"Dear God!" Elizebeth cried from the other end, "what was the Prince doing on Westminster Lane?! This is a disaster! Right, keep the murder a secret until we catch this killer. We don't want to start a panic!"

"Understood, Chief!" Adalet says before Jack hangs up the call.

"Okay, Adalet, first we get this body to Angela. She's our genius coroner. She'll be able to tell us something about this prince!" Jack explains, eyeing the shiny broken object in Adalet's hand, "what else did you pick up? Some broken metal pieces. Alright, let's see how fast you can put them back together!"

"Excuse me, out of my way!" an older gentleman orders, trying to move past them, "I've a jolly important meeting with jolly important fellows at the bank!"

"Excuse yourself, pal. This is a crime scene! There's a dead body if you haven't noticed," Jack deadpanned, pointing to the telephone box.

"Goodness gracious! That's the prince!" he gasped, "I... thought I saw something near that telephone box, but I never-"

"You saw something?!" he exclaimed, "right, we will need to talk to you."

"Have you gone potty?! Don't you know who I am?!" the gentleman barked.

He smirks, "the Monopoly guy? Look, I don't care. We're on a murder case, your meeting can wait – justice can't!"

"Apologies for my partner, sir...?" Adalet let the question hang in the air.

"Archibald Gilchrist," the man introduced, "Ms?"

"Agents Adalet and Jack of the Bureau," she replies.

"It's really a crying shame about Prince Albert. My bank is responsible for managing the royal fortune, so I met the fellow often. Damned good chap," Archibald praised.

"You don't seem that upset," Jack commented on the man's cold tone.

He smiles confidently, adjusting his tie, "that's my British stiff upper lip. No need to get all melodramatic and American about something as trivial as murder."

"You mentioned seeing something strange near the phone box. What was it?" Adalet inquired.

"I saw someone hiding in the bushes, watching that telephone box. I presumed it was just some chap with a phone fetish!" he replies, gesturing towards some bushes across the street, "couldn't make out a bloody thing about the shadowy fellow, but I did see them running off to the Globe Theater."

"The Globe Theater?" Jack's face lit up in excitement, "that old-looking theatre in the center of town? That's worth checking out. Let's go, Adalet!"

"In a minute, Jack," Adalet says before turning back to Archibald, "thank you for your time, Mr. Gilchrist, you can go to your meeting now."

Archibald gave a curt nod before continuing down the road towards the bank. With him gone, Adalet took the broken pieces she'd found over to the SUV. She used the hood of the vehicle as a workspace and arranged the pieces together, then grabbed some glue from her case to stick them all together.

"Hey, good job!" Jack praised after Adalet had glued the last piece, "those broken pieces you picked up on the crime scene make this pendant! It looks like a family crest, but whose? And what was it doing next to the Prince's body? You got any tricks up your sleeve for this?"

Adalet smirked, "oh Jack, I have more tricks up my sleeves than a magician... And one of them is access to the Bureau database!"

His jaw dropped, "you have access to the database? Man, you do have high clearance! Okay, well I'll let you run this family crest through the database!"

Adalet lifted the false bottom of her briefcase and pulled her new Bureau tablet out of it. After finding the application for the database, she scanned in the crest and waited a few seconds for it to upload. After comparing aspects of the crest, the database returned with the results for its owner.

"Of course, this wasn't going to belong to an everyday citizen," Adalet rolled her eyes at the results.

Jack peered over her shoulder and whistled, "wow, this case goes to the very top! It says here the crest belongs to Count Rupert!"

"According to the database, Count Rupert is next in line to the throne. If Prince Albert dies, Rupert inherits the crown!" she informs her partner.

"Sounds like this guy has the perfect motive! Come on, let's go talk to him!" he says as backup arrived to take over the scene.

With the area and body in the hands of other Bureau members, Adalet and Jack drove over to the royal palace to find Count Rupert and ask him about his relationship with the victim. After introducing themselves to the guard at the palace gate and informing them of why they were there, the agents were quickly ushered to the palace's private garden where the Count was waiting for them impatiently.

"Do hurry this up," Rupert orders, checking his watch, "one has to get back for one's polo match this afternoon."

'Does he seriously speak in the third person?' Adalet wondered before addressing the Count, "I think your match is going to be cancelled, Your Lordship. Prince Albert was just murdered."

"Good gracious!" he cried, gripping his polo stick tighter, "Albert... dead? How could this be! Who'd want to harm that sweet, innocent man?"

"That's what we're trying to work out. You do know that this now makes you the heir to the throne?" Jack inquired.

"The heir? How... interesting. One is gobsmacked!" Rupert certainly didn't look gobsmacked, if the wicked grin on his face was anything to go by.

"It also makes you a suspect," he adds, suspiciously.

"Don't be absurd! How ridiculous! One would never kill someone, just to..." he laughed before continuing, "become heir to the richest kingdom in the world... that's just poppycock!"

"Of course, just poppycock..." Adalet held back an eye roll, "thank you for your time, your majesty."

"Well, he was... Pleasant," Jack muttered as they walked away, "are all royals so pompous?"

"He's the second Earth royal I've met, so I don't have much experience with them," she shrugged, "my brothers and their mothers are very humble in comparison."

"Wait, you're a royal?!" he cried as they reached the exit.

"No, my brothers are, we're not related by blood," she clarified, "Magnus, my twin brother, is the firstborn, but he doesn't want to be King so our younger brother Tómus is the crown prince of New Asgard. He's always had more interest in politics and leadership."

"Space politics... You learn something new every day," he jokes as they get back into their SUV.

Driving away from the royal palace, Adalet steered the SUV towards the Globe Theater. The place was deserted when they arrived, so Jack and she had privacy to look around for clues. Walking around the stage, Adalet found a large pink trunk overflowing with costumes and props for the performances the theatre put on. While she dragged the trunk onto the stage, Hunter picked up an unlit candle that she found on the foot of the stage steps.

"So that "shadowy fellow" that snooty banker mentioned came to this theatre. Have you found anything that connects them to our case?" Jack inquired.

Adalet dropped the trunk down, "well, Hunter found a candle, and it doesn't look to be a theatre prop!"

"You think that candle could shed some light on why the killer came here?" he joked.

"It looks like something was written on the candle," she remarks, taking the object out of Hunter's mouth, "I'll dust it for a closer look. Oh, and there's also this trunk of costumes."

"Coooool! You picked up a box of costumes. I'll handle this, I'm the master of disguise, after all!" he boasted, setting his coat down.

"Just don't start playing dress-up, Mr. Master of Disguise!" she teased, opening her case.

While Adalet was dusting the candle, Jack began digging into the trunk of costumes. The theatre must have been putting on a production of A Midsummer's Night's Dream because the trunk was filled with frilled collars, decorative masks, and a couple of donkey masks. He was tempted to put on one of the masks but resisted and continued looking until he found some fancy-looking white gloves that didn't look like a part of a theatre costume.

"There's the royal crest on the gloves! Do you think these gloves belonged to our victim?!" Jack wondered, holding them up for Adalet to see.

She pulled her brush away from the candle, "well they look like the kind of gloves a prince might wear, but maybe the lab can determine if they belonged to him for sure!"

"You want to analyze those gloves further? I know just the woman to help – Marina Romanova," he replies, closing the trunk of costumes, "she's our icy Russian profiler and I think she's hot for me!"

"Sure..." Adalet had never met the woman, but she had doubts about that statement, "but on the topic of hot, there was a strange symbol engraved on this candle."

She walked over to show him the strange eye within a triangle that was surrounded by a sun-like outline.

"We're in luck, Adalet! We've hired a new team member: Armand Dupont. He's a historian and symbols, culture, and stuff are his specialty," Jack explains, "The Bureau only recruits the best, but if I'm being honest, Dupont could put me to sleep in a heavy metal concert! But we should still take this candle to him."

"I'll keep that in mind if I ever have trouble sleeping!" she jokes.

Later, at the HQ...

Adalet whistled as they entered the morgue, "nice setup."

"Thank you," a Korean woman smiled as she stood from her desk to greet the agents, "pleased to meet you, I'm your coroner, Angela Douglas."

"And it says that on her Nobel Prize for Biology!" Jack adds cheekily, "cool, huh?!"

