They sat, bloody and leaning against the remains of one of the wafflebots in the middle of the fiery destruction from the battle. The other cookies had already gone into the castle so they had no use anymore. They failed and now it was their time to die. All that was left for them was the thoughts they could have before the end.

Strawberry Crepe had been defeated by Custard and the other cookies in the battle to enter the Vanilla Kingdom. They take their dying moments to just sit and think over recent times with Custard and about their own life. They don't realize that perhaps they aren't actually all that alone.

I’m never forgiving the ao3 curse of finding a fic that’s one of the best pieces of literature I’ve ever had the delight to read AND it somehow puts both my favourite characters together in such a wonderful way but the author actually has a life and doesn’t post that often
