Charlie's computer scans again for the codex, frustration growing. No match. She sighs in her seat. "Damn it," she groans.
Rowena's lips perk up from where she's sitting, chains and all, observing the tangle of bones in the hex bag she's making. "That miraculous machine of yours hasn't solved everything by now?" She coughs into her hand. "Overrated, I'd say."
Charlie's answer is just as quick. "I'm using the computer to find some pattern in the book's coding or any synchronicity with the symbols in Nadia's codex." God, this was torture. The stupid Codex for the stupid Book of the Damned for Dean's stupid curse. She loved the Winchesters, she really did, but sometimes they were so stupid. Dean, especially.
Rowena tsks, turning away from her petty project. "I'm more old school," she begins, rising out of her seat. "I read the signs nature shows me. The forces that ruled before there was magic."
"Wow, why didn't I think of that?" sasses Charlie. And before Rowena could start monologuing her 300 years worth of evil deeds , Cas comes in bearing gifts.
"It sounds like blood sugar is dipping in here," says Cas, in that neat timbre of his. Charlie wondered if that voice put a strain on his throat. "I got snacks." And Charlie gives him a pained smile. Rowena is giving her a frackin' headache.
"When I was human," he continues. "I grew very fond of these pork rinds."
Rowena frowns with disgust, turning away from anything being offered, even if her handsome Castiel was the one doing the offering.
Charlie ignores Cas, lifting out of her seat to prod for information from Rowena. "What do you know about the chick who wrote the Book of the Damned?"
Seeming pleased to divulge some delicious tea about her fellow witches, Rowena complies. "Agnes was a hermit nun and as mad as a hatter," she giggles, gracefully seating herself on the seat handle of her... prison-like chair. "Made it her business to undo curses."
"Like the one that caused the Mark of Cain," Castiel supplies.
"As in any struggle between good and evil, balance is required." Pleased with being able to speak and lecture, Rowena uses her flair for the dramatics. "To cure one curse, Agnes had to know how to inflict another. They lived side by side in the magic world. One cannot be without the other."
Unfazed by the lilt of Rowena's (unnecessarily attractive) accent, Charlie goes straight into theory mode. "Sure, sure. Like a, uh, a binary system." And then it clicks. "So I gotta think like a hermit nun."
Rowena bites her lip, dipping her head. And it's only for a second but Rowena seems to flick her eyes up to look into Charlie's. "Did I mention they burned her alive?"
Charlie blinks. "They?"
"A cornucopia of curses and satanic visions did not go unnoticed by the church hierarchy," Rowena clips. "These men would not abide a rogue nun."
Feeling slightly ashamed (only slightly!) for blaming Rowena for the bad shit she's done, Charlie holds her tongue on a retort. "Poor Agnes," she supplies instead. "Ahead of her time."
A glint of a smile teases Rowena's lips. And why is Charlie looking at her lips again? "Much like you and I," she drawls.
Charlie blinks again, flustered. What the hell is she talking about?
She exchanges a look between Cas and he's just as confused. He shifts on his feet, obviously not wanting to be here any longer.
"Well, I-" he says and sets the bag of snacks on Rowena's table before high-tailing it out of the room. Charlie can't blame him. There are some words that she would like to say that Cas might not enjoy.
Charlie stumbles through her next sentence. "I actually don't see our similarities." Involuntarily, Charlie flicks a finger through a strand of hair. "All that much."
Rowena is quick to respond, stepping closer to Charlie. "Because you're young and good and I'm ancient and evil. Is that it?"
And Charlie shakes her head, confused. The threatening tone isn't helping Rowena's attractive voice.
"Let me tell you about you." And Charlie's eyes widen slightly. "A difficult and lonely childhood." Each word is like a punch to the gut. "Tragedy. Absent parents. Always outside the mainstream." Her heartbeat quickens. "Sexually progressive." Um . "Living in your own head for solace and direction." Rowena's chains jingle when she gestures between them both. Oh .
Charlie licks her lips, snapping herself to the present. "Yeah, but still, we are pretty different."
Rowena steps closer, and Charlie's heart skips a beat. "I read you the minute I saw you," says the witch.
Witch , Charlie reminds herself. She's a witch. You hunt them .
But Rowena continues. "And I'm sure you're learning that the line between good and evil is quite flexible."
Charlie, why are you looking at her lips? Stop it!