"Oh stop, Archer," Angela slapped him lightly, "a Nobel Prize isn't a big deal. Eliciting secrets from dead bodies, now that's-"

BANG!!!!

The three flinched as the explosion rang throughout the room. Smoke billowed into the hallway floating near the ceiling and Adalet was able to make out the sound of hurried footsteps over the ringing in her ears. She picked a bad time to let her senses wander. As she was pulling her hood up to dull her hearing, a blond-haired man covered in soot and carrying a broken test tube came running into the morgue.

"Baby!" the man exclaimed, smiling as bright as the sun, "I've almost worked out the chemical compound of lithium bicarbonate!"

Angela shook her head fondly, "Adalet, this is Lars, my husband. He works in forensics. When he's not blowing things up, that is!"

"For your next explosion, could you give the one with super senses a warning to prepare before the bang?" Adalet requested, Loki vibrating around her neck in agreement.

If it was even possible, Lars smiled even brighter, "oh my god, you're the alien! I knew you were coming today but I still can't believe it!!"

Lars dropped the beaker he was holding into a trash can before running over to stand in front of Adalet. The agent leaned back slightly as the forensics expert examined her eyes.

"Your eyes really do look like they're made of gold! I mean, the Chief showed us pictures but they didn't do you justice!" Lars rambles, bouncing on his feet and as Adalet realized he had an Australian accent, she also discovered that he reminded her of a golden retriever, "can you really fly? How much can you lift? Can you survive in outer space? Have you ever opened a portal to another dimension? Are you-"

"Lars, buddy take a breath!" Jack laughed, "Adalet just got here, she'll have time for questions later."

Lars blushed, "Oh right, sorry Adalet!"

"It's alright, Lars," Adalet replied, "but to answer your questions, yes, 9,000 pounds last time I measured, no I would definitely die, I haven't tried but I should someday."

"Now then, can we get back to the murder?" Angela inquired, reminding them all of the body in the room.

"I still can't believe Prince Albert is dead. What a terrible murder!" Lars sighs, running his finger through his hair to get out some soot.

"You haven't heard the worst of it. The autopsy revealed the Prince was poisoned! His lungs were filled with carbon oxychloride – poisonous gas!" she clarified, crossing her arms, "I examined that phone receiver the Prince was holding. That's where the gas was released! A small canister was hidden inside the phone, designed to release the gas when the phone was spoken into! Pretty sophisticated murder weapon, right?!"

"So the Prince picked up the receiver and was gassed!" Jack summarized, "but what was he doing on Westminster Lane? How did his killer know he would be there?!"

"No idea!" Angela replies, "I can tell you your killer made a mistake. I found traces of Camellia Sinensis inside the device. The killer drank a cup of tea before killing the Prince."

"The killer drinks tea? Isn't that what EVERYONE in Britain drinks all the time?!" he complained.

Adalet raised an eyebrow, "evidence is evidence, Jack, no matter how common it is!"

"Okay, we'll catch this tea-drinking killer even if we have to interview every person on this damn island!" Jack jokes as two new people enter the morgue.

The first was a pretty red-headed woman who was carrying the gloves Jack had found in the costume trunk. The other was an older man in a crisp suit with a walking stick in one hand, and the candle in his other.

"So you're the Agent Adalet everyone is talking about. I'm Dr. Romanova, but you can call me Marina," the red-haired woman introduces, holding out her hand.

"It's nice to meet you, and just Adalet is fine," Adalet responded, shaking the offered hand.

"Hey sweetheart, you never answered about that date we were supposed to go on!" Jack flirts, pulling down his sunglasses. Adalet saw Lars and Angela share a knowing look.

Marina smirks, "oh Archer, the bitten nails on your left hand suggest your charm is skin deep, whereas your side-parted hair tells me you still have issues with your mother. Neither are qualities I look for in a lover."

"The meaner you are to me, the more I like you!" he winks.

"Delusions are never healthy, Archer. Now Adalet," Marina turned to the other agent, "I'll get straight to the point: those gloves you found in the theatre belong to your killer. The royal crest links them to your murder. However, they can't have been the victim's as they seem well used. Princes wear a fresh pair of gloves every day, it's tradition. Furthermore, there are tiny red marks on the glove's tips, consistent with paint from a London phone box. Therefore, they must be the killer's."

"So, you're saying that the killer is a member of the royal family?!" Jack exclaimed.

"Not so simple. Everyone wants "royal style" clothes these days. You can buy these gloves in shops. The interesting thing is, these aren't ordinary gloves. They're horse riding gloves!" she informs them, "Adalet, I'll bet my doctorate that your killer enjoys horse riding!"

"Well, they won't be able to ride horses where they're going!" Adalet declared, "thanks, Marina!"

"Hey Dupont," Jack addressed the man who had come in with Marina, "this is Adalet, our new detective investigating the Prince's murder."

"Ah, Agent Adalet, enchanté. Monsieur Dupont at your service," Dupont bows slightly.

He chuckles, "you French, you're always so charming-"

"How dare you! Ridiculous American boy-child! I am not French! I am from Switzerland!" Dupont shouted.

"Word of warning," Lars whispered to Adalet, "don't mix up his nationality!"

"Noted," Adalet whispered back.

"Yikes!" Jack squeaked, taking a step back, "sorry to wind up your cuckoo clock there! Will you just tell us about this symbol Adalet found on that candle?"

"Ah, bien sûr, the candle! It was most illuminating. That symbol is clearly a "magic spell". Superstitious nonsense, if you ask me!" he scoffed, "the only time I've seen this symbol is in a book written by some mad monk called Brother Klaus. He is a very strange man, I'm surprised the British police haven't arrested him! If you found it in the theatre, Adalet, that must be where Klaus is hiding. A dark and sombre theatre? He must feel right at home!"

"Okay..." Jack smiles nervously, "so we're going back to that creepy theatre to talk to a creepy monk about a murder... Cool. I'm going to let you lead on this one, Adalet! I'm sure you can handle it..."

"Thanks for the vote of confidence, Jack!" Adalet teased.

Taking the candle back and thanking the experts for their work, Adalet and Jack returned to the Globe Theater to find a talk to Brother Klaus about his "magic spell".

"Hello? Is there anyone there?!" Jack calls out, "honestly, Adalet, I don't think there's anyone here, Dupont must've-"

"Who dares disturb me?!" a robe-wearing, albino man roared, appearing before them seemingly out of thin air.

"Oh my God! Adalet, save me!" he cried, jumping on his new partner.

"This brings back memories..." Adalet muttered before shaking Jack off of her.

"No. I am no God. I am just a monk. Hiding in this theatre from the wickedness of the world!" Brother Klaus proclaims, "I have seen many things. The fall of mankind, the destruction of souls under the crushing weight of modernity, the fires of Hades burning human flesh!"

"And I'm the descendant of the god Heimdall," Adalet deadpanned, "hows the Underworld this time of year?"

"Foolish mortal, you know nothing of the world you speak of!" he roared.

"Okay... Adalet... I doubt we're going to get much out of this guy. I don't think he could even tell us what planet he's currently on!" Jack groaned.

"Vermin! Ghouls! The Antichrist is coming for you! Your sins shall have nowhere to hide!" Brother Klaus shouts.

"Thank you for all the advice, Brother Klaus. We'll come back when you're... less crazy!" he yells the last part as they hightailed it out of the theatre.

Later, back at headquarters...

"First day on the job and we've got ourselves a murder more than British cricket!" Jack laughs, "so who'd you think killed the Prince? I have a few theories..."

"Lay them on me," Adalet replies, sitting on top of the boardroom table.

"Firstly, that banker dude. He didn't seem upset about Prince Albert's death, but that could just be his "stiff upper lip"!" he mimicked the man's British accent before continuing, "Count Rupert, the new heir to the throne, wasn't that cut up either. He was more interested in how much money he'll get. So much for royal duty! We know the killer rides horses and drinks tea... that could be anyone in this damn country, from a chimney sweep to the Queen of England! Ha! Yeah, wouldn't that be funny, if the Queen turned out to be a suspect? Would we get beheaded for that?"

"Gods I hope not! I like my head attached!" she laughed.

"Agent Adalet! You are to come with me at once!" a royal guard announced as he entered the boardroom.

