Work Text:
In a nice corner of the banqueting hall of the hysperian royal castle, Andy Billups is absentmindedly scratching the belly of a fluffy pet dragon.
He is at yet another royal feast he had to attend, and he is bored and annoyed. There are too many people, they are being too noisy, and his outfit today looks ridiculous.
“Why can’t I just be a normal person allowed to live in peace?” he thinks internally rolling his eyes.
He is busy setting up a plan how to sneak out of the room unnoticed to go work on his newest spaceship model, when a young woman with a lute starts singing and dancing way too close to him. She is not wearing enough clothes for him to be comfortable and keeps throwing suggestive looks in his direction.
Clearly, this is one of his mother’s attempts to rob him of his virginity. But he is not going to fall for it.
“Is this supposed to impress me?” he snaps at the lady and thankfully, it makes her leave. His mother might complain about this later, but he couldn’t care less at the moment. He just closes his eyes and thinks of warp engines.