"But we part company when it comes to blind devotion. Case in point, the Winchesters ." And Rowena rolls her eyes at the mere mention of them. "You've made them the family you don't have. Foolish."
Ignoring the tension, Charlie snaps. "Sam and Dean are like my brothers." But she edges closer to Rowena, their eyes locked onto each other. "I love them."
"I know," whispers Rowena. "And that steadfast loyalty will be your undoing, my girl."
Fuck . Charlie can't take it anymore. She huffs and tugs Rowena close, seizing her lips with her own, pushing harshly as Rowena pulls her in.
Charlie pulls back just as fast, but Rowena has a grip on her arms. "I must say that was unexpected," she grins, her lipstick slightly faded. "What brought this on?"
"Shut up," Charlie breathes and kisses her again, Rowena complying. Soon, their tongues intermingle and God, Charlie feels like a traitor but it's so good and then Rowena's leading them backwards to her side of the room.
Charlie instantly complies, grabbing Rowena's hips and lifting her onto the table, her legs hanging off the side, her dress rumpled above her knees. Swooping in for another kiss, she feels the cold metal of the chains against her exposed sides as Rowena racks her shirt up. Long nails lightly scratch the lower expanse of her back, and Charlie gasps into Rowena's mouth, grinding her hips forward between the witch's legs.
Now that that’s established, Charlie forgoes her previous shame and slides her hands over Rowena’s lily-white legs and underneath her dress, raking it up even further up her thighs. Rowena moans into her mouth and grabs her butt, pulling her closer.
“Shit,” gasps Charlie and Rowena takes the opportunity to drag her lips across Charlie’s outstretched neck.
Getting back in the moment, Charlie leans out of Rowena’s lips and begins her own descent on Rowena’s neck, digging her nails in her thighs. Licking a long stripe from her collarbone to her jaw, Charlie smirks inwardly at Rowena’s surprised gasp.
She pulls back then, flipping over the rest of Rowena’s dress over her lap, and she kneels down so that she’s level with Rowena’s panty-covered pussy. She takes a deep breath in, convincing herself that she’s really going to do this. They’d been dancing around each other for hours now and with Rowena’s obvious flirting, Charlie found her hard to resist.
With tentative hands, Charlie grabs the edges of Rowena's panties, and begins to pull them down, Rowena lifting her hips to help. Rowena sighs above her, like she's been expecting this. But she doesn't say anything, which is infuriating to Charlie. Deciding to take initiative, Charlie spreads Rowena's legs apart further, and with force, gets another gasp out of the witch.
Finally taking the plunge, Charlie swipes her tongue along Rowena's folds, using her fingers to spread her labia apart. Then her tongue goes flat and she laps up Rowena's juices, hearing her sigh once more and tangling her fingers in Charlie's hair.
Charlie sucks on her clit, eliciting moans from above. Hm, if this is how to get Rowena to shut up, well then, she might use that to her advantage. Encouraged by this new discovery, Charlie sucks harder, then gets her finger to tease Rowena's entrance.
Rowena’s thighs begin to shake and Charlie sucks harder, sinking her finger in her hole, crooking her finger to hit that spot. And once she does, Rowena barks out a moan. Perfect .
“That’s it, my girl,” Rowena groans, bucking her hips into Charlie’s face. And Charlie chases the movement, sucking harder and speeding her finger. Soon, Rowena’s legs clench around her ears, and the witch’s moans get higher and higher in pitch. One more hard suck against her clit and Rowena squeals, clenching around Charlie’s finger and coming hard.
Charlie helps her ride through her orgasm and she pulls back, chin wet and hair mussed. Rowena lets out long sighs leaning back on her hands, a smug grin on her lips.
“Well,” she says. “That’s one way to pass the time.”
Charlier rolls her eyes, but there’s no heat to it. Suddenly, the computer behind her starts pinging. Pushing herself up and running to it, she sees a bright green SUCCESS message on her screen. The computer found a pattern in Nadia’s codex. “Fuck yes!” she cheers.
“Oh?” comes Rowena’s reply. “That magic machine of yours finally did something right?”
Charlie beams. “It means that we can get straight to work on the Book of the Damned. We need to call Cas.”
Gracefully, Rowena gets off the table. “I’m sure Tweety Pie can wait. We’ve got lots more time to kill, don’t we?”