"Wait a minute, you can't just barge in here! What authority do you have?!" Jack demanded.

"The Queen of England's authority! Her Majesty wants to speak with you!" he informed them.

"The Queen of England wants to speak to us?! Man, we must be in trouble!"

"She must know we're busy investigating her grandson's murder! Um... what happens if we don't go?" Adalet inquired.

The guard glares with clear impatiens, "the castle has plenty of dungeons... Follow me!"

"Following!" Adalet says, grabbing Jack's arm and dragging him along.

Later, in the Queen's castle...

"Her Majesty will receive you shortly! Wait here and don't touch anything!" the guard ordered before marching out of the treasure room.

"Brings us to the treasure room and expects us not to want to touch anything!" Adalet shakes her head, "unbelievable..."

"There's that famous British politeness for you!" Jack quipped.

"On the plus side, if this is the Queen's castle, then the victim lived here too!" she reasoned.

"Adalet, you're right! Do you think there might be some clues here?" he wondered.

"It wouldn't hurt to have a look around at the treasure..." she hums.

He grinned, "come on, let's have a look around while we wait for the Queen."

While they waited for the Queen's arrival, Adalet had Hunter sniff around the treasure room for clues. After a few minutes of the dog sniffing the suits of armour and display cases, Hunter sat down in front of an open treasure chest and barked. Adalet and Jack came over to see what the dog had found and Adalet pulled a sword out of the chest while Jack bent down to pick up a faded book off the ground beside the chest.

"What a place, Adalet! Can you imagine living here?" Jack asks as he grabs the book off the ground, "it must be like being an exhibit in a museum!"

"Or living in the past," Adalet countered, turning the sword around with her hand.

"But I've gotta say, there's some cool stuff. Look at those suits of armour. And that sword you picked up! You want to have a duel?! En garde!" he cried, striking a horrible imitation of a fencing pose.

She smirked as she traced the edge of the blade with her finger, "if this sword wasn't blunt, I could decapitate you before you even felt the blade touch your neck."

He pales hearing that statement, "right, sword fightings a thing where you're from... Oh hey, look! That's the Prince's crown on the hilt, too. And what are those blue crystals on it? They can't be jewels? Better collect a sample. And I'm gonna level with you. I don't know much about books. So you're going to have to tell me why Hunter picked this one out."

Hunter stood on her hind legs and supported herself by placing her paws on Jack's forearms. Then the dog nuzzled the torn remains of where a page had been ripped out of the book.

"Oh right, someone's ripped a page out!" Jack says while Hunter dropped back down to the floor, "come on, let's get your dusting kit so we can find out what was written there!"

Adalet set her case down on the floor and opened it to get the supplies. As she was grabbing the dusting kit, Jack looked through her case for something. He let out a cry of triumph when he found what he was looking for and pulled out what looked like a tiny handheld vacuum with a small bag attached to the back end of the device.

"Great, you have one! Adalet, our scientists created a new device to collect substances. We're pretty proud of it. It vacuums up samples from any surface!" Jack explains, turning the vacuum on then off to let her hear the sound, "I thought we could use it on those crystals! Don't worry if you don't get all the particles first time around. Not everyone is as good at using it as me! But good luck anyway!"

Adalet and Jack swapped tools and began examining the clues. Jack dusted the blank page in the book while Adalet tried out the mini vacuum. Holding the hilt of the sword steady, she turned on the vacuum and slowly passed the nozzle over the shiny blue crystals. The vacuum sucked each crystal up and automatically deposited them into the bag on the back and once the last crystal had been collated, Adalet turned off the vacuum then removed the bag and sealed it closed.

Jack's jaw was open in shock as he watched her pack up the vacuum, "Adalet! How... How did you collect those crystals so quickly?! You're an absolute natural!"

"You're acting like vacuums haven't been around for decades," Adalet teases, "and they're not just an Earth thing, you know!"

"I'll let you rest whilst I take this sample to Lars," he offered, passing her the book, "let's see if he finds anything interesting about these blue crystals you found on that sword."

"You retrieved the text from the missing page!" she beams, but her smile falls as she reads the recovered message, "errr... What does "When beggars die there are no comets seen" mean?"

He sighed, "I guess we should get this to Dupont to decipher. Let me just grab a very strong coffee first!"

The agents quickly put the sword back where they found it and packed the clues into Adalet's case. Though the book was too big and she needed to put it into a pocket dimension for the time being. They finished cleaning up just in time, right after Jack had closed Adalet's case and the Asgardian had sealed her portal, the guard finally returned with the Queen of England beside him.

The guard snapped into a salute, "all rise for Her Majesty, Queen Mary III!"

"He knows it's just us, right?" Jack whispered out of the side of his mouth, "and that we're already standing."

"Shh!" Adalet shushed her partner.

"So, you are investigating my grandson's murder. We will be keeping a very close eye on the investigation. The killer, when caught, must be brought to us!" Queen Mary orders.

"Errr ma'am, we can't do that," Jack gulps, "this isn't the Middle Ages, we have rules and-"

"We are the law! We want this killer caught and brought before us before we finish our afternoon tea. They will pay for this terrible crime! Is that clear?!" she demanded.

"Your Majesty. Can you tell us anything about your grandson? Did he have enemies? Would anyone wish him harm?" Adalet inquired.

"Enemies? Preposterous! Everyone adored Albert. Servants, the public, his family. When I taught him how to ride a horse, even his pony adored him!" Queen Mary boasted, "now away with you. And bring us this killer."

"You're not going to have us beheaded if we don't, are you?" Jack asks, trying to lighten the mood.

The Queen gave him an unimpressed look, "we are not amused."

Analyze Blue Crystals and Message...

"Adalet, what do you think of this lyric for a song: "She had eyes like blue crystals, really cool. Like a hot summer sunshine across a swimming pool"!" Lars sang as the agents entered his lab.

"It's very poetic," Adalet answers, "I'm not a composer though!"

"Lars isn't just an awesome forensic scientist, he is also in an EPIC metal band! How cool is that?!" Jack grins, slinging an arm around the blond man's shoulders.

"Thanks, man. I'm sure Adalet doesn't want to talk about Death metal. You want to talk about those blue crystals you found on the victim's sword!" Lars picks up the bag containing the crystals, "those crystals are calcium hypochlorite. They're an old-fashioned cleaning product. Thing is, they're poisonous... and I found traces of the same poison used to kill your victim!"

"What?!" Jack exclaimed, taking his arm off Lars, "we need to find who was using these cleaning crystals on that sword!"

He passed Adalet a paper, "I checked who does the cleaning at the castle. It's a chambermaid called Enid Grimshaw. I think you need to talk to her!"

Adalet took the page and scanned the maid's information, "will do, thanks, Lars!"

They left the forensics lab and Jack led Adalet to Dupont's library/office. The room was warm and welcoming, with bookcases lining the walls and a workspace set up in the far corner. Dupont was sitting behind the desk with the book they sent him opened to the message in front of him.

"Oh, Adalet, Adalet, wherefore art thou Adalet? Is this a clue I see before me?" Dupont mused mysteriously.

"Quit talking in riddles, Dupont," Jack groaned, "what have you got on this message we found in the castle?!"

He chuckled, "quel dommage, you didn't pay attention at school, Archer. Then you'd have been able to recognize this message is from your killer!"

"How did you work that out?" Adalet inquired.

"When beggars die, there are no comets seen" is a quote from Shakespeare's play, "Julius Caesar". But the next line is: "The heavens themselves blaze for the death of princes"!" Dupont quoted for them.

"The death of princes?! This Shakespeare quote is about dead Princes! Like our victim!" Jack exclaimed, understanding the reference.

"And I took the liberté of asking that garçon in forensics to check that book. He found traces of tea and horsehair. It is your killer's message, Adalet, I swear it!" he declared, "this means just one thing. You are looking for a killer who quotes Shakespeare."

"They say all that glitters is not gold, but the cuffs will certainly make our killer shine!" Adalet says, "thank you, Dupont!"

"Jeez," Jack whispered as they left the library, "I was afraid Dupont was about to recite the whole of Romeo and Juliet!"

"But on the topic of plays, specifically Shakespearean plays, if the killer is such a fan, they must have spent a lot of time in the Globe Theater! Let's go check it out again!" she decided.

They returned to the royal palace first to talk to Enid Grimshaw about the chemicals on the victim's sword before searching the Globe Theater again. A palace guard showed them inside to the room the maid was currently cleaning and announced their arrival to Enid before returning to his post.

"Am I in trouble?" Enid immediately asked, "honestly, I have never done anything wrong in all my life."

"You're not in trouble, Miss Grimshaw. We wanted to ask you about Prince Albert's murder. It's just-"

"Can I get you some tea?" she offers, cutting Jack off, "I usually have a fresh pot on around now."

"Miss Grimshaw. We've gotta-"

"Perhaps some cake. Maybe I could find some cake-"

"Miss Grimshaw!" Adalet raised her voice, startling the maid into silence, "I apologize for yelling, we're here to ask you about Prince Albert's murder. You use a lot of poisonous chemicals when you're cleaning this castle, have any gone missing?"

"None that I know of. Are you saying I stole something? I'm no thief, I swear. I'd never steal from the Prince! He was... He was..." Enid sobbed, "he was such a good master. He was so nice! Who would want to kill him?!"

Jack smiles nervously, "um... Adalet, I think this is a dead-end... And a woman crying is like my greatest fear. Let's get out of here."

Leaving the palace, Adalet and Jack return to the Globe Theater to search for more clues to help their investigation. They made a search around the prop well that was set up near the stage and found what appeared to be a torn painting on the ground and a pigeon strutting around on the fake well. That wouldn't have been such a strange sight if it wasn't for the small red canister strapped to its back. The pigeon noticed them and flew to sit on Jack's shoulder.

The agent froze in fear, not daring to move an inch, "why in God's name did you pick up a disease-ridden, mangy old pigeon! Get this thing off me!!!"

BIM! BAM!

"SQUAWK! SON-OF-A..."

While the pigeon was pecking at Jack's head, Adalet grabbed the canister and detached it from the bird's back. With its cargo gone, the pigeon fled from the fight leaving Jack covered in feathers with dishevelled hair.

"That. Was. Horrible..." Jack says, shaking the feather out of his hair.

"Turns out it was a carrier pigeon," Adalet said, taking a small scroll out of the canister, "I got this scroll off its back. We'll need to clean up the message on it, it's all faded."

"I need to clean up too. Can I use that torn paper you found?" he asks

"Why would you use torn paper, which is a clue might I ask, to clean up?!" she demanded.

"No? It's a clue? Okay then," he holds his hands up in surrender, "better put the pieces back together then!"

While Jack picked the remaining feathers out of his hair, Adalet dusted the faded note the pigeon had been carrying. She recovered most of the message, but unfortunately, the last line hadn't been fully written out, so parts of the letters were missing.

"Damn, Adalet!" Jack cursed, "that scroll you found on that pigeon said, "The Prince is finally dead!" Someone was sending a message about Prince Albert!"

"It looks like there's some kind of code at the bottom of the message," Adalet remarks, referring to the unfinished final line.

"Do you think you can decipher it?"

"Is grass green?"

"... Alright hotshot."

"Oh, you have no idea..."

While Adalet deciphered the letters, Jack wrote down on a sticky note each letter she called out. Soon they had the code "SQR GH2'' recovered but the meaning behind it was still a mystery.

"Great job, you worked out the code on that pigeon's scroll in no time!" Jack celebrated, "we have a hacker working for us back at The Bureau. Elliot's... um... a little weird, but we better get this code to him."

Putting the message into her case, Adalet grabbed her tape to piece the torn paperback together. After piecing the paper back together, it turned out to be a painting of two young boys, one dressed in red and the other wearing green.

"Nice job, Adalet. So those torn pieces you found at the theatre make a painting of some rich kids!" Jack remarks, admiring the beautiful brushwork.

"This is a painting of Prince Albert and Count Rupert when they were younger. Their names are on it!" Adalet points to the plaque on the bottom of the frame, "by the looks of this picture, they weren't the best of pals! Let's go speak to the Count again!"

Dropping the scroll off at the Bureau headquarters for Elliot to analyze, Adalet and Jack continued back to the royal palace to ask Count Rupert why he didn't get along with the victim when they were younger.

"Count Rupert," Adalet addressed the heir, "we found this painting of you and the victim. Doesn't look like you were best friends, does it?"

"Oh, you found that, did you? One did order for that to be destroyed. Well, one supposes you want the truth," Rupert sighed, "the truth is Albert was a downright bully! One despised him! Oh, everyone thought he was Prince Charming, but underneath all the smiles he was more like Prince Charmless! When we were younger, Albert bullied one frightfully! He made all the servants call me "Poo-pert"! He once poured hot tea over my head! Every time one drinks a cup of Earl Grey, one remembers the indignity! At boarding school, Albert trained our polo pony to rear up when one tried to ride it! It was too much!"

"You hated him because he picked on you?! That's what cousins do! It's normal!" Jack insisted.

"One is not "normal"! One is royalty!" he shot back, "as Shakespeare says: "As jewels lose their glory if neglected, so Princes their renowns if not respected!". One demands respect!"

"Respect doesn't come with birth, Your Majesty. It's earned," he glared.

Rupert smirked evilly, "oh, one will see about that!"

Analyze Number...

"Oh, Archer, shouldn't you be at the gym, pretty boy? And who's this you're with? Didn't know you were dating someone!" a punk-themed teen scowled at the agents who entered his lab.

Jack rolls his eyes, "very funny Elliot. This is Adalet, our new agent, so why not grow a personality and be helpful."

"So you're the one who brought me this code. Thanks for that. I needed something to get me to sleep. It was soooo boring," Elliot yawns, slouching in his chair, "it's a simple substitution code. A child could have cracked it! It spells out the name Klaus Weissman."

"That's got to be Brother Klaus! So he was the one who wrote that message celebrating the Prince's death!" Adalet deduced, "let's get some answers from that mad monk."

"See you later, brains!" Jack calls to the hacker as they leave the lab.

"Cheers, Archer. Hope you catch your "killer" or whatever," Elliot mumbled, turning back to his computer screen.

Back at the Globe Theater, they found Brother Klaus sitting backstage at a makeshift table made of crates eating what appeared to be a cup of tea and some green crackers.

"I see you have returned! What do you want, heathens? You've interrupted my dinner of mouldy crackers and a cold tea!" Brother Kalus spat.

Adalet gags at his choice of food, "Brother Klaus, explain this message! You were happy that the Prince was dead?!"

"You cannot shame me! When you told me the Prince was dead, I was delighted! I sent my favourite carrier pigeon with that message to a fellow believer to celebrate the news!" he explains, stroking the head of a pigeon that stood on his 'table', "that prince was a symbol of everything that is evil in this country! Inherited power, sin-loving freedom. He had to be destroyed if a new order is to be created!"

"Destroyed? Are you confessing?!" Jack demanded, "you murdered him to create a "new order"!"

"How dare you! I don't kill," Brother Kalus denies, "I'm just a messenger! No, some other righteous soul removed Albert."

"Messenger"?!" he echoed in disbelief, "spreading fear and relishing murder? What else have you got planned? Blowing up Parliament?!"

"As Shakespeare says: "When sorrows come, they come not single spies, but as battalions!" he quotes, "my mission hasn't even begun!"

Later, back at headquarters...

"Have we stepped back in time, Adalet? Castles, swords, and mad monks?! Any minute now, Robin Hood is going to swing through the window and tell us HE killed Prince Albert!" Jack rants, pacing the boardroom.

"It's times like this we could use Sherlock Holmes," Adalet quipped, petting Hunter, "so far, we know Prince Albert was murdered with poison gas on a London street by a tea-drinking, horse riding, Shakespeare quoting killer!"

"If you ask me, we should just arrest Brother Klaus," he says, "that mad monk confessed to being delighted that the Prince was dead!"

"Unfortunately celebrating someone's death isn't a murder conviction," she replies, "though it is morbid."

"Yeah, it's not enough for a conviction. But what about Count Rupert and the Queen? Could this be a royal plot?!" he speculates.

"We can't accuse a royal of something without solid evidence," she argued, "if we accuse them of murdering the Prince, who knows what they might do!"

"All rise for His Majesty! Prince Rupert of England!" a royal guard orders, announcing the prince's arrival.

"What?! "Prince Rupert"?" Jack repeated, "I thought he was just Count Rupert!"

"Hahaha, daft little peasant! Don't you see? As heir to the throne, one is now Prince!" Rupert laughs, "and one has come to make you pay for insulting us! Guards! Arrest Agent Adalet Sadik-Halvorsen and Jack Archer!"

"What? You're arresting us when we're investigating your cousin's murder?!" Adalet cried, shocked. Her first day with the Bureau and she was already being arrested, that had to be a new record.

"As the new heir to the throne, one can do what one likes. And one wants to see you in a dungeon!" Rupert continues to laugh merrily.

"You can't touch me, I'm an American!" Jack argued, "and your guards don't scare us! People wearing such stupid hats couldn't scare a child!"

Guard took a fighting stance, "well, we can see about that!"

"Wait! Hold everything! You cannot arrest these officers!" Dupont yelled as he rushed into the room, having heard the commotion from his library, "The Foreign Policing Act of 1724 says international police officers are allowed until sunset to finish their work, should they be arrested!"

"Poppycock! That can't be true?!" Rupert insisted.

"Britain, monsieur, has hundreds of fascinating ancient laws. For example, you're only allowed to throw paper airplanes on weekends, a pregnant woman is allowed to urinate in your hat..." he lectured, Jack and Adalet blink at that last law, "I could go on. But I may bore you. However, the law is clear. These officers must have until sunset to complete their work!"

"Fine. One will delay the pleasure of seeing you in prison... Till sunset!" he declared, storming out of the room.

"Phew!" Dupont breathed, "that bought you some time at least!"

"Dupont! Finally, your boring old books come in handy. I could hug you!" Jack laughs in relief.

"No time for hugs, monsieur! I suggest you go at once to Westminster Lane. There's a rumour that the Prince went there often at night!" the historian informed them.

"You're right, Dupont! We still don't know what the Prince was doing in such an unusual place in the middle of the night. Do you think he was meeting someone?" he suggested.

"There's only one way to find out!" Adalet answers, "come on Jack, let's head to Westminster Lane, there isn't a moment to lose!"

With the deadline of sunset looming over them, Adalet and Jack rushed back to Westminster Lane to search for more clues to help their investigation. There was a double-decker red bus parked near the phone booth, so they took a look around it and found some promising items. There was a brown leather-bound diary, some forgotten shopping bags with the United Kingdom flag printed on them, and lastly some colourful torn paper.

"Right, Adalet, we have until sunset to solve this case!" Jack reminds, checking his watch, "what did you find?!"

"A diary, some shopping bags, and torn paper," Adalet answered, listing off the new clues.

"That diary you've found has the Prince's name on it! And look at his last entry: "I don't want to be the Prince anymore!"," he read after opening the book to the latest entry, "Woah, this victim just got interesting! We need to find out more about this! Let's see what that grease stain can tell us. Better collect a sample."

She took the book back and began collecting a sample as Jack looked at the remaining clues.

"That torn paper's got to tell us something, Adalet. I've got a good feeling about it. Let's put it back together," Jack continues, "and what's that? Someone's left their shopping bags on the street? I know you're a good Samaritan, but there isn't time to look for a Lost and Found!"

"No, but there is time to search for clues!" Adalet responded, finishing up with collecting a sample of the orange grease.

"Well, if you think there's something in there, get searching!" he says, "and excellent work collecting that grease sample from the victim's diary. Let's hope Lars has time to analyze it..."

"Well he's not the one with a warrant over his head," she argues.

Placing the sample into her case for safekeeping, Adalet and Jack each took one of the shopping bags to look through. They must have belonged to a tourist as everything inside was assorted souvenirs from London gift shops. No idea why anyone would want briefs with a map of the London Underground printed on them but they weren't here to judge people's fashion choices. (Well Jack might be but Adalet wasn't). In Adalet's bag, she found a large gold and jewel-encrusted orb that felt and looked too real to be a novelty replica.

"I'll be a monkey's uncle! These shopping bags you found on that London street did have something interesting in them. This... this jewelled orb!" Jack admired the shiny object, "it looks royal. Is it part of the Crown Jewels? But what's it doing here?!"

"Look, there's some substance on this orb," Adalet noticed, grabbing another swabbing kit and collecting a sample, "this is bound to tell us what this orb was doing on the crime scene! Let's get it to Lars!"

Putting the sample in her case beside the other one she grabs her tape to repair the torn paper. She restored the newspaper called 'The Moon' with one of their suspects on the cover. Archibald Gilchrist was featured on the cover with the title of an exclusive article beside him.

"That torn paper you found on the crime scene was a newspaper!" Jack remarks, "look! That headline's about our victim and Gilchrist! "What a total Banker: Prince Albert speaks out against Gilchrist"."

"So, it turns out the banker we met on the crime scene does have a motive for getting rid of the Prince! The Prince spoke out against him!" Adalet muses, "let's go find out more from Gilchrist. Come on, this could keep us out of jail!"

Finding the bank Archibald worked at wasn't very difficult, the article listed the name of it in the content. After being shown to his office, they sat down at the desk across from the banker to ask Archibald why the Prince disliked him.

"So Gilchrist, what did you do to annoy the Prince so much he "spoke out" against you in a newspaper?" Adalet inquired, placing the newspaper down on the desk for the banker to see.

"Ah. You found that. Dash it all, I wanted to keep that secret," Archibald cursed, "you see, the Prince took issue with my bank's plan to turn children's hospitals into shopping centers..."

Jack's jaw dropped, "that's... That's just plain evil!"

"There's nothing evil about profit! Becoming the richest bank in the world is worth a few sick children if you ask me!" he smiles proudly, "anyway, we had to cancel the project after the Prince spoke against it. Now we're so skint, I've had to stop adding sugar to my tea! Can you imagine?!"

"The horror," Adalet deadpanned, "so the Prince stopped your devilish plan? Excuse me if I don't shed a tear. We'll be keeping a close eye on you!"

Leaving the bank they returned to the Bureau's headquarters to give the samples to Lars for analysis. As they entered the forensics lab, they saw the blonde finishing a frantic phone call with a promise to be somewhere soon. Lars nearly knocked them over as he rushed towards the door, and stopped to explain where he was going.

"Dudes! I am so sorry! I can't help with this substance," Lars apologizes, "our babysitter just called – one of our daughters just tried to hot-wire my Harley!"

"Your daughter tried to steal your motorbike?!" Jack cried, "Woah, even your kids are cool!"

"They're very gifted... But anyway, don't worry. I just got this new microscope, it's super easy to use – you just match molecules. You can use that to analyze this substance you got from the orb," he offers, showing them the microscope he was referring to.

"Don't worry, man. Adalet and I will give this new microscope a whirl!" he assured, "let's analyze this substance!"

While Lars left to go deal with his daughter, Adalet took the sample out of her case to analyze it. Sliding it under the microscope, she turned the dial to bring the image into focus while Jack sat down at the computer the microscope was projecting the result on. He clicked the molecules in the image that were a match to the ones the program generated, and once he had made the four correct matches, the results were displayed on the screen.

"Adalet! That substance you found on that orb was sweat! And according to the database, it matches Enid Grimshaw!" Jack reports, turning the monitor for her to see the results, "how did this end up on the crime scene? Did that chambermaid steal it?!"

"It certainly looks possible!" Adalet agrees, "come on! That chambermaid's got a story to tell and we need to hear it!"

This time they summoned the chambermaid to their headquarters to ask Enid if she stole the orb. They brought her into an interrogation room, and Adalet placed the orb and a printout of the DNA results on the table for the maid to see.

"We found the golden orb on Westminster Lane, Enid. Did you steal it?!" Adalet questioned.

"I'm no thief! The Prince gave it to me!" Enid insisted.

"Are we supposed to believe that?!" Jack glares.

She blushed, "well... if you need to know... We were in love! We were lovers!"

"What?!" he exclaimed, "I don't want to be harsh. But doesn't every girl imagine a prince being in love with her? Surely it was just a fling?"

"If he didn't love me, why did he teach me how to horse ride?! Why did he give me precious jewels?! Why did he meet me every night in secret on Westminster Lane and kiss me beneath the moon?!" Enid exploded, tears burning in her eyes, "we loved each other... Oh, Albert. "Goodnight, sweet prince. And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest"."

"It seems falling for a prince isn't always a fairytale. I hope you aren't hiding any more secrets from us, Enid," he told her.

Examine Grease...

"I take it your daughter didn't manage to steal your motorcycle?" Adalet guessed, seeing Lars back inside his lab.

Lars laughs, "haha, no, I managed to catch her before she got out the driveway!"

"Did you have time to look at that grease?" she inquired.

"That grease you sent over made me kinda hungry, so I thought I'd get in some pizza and beers if you like?" he offered.

"Sorry bro, we're on the clock here!" Jack taps his watch, "we need to solve this case before sunset or we go to jail!"

"Woah! Bad times, dude! I'll be quick then. The grease you found blew my mind. At first, I thought it was from duck meat. But then I realized... It's from swan meat!" Lars explains, "there's some ancient law against eating swan in England. The only person allowed to eat swan is... the Queen!"

"What?!" he yelped, "so this proves the Queen of England read the Prince's diary! We need to go back and talk to Her Majesty!"

Returning to the royal palace and requesting an audience with the queen, Adalet and Jack waited several minutes to be shown into the throne room so that they could ask the Queen why she was interested in the Prince's diary.

"So you have brought us news concerning our grandson's murderer! Tell us immediately!" the Queen orders.

"Well, we're finding it a bit hard, Your Majesty. What with us only having until sunset to solve the case!" Adalet replies.

"Ah, we have heard that Count Rupert is causing you some... difficulty. Perhaps the threat of arrest will make you find this killer faster!" she hums thoughtfully.

"Okay, so there's no time for niceties – why did you read your grandson's diary?" Jack questioned.

"Why shouldn't we look in his diary?! We were worried about him! Albert was creeping out of the castle at night, he was having... opinions! Then I saw in that diary he no longer wanted to be prince!" the Queen scoffed, "it's not a simple thing to be royal. As Shakespeare says: "Uneasy is the head that wears the crown". A prince's job is to smile, wave and be handsome. That is all! But perhaps Albert wanted more than that. Perhaps, we may have failed him. Don't fail him too, Agents!"

Later, on Westminster Lane...

"Seriously, what's wrong with these people?!" Jack pulls at his hair in dismay, "the Queen's snooping? Albert's affair with the chambermaid?! And as for Count Rupert-"

"There you are!" Rupert himself calls as he approached them, checking his watch, "one wanted to see if you had solved the murder yet? Time is ticking, after all. Sunset approaches!"

"For a Prince, you seem to be spending a lot of time following us. Haven't you got crowds to wave at or a servant to beat?!" he asks, smirking.

"Very funny, Mr. Archer. Some time in prison should wipe the smile off your face! See you very soon..." he chuckled, walking away from the agents.

"Man, I hope that guy's the killer! I would love to go to that castle and arrest that arrogant, stuck-up, self-important-"

"The castle!" Adalet cut her partner off, "whether or not he's the killer, there's bound to be more clues there. Let's go check it out before it's too late!"

Going back to the royal palace, they were surprisingly allowed back inside and shown to the treasure room, the guard even left them alone to search it! Looking around the room they found a map of the London Underground tube stuck under the foot of a suit of armour, and a stone tomb with an ajar lid.

"Time's running out, Adalet! Jail is getting closer, and I'm too pretty to go to prison! So, what did you find in the castle?!" Jack cried.

"This is a map of the London Underground. And look! Someone's circled "Westminster Lane"! That's where the Prince was found!" Adalet showed him the spot circled in red, "if this is a map to our murder scene, let's collect a sample of those hairs and see what they tell us!"

"That tomb you found is creepy. Why are you so interested in it?" he inquired, seeing Hunter sitting beside the stone tomb.

"It's recently been opened," she nods towards the lid.

"It's been recently opened? Well, better search through all those bones and stuff and see what you find. Rather you than me!" he says, taking a step back.

"Ah yes, because I love searching through old bones," she rolls her eyes, picking some of the hairs off the map to put in a bag, "just how I like to spend my Thursdays!"

"Awesome! You collected a hair sample from the London Underground map you found in the castle," he grinned, "quick! Let's get this to Lars before our time runs out!"

Adalet handed the bag and map to Jack for him to hold while she walked over to the tomb. The lid wasn't too heavy (by her standards) so she carefully lifted it off and placed it on the floor before peering inside. The tomb was filled with old weapons including swords, maces, flails, shields, and axes with minimal bones, probably only a skeleton's worth. Something small and red caught her eye and she reached inside to pull out a paper poppy pin.

"Good work! What was this paper poppy doing in that tomb?! Everything else was ancient!" Jack comments while Adalet paced the lid back on the tomb, "let's get it to Marina, making sense of random things is her specialty!"

Analyze Hair and Poppy...

"Guys, I know you don't have much time, so I'll be as fast as I can," Lars promised, "that hair you found on that map of the London Underground is your killer's!"

"What?! Dude, how did you figure that out?!" Jack asks, confused.

"I found traces of the poison gas the killer used in the hair!" he explains, "the hair was so damaged by damp, so I couldn't get any of the killer's DNA. I can, however, tell you something about them. Their blood type is A+!"

"Swift work, dude," he praised, "come on Adalet! The sun is almost down and we are this close to catching Prince Albert's killer!"

"Well, Adalet and Archer, nice to see you again," Marina hums as she entered the lab, "it's-"

"Sorry, Marina," Jack apologizes as Lar and Adalet roll their eyes, "we don't have time for you to flirt with me and say how handsome I am. You need to tell us what that paper poppy Adalet found in the castle means!"

"I'll survive, Archer. Now Adalet, the poppy is an important symbol in Britain. Every year, people wear them to commemorate soldiers who've died in war," she lectured, "this poppy's crinkled edges and discoloration suggests it's often been near cups of tea. A slight smell of manure tells me it was bought at a race track, probably by a horse rider."

"Wait, tea and horses? That poppy must belong to the killer!" Adalet reasoned.

"Yes!" Marina confirmed, "there's a lot of social pressure to wear a poppy in Britain, so if the killer lost this one, you can bet your life they got a new one."

"So the killer will be wearing a poppy! Excellent! We're one step closer, Adalet! Come on, there's not much time left!" Jack says, checking the time, "the sun is almost down and I can practically smell Count Rupert's dungeon! Please tell me you've got everything you need to catch this killer, Adalet?"

Adalet looked at the suspect lineup on her tablet, "Lars and Marina gave us the last pieces of evidence we need to arrest them!"

"You have?! Well, what are we waiting for?! Come on, let's arrest Prince Albert's murderer!" he cried, running out of the lab.

Take care of the killer now!

"Enid Grimshaw, we know you killed Prince Albert. It'll be best if you just confess!" Adalet advised.

"That ain't true! I ain't done nothing!" Enid denies quickly.

"Your hair on this London Underground map proves you killed him!" she argues, holding up the paper.

"Nonsense! I'm a good girl, I am!" she insisted, biting her nails.

"Agent Adalet found the Shakespearean message you wrote about dead Princes!" Jack adds.

"Please stop. Don't say any more!" Enid sobs.

"We found your horse riding gloves in the Globe Theater. We know it was you!" he yelled.

"You... you found my gloves. He... he bought those for me. I must have dropped them after I ran away," she wipes her eyes, "I really did love him, you know. I didn't know it would kill him. They made me do it!"

"Who made you do it? Who are "they"?!" he demanded.

"I don't know... I was sent a note. It said if I didn't do what they told me, they would kill me and Albert! I was terrified. I told Albert, but he didn't take it seriously. But I didn't want us to die!" Enid cries, "so I left Albert that message, a quote from Shakespeare. It meant, "meet me in the usual place". Shakespeare's quotes were our special, romantic code. As my instructions told me, I had hidden that device they'd sent me in the phone. Then I rang the phone... When I saw what happened... the gas... Albert dead. I didn't know what to do. I swear I never knew it was poison! I would never have killed him. I loved him!"

"I'm sorry Enid. If you can't tell us who made you do this, we'll have to hold you responsible. Enid Grimshaw," Adalet pulls out her handcuffs, "you're under arrest for the murder of Prince Albert"

To the Courthouse!

"Order in the court!" The judge rapped his gavel several times to silence the noise, "I'm Judge Adaku. The Bureau has just dragged me out of retirement in the Bahamas to run this court, so I'm not in the mood for forgiveness! Enid Grimshaw, you stand accused of the murder of Prince Albert, heir to the throne of England. How do you plead?"

"Guilty, your honour. I killed Albert whichever way you look at it," Enid sniffed.

"You know in England the penalty for killing a member of the royal family is death by beheading?" Judge Adaku inquires.

The maid gasped, "no... you can't be serious... not my head! Please don't cut off my head!"

"This is your lucky day, Ms. Grimshaw. This is an international court. We don't behead people. So I hereby sentence you to 10 years in prison!" he orders, slamming his gavel down to seal his verdict.

"Not bad for your first day on the job, Adalet!" Jack congratulates as they leave the courtroom, "uncovering a prince's killer? Maybe I could learn something from you after all."

"It was the right decision to hire you, Adalet," Elizabeth agrees, meeting them in the hallway, "there's clearly something bigger going on behind this murder! You need to work out who made Enid kill Prince Albert!"

"I'm guessing that means we're not going on a sight-seeing tour any time soon!" he snorts.

"Jack Archer and Adalet Sadik-Halvorsen! The sun has set, you are now under arrest!" a royal guard announced.

"Oh jeez," Jack grumbles, "I forgot about Count Rupert arresting us!"

Rupert appeared beside the guard, smirking, "yes, one is looking forward to picking out your dungeon. A few months in there and you'll learn to respect royalty!"

"Not so fast, Rupert!" the Queen barked, marching over with a loud click of her heels, "these officers just solved our grandson's murder. They are free to go!"

"But Grandmama," Rupert nearly whined, "they were such horrid peasants, they-"

"Don't "Grandmama" us!" she interrupted, "we are the Queen of England! You are going back to the castle at once to learn a few lessons in manners and respect, Poo-pert!"

He flushed in embarrassment, "... Sorry Grandmama..."

"We are most grateful for your service, Agents," the Queen addressed the Bureau members, "if there is anything we can ever do for you, you have only to ask."

"I wouldn't say no to a knighthood if you're offering!" Jack smiles, Adalet facepalmed beside her partner.

"Jack Archer, we are STILL not amused," she responded.

The next morning, at the Bureau HQ...

"Excellent work finding Prince Albert's killer, Adalet. But I have a hunch this investigation has only just begun! Remember Enid told us that someone blackmailed her into killing the Prince, we need to find out if she's telling the truth!" Elizabeth says, crossing her arms, "I've got a feeling that Prince Albert's murder is related to the recent attacks across Europe."

"Sure thing, boss!" Jack salutes, "come on, Adalet, let's return to the crime scene. We need to-"

"Agent Adalet!" a royal guard yells. Cutting Jack off, "Her Majesty demands to speak to you!"

"You again?! Can't you guys just say "Hello"?" Jack complains as the guard swiftly leaves the room.

"Well, you have to admit they're efficient!" Adalet shrugs.

"So what to do first, Adalet? Chit-chat with the Queen or pound the London pavement?" he inquired.

"I think we've learned it's not good to keep a royal waiting," she replies, "let's go see what the Queen needs!"

With the decision made. Adalet and Jack headed over to the palace to figure out why The Queen needed their help.

"Agent Adalet, after your noble service uncovering our grandson's murderer, we feel we can trust you with another royal mission!" the Queen explains, "Count Rupert has gone missing! He's always been something of a scoundrel, but after Prince Albert's killing, the Royal Family cannot afford another scandal."

Jack blinked, "... You do know we're a police agency, right? Not some kind of VIP babysitting service! Besides, Rupert tried to have us arrested! Let him stay lost."

"My guards spent all night looking for him! We are afraid he may have been kidnapped... or worse!" she answers in distress.

"Jack, the last thing we want is another dead prince," Adalet whispered before turning to the Queen, "where was Rupert last seen?"

"In the castle's jewel house! That greedy rascal is forever trying on the crown jewels!" the Queen chuckles.

"Well, Adalet, you can find a needle in a haystack, so a prince in a jewel house should be a piece of scone!" Jack joked.

Seeing themselves back into the treasure room, Adalet set Hunter loose to sniff around for any traces of Rupert. After a few seconds, the dog began barking at a jewelry box someone had left open on top of a display case containing an antique crossbow.

"Nice jewelry box!" Jack remarks, "I bet you there's something interesting in there, let's go through it!"

"I bet this jewelry is worth more than some will ever make in their lifetime!" Adalet remarks as she looks through the box of golden accessories, "but this ticket has to be more valuable when it comes to finding Prince Rupert!"

"A theatre ticket? ... and Count Rupert's name is on it!" he points to the name printed along the bottom of the paper, "so while all those guards were hunting for him, Count Rupert was at the theatre?! Man, just when you think someone can't get more self-absorbed! Let's go let Rupert know that all the Queen's horses and all the Queen's men have been looking for him!"

Arriving at the Globe Theater in record time, they walked through the seats till they found Prince Rupert standing near the front row, seemingly looking around for something.

"Where the hell have you been, Count Rupert?! What are you doing hiding in a theatre?!" Jack demands furiously.

"Oh goodie, one's been discovered!" Rupert cried in annoyance, "one came here to escape that ghastly castle! Grandmama's being forcing one to practice royal waving..."

"Your worried grandmother's the one who sent us. She thought you'd been kidnapped!" Adalet glares.

"Poppycock! The only thing she worries about is her reputation!" he spat, "now, leave me alone. One is very busy with... jolly important things!"

"You seem nervous, Rupert. Is something wrong?" she asked.

"NOTHING is wrong!" he yells, sweat building on his brow, "one... er... just can't find my mobile phone. My bloody valet lost it! Here, take this money and go see a show and leave me alone!"

Taking their cue, Adalet and Jack left Rupert at the theatre and headed out to Westminster Lane to search for any clues about who blackmailed Enid into killing Prince Albert. Near the phonebooth where they had found the Prince's body, they discovered some torn parchment on the ground tucked behind the phonebooth.

"Nice work, but if you think this torn paper's relevant, you should put it back together before this London rain dissolves it!" Jack advised, feeling the moisture rising in the air.

Heeding the advice, Adalet tapes the pieces back together and restores the old and weathered-looking paper back to its original form.

"That paper you restored has Enid's name on it! This is exactly what we were looking for!" Jack cheered.

"But the rain's got to the rest of the text..." Adalet says, seeing the faded area below the killer's name, "give me two seconds and I'll retrieve it!"

True to her words, Adalet dusted the paper and shook off the excess powder in under five seconds, revealing the rest of the lost message.

"So the message reads: "Enid Grimshaw, we will kill you and your entire family"!" Adalet read out loud for her partner to hear.

"Adalet! You understand what this is?! It's the blackmail message which got Enid to kill Prince Albert!" Jack says confidently, "come on, let's see what Dupont can work out from this paper!"

Analyze Threatening Note...

"Sacre bleu, Adalet! I see you have a new crime to investigate! A crime against art! Against history! Against-"

"Get to the point, Dupont!" Jack groans, cutting off Dupont's rant.

"That page you found on the London street was torn from a thousand-year-old manuscript! And they defiled it further by writing on it!" he lectures, "the manuscript in question is an ancient text regarding a long lost cult. You see that symbol? That is their mark."

Adalet held her head in dismay, "not another cult..."

"Another- You know what, never mind it's probably better I don't ask," Jack corrects himself before looking back at the mark Dupont was showing them, "wait... that symbol looks familiar... Where have I seen that before?"

"Brother Klaus!" she exclaimed, "he has that symbol on his necklace! He's in a cult!"

"Why does that not surprise me?!" he shook his head, "do you think that means Klaus wrote this message?!"

"Let's go find out!"

Taking the message from a reluctant Dupont, Adalet and Jack sped back to the Globe Theater to ask Brother Klaus what he knew about the threatening note and possibly who sent it if not the man himself.

"So, Brother Klaus, you blackmailed Enid Grimshaw into killing the Prince! And don't play coy, the symbol on the note matches your necklace!" Adalet adds, glaring coldly at the monk.

"You come to accuse me again of murder! And this time because of my necklace?! How dare you! This is the symbol of my ancient order!" Brother Klaus hissed, clearly insulted.

"Oh really, so are you saying you've never seen this note before?" she asks, holding it up.

"That... that paper. This cannot be... That paper is from the Manuscript! But it hasn't been seen for centuries!" he gasps, reaching a hand out to grab it, "give it to me! Even with that message scrawled on it!"

"Not so fast, Klaus," she says, holding the paper out of his reach, "someone in your "ancient order," wrote this note, we're going to keep you in custody until you tell us who it was!"

Later, back at headquarters...

"So, it looks like Brother Klaus's organization was behind the Prince's murder! Let's keep him in custody for a while and see if it makes him talkative!" Jack decides, "as for Prince Charmless, he seemed pretty nervous about his lost mobile. Do you think he's hiding something?"

"I hate to insult my brother and his family, but sometimes you never know what goes on in palaces that big," Adalet mused.

"Hmmm if we find Count Rupert's phone, maybe we'll discover what he's up to," he suggests.

She snaps her fingers, "Jack you're a genius! We last saw him in the theatre, let's go back there and find out what he's up to!"

Making one last drive out to the Globe Theater, Adalet and Jack searched around the stage area for Rupert's phone which the Prince hopefully wasn't able to find on his own. Luck was on their side as they found a cellphone lying on one of the steps leading up to the stage.

"So you found Count Rupert's phone, nice work buddy! But look, it's locked... think it's treason to unlock it?" Jack wondered.

Adalet whistled for Loki to jump into her arms, "is there diplomatic immunity if an alien does it?"

"Haha, I won't tell if you won't!" he promised, "come on, let's unlock this phone!"

Adalet held the phone up to Loki and the small alien connected one of their stubby front feet to it. They chirped away as they hacked into the device, and with a beep, let go of the unlocked device.

"That is so cool!" Jack declared, "what else can he do?"

"They," Adalet corrected, "and Loki can hack into and take control of most technology, don't leave them alone near a car or else they'll go joyriding!"

"I'll make sure to keep my phone away from them," he chuckles, "and they got Count Rupert's mobile phone unlocked! Let's get it to Elliot and see what Rupert's hiding from us!"

Analyze Cell Phone...

"Well, well, so Archer's hacking into a royal phone! I wonder if that's high treason or just the regular kind..." Elliot muses, spinning around lazily in his chair.

"Be a sport, Elliot! We'll never have an opportunity to find out what Count Rupert's up to!" Jack argues.

"Hmm... it's gonna cost you. Here's the deal: I tell you what's on the phone if you clean my office every week for a month! Deal?" he responded.

He grumbled a few choice words that only Adalet could hear, "... Fine! You've got a deal."

He grins triumphantly, "you were right, Count Rupert IS up to something. His online banking account shows he got a wire transfer two days ago for over £1 million!"

"That's got suspicious written all over it! Where did the money come from?" Adalet inquired.

"That's the thing, it was sent from the European Central Bank. Why are they giving money to royalty?!" Elliot questions suspiciously.

"I don't know. But I bet I know a guy who does – Archibald Gilchrist. He works for the European Central Bank! Let's go have a chat with him!" Jack suggested.

"Come back soon, Archer. And bring a mop!" Elliot calls after them as they leave the tech lab.

Grabbing Rupert's phone, Adalet and Jack headed to the European Central Bank's London building and requested a meeting with Archibald to ask him about his relationship with Count Rupert. They were shown to a large boardroom where the CEO was setting up for a meeting, and paused in his work as their arrival was announced.

"Ah, Agent Adalet, a pleasure to see you, care for afternoon tea?" Archibald offers, gesturing to the tea set set-up on the drink bar behind him.

"Ugh!" Jack wrinkled his nose, "only a few days in England and I'm already sick of tea!"

"Well, why not have a burger instead?" he suggests, "my bank's private chef just made some and I know you Americans love them."

"Private chef?" Adalet raised an eyebrow, "we thought your bank was short on money? Yet you paid Count Rupert around £1 million too!"

"Bugger! You found that out? It was meant to be a secret!" Archibald curses, "you see, with Prince Albert dead, the bank needs new royal support, otherwise, we're done for! So we paid Count Rupert to say... nice things about us in public. That's all... honest!"

"How many "nice things" can £1 million get?!" Jack growls, "come on, Adalet, let's get out of here. And I'm taking the burger!"

Later in the SUV...

Jack licked his fingers after eating the last of his burger, "I want to be angry, but that chef makes a mean burger!"

"Can't argue with that," Adalet agrees, giving Hunter some of the meat to eat.

"Do you really think that Gilchrist paid Count Rupert all the money just to say "nice things" about the European Central Bank? It sounds crazy!" he rants.

"Maybe we can get the truth out of Rupert," she pondered in thought, "we need to take his cellphone back to him anyway."

"Alright," he said, starting the engine, "let's see what he has to say!"

While Jack drove, Adalet took a look at the places they'd talked to Rupert at to see where he was. After checking the palace, its garden, and the Bureau HQ, she found him back at the Globe Theater searching the seats for his phone. Directing her partner back to the theatre, they arrived before Rupert could leave.

"We thought you might want your phone back, Count Rupert," Adalet says, holing out the device.

"You found it! How glorious, maybe one was wrong about-" Rupert's face morphed into one of rage when he saw his phone's screen, "you unlocked it! One ought to have you horsewhipped!"

"I wouldn't do that. Because then we'd just have to tell your "Grandmama" about the big fat bribe you took from Archibald Gilchrist!" she informed him.

"No! Don't do that! Please! I'll tell you everything!" he quickly says, "Gilchrist... Gilchrist gave me the money and all one has to do is use one's royal reputation to support a "yes vote" in some referendum."

Jack cocks his head in confusion, "what referendum?!"

"No idea. One doesn't care for politics. But one cares deeply for cold hard cash!" Rupert admits, sweating nervously, "one's told you everything, now please don't tell Grandmama what I've done! I'll even make you honorary nobles to keep my secret!"

"We can't promise anything, Rupert! But, you need to start behaving like a proper Prince! No more dungeons and bribes! Promise?" Adalet inquired.

He blushed at the assertive tone, "... One promises..."

Later, at The Bureau's European HQ...

"Adalet, there you are!" Elizabeth said while entering the boardroom, "I've been looking for you all over the place. I've bad news – we've had to release Brother Klaus."

"What?! But his "ancient order" is responsible for the Prince's murder!" Jack cried in outrage.

She crosses her arms, "our evidence against him isn't strong enough, besides, someone paid for a very expensive lawyer to represent him."

"Where does a mad monk get the money for a big lawyer?" he questioned, Adalet shrugs, "something stinks with that guy and it's not just his filthy robes!"

"We've got bigger things to worry about. We're no nearer to working out who is behind the recent chaos and with the referendum in only a few weeks-"

"Referendum?! That's what Count Rupert was talking about!" Adalet called, "what's the vote for?"

"With all the violence and bloodshed in Europe, the European Parliament has arranged a referendum on uniting Europe under one government. No more Britain, Germany, or France, just "The United States of Europe"!" Elizabeth explains, clearly not in favour of the idea.

"Oh yeah, Quebec and Canada have done that before, but for the opposite reason," Adalet mused, "there was a vote just a few years before I moved to Canada!"

"United States of Europe? Sounds like a big deal! But why is Archibald Gilchrist supporting it?!" Jack questions.

"I've got a bad feeling about Gilchrist, too," Elizabeth agrees, "we'll have others keep an eye on him while we're away!"

"Away? Where are we going?" Adalet asked.

"We're going to France! Dupont just heard on his "historian grapevine" that the manuscript has been found at an auction in Paris!" she reports happily.

"What?! We're going to Paris?!" Jack exclaims in excitement, "beautiful boulevards, amazing food and stunning women?"

Adalet rolls her eyes, "nice to see you have your priorities straight..."

"Pack your bags, agents," Elizabeth ordered, "the team is leaving before sunset!"

Notes:

Save the World really started off with a bang, didn't it? (And I don't just mean Lars's introduction!) I'm so excited to write this season and I have a lot planned for future chapters but for now, the team is off to France! Au revoir!
