Chapter Text
As Isaac knew, Drew was kind. A little too kind.
And it touched him in a way he never would have thought.
Drew was giving, he could remember the countless times the sunny boy would spend his much needed time alone with others, just because they ask him. He's almost never alone at this point, someone's always around him. Whether it be his brother Nevin, some random people Isaac never bothered to know, or Isaac himself. Drew was also generous, he'd help anyone who needed it, no matter how much trouble it gave either of them. Isaac often found himself asking Drew for help on homework, even if he never really gave to shits about it.
Why? Even Isaac didn't know the answer himself, but he never gave it much thought. Drew was just so kind, and the artist would be lying if he said he never gave it much of a thought to try and draw him. He always caught himself drawing the twin in one of his sketch books, of Drew smiling, laughing, sitting in a patch of grass. But it was all just head empty drawings, so again Isaac didn't think much of it.
At least, for a while that is.
It started ever since last week. Drew kept giving such...such undivided attention to Isaac, even if he didn't need it. He'd find all the time he could get, just to spend it all on Isaac. Like a multi-billionaire and his money, giving it away like it was the cheapest thing ever. And then, there'd be the way Drew would always be especially nice to Isaac, or more eccentric and expressive, who cares he was being nice as fuck.
So it was then that Isaac had begun to question, what was Drew in his own eyes? Well, Drew was Drew. The kind, yet sort of feisty sophomore in a tiny freshmen body. He was fun to be around truthfully, and no matter how neutral he tried to keep his face, the other seemed to always push his buttons enough to crack a grin from him. Drew was also full of so many odd theories, how he'd go into depth of random ones he'd sudden think of on the spot, and Isaac couldn't help but give his own attention to Drew.
Drew was Drew. And Drew was the definition of kindness in Isaac's eyes.
But God damnit, this boy was getting to him in ways he never expected. Isaac doesn't know if he loves or hates it.
"Hey Isaac?" Said boy immediately looked up when that unmistakable voice rang in his ears. It was Drew, at the doorway of the art room with the door ajar just enough to poke his head through. "Oh, Drew. What'cha doin' here?" Isaac questioned as he looked back at his absentminded doodles, only to deadpan at the page that was full of doodles of the boy in question. "I was looking for ya!" Drew said as Isaac flipped the page to a blank one, turning around to see that God blessing grin of his. It made Isaac feel warm, in the deepest crevices of his heart.
"Looking for me?" The artist rose a brow as Drew nodded, slipping inside and closing the door, leaning against it. "Mhm! Remember when you told me about your art block, and how you've just been doodling a lot lately?" Isaac nodded at that, pencil eraser tapping against his book. "Yup, what about it?"
"Is it alright if you draw me?"
Isaac could feel his heartbeat accelerate. He wanted Isaac to draw him? Convenient how he had already been making doodles of the other, so much that he could draw him by heart and reflex. "I mean, sure. I don't mind." Isaac agreed after a moment, Drew's smile growing wider (fuck, that smile is just so..) as he walk over, the way his eyes practically shone with that kind gaze had Isaac loosing his breathe ever so slowly. and it was an agonizingly amazing feeling to experience.
"Sooo? Is there any way you want to draw me?" Oh shit, Drew was letting him decide? Oh fuck, oh shit the amount of power he had in that moment to make him do the most ridiculous things is immaculate. But no, Isaac would rather not. He wanted it to be something simple and nice, comfortable for the other.
There's a chair over there. Can you like- get it?" Drew nodded enthusiastically, quickly complying as he grabbed the empty chair and dragged it over, the noise only temporary as Drew sat down in it across from Isaac, the desk forcing them to keep distance. "Okay, uhm.." Isaac hummed as he tapped his chin with the pencil, head tilted a bit as he tried to imagine a fitting posture for the other.
"Put your arms on the desk, maybe clasp them together?" He said a little uncertainly. "Like a prayer??" Drew jokingly said as he put his hands together in a prayer motion, doing a little jig in his seat that had Isaac failing to force away a smile. "Damn it Drew." The other merely chuckled, righting his position and intertwining his fingers. "Sorry sorry, just messing around." Drew apologized half-heartedly, Isaac giving a good-natured eyeroll.
"Nah, don't apologize." Isaac mumbled as he narrowed his eyes, reaching over and taking hold of Drew's hands. He didn't like the position, so he shifted Drew's hands differently. One hand holding Drew's head with his palm, and the other laid on the desk. "You coulda told me." "Didn't feel like it." Drew's shoulders shook as he gave another (Heavenly) chuckle. "Alrighty then." He complied once more.
Isaac leaned back into his seat. He felt like something was missing, but what? It took a moment before the idea clicked in his head, and Isaac was flipping through pages. "You know how I told you I could bring my drawings to life?" He said, Drew nodding at the question. Isaac landed on a page that oh so conveniently had two vases of flowers, just big enough to create and fill the void of what he felt was missing.
So, he waved a hand over it with practiced expertise, the drawing seeping out of the page as Drew marveled at the process. The moment Isaac snapped his fingers, they were filled with colours, shapes now three dimensional as they both dropped onto either side of the desk. "Well shit. That's amazing!" Drew gave a closed eye smile.
Isaac could feel his cheeks flush with warmth, his throat going dry as he swallowed thickly. God, what was Drew doing to him? "It's nothin' really." Isaac mumbled as he diverted his gaze, he was just barely able to get out those words from how dry his throat felt.
After correctly positioning the flowers on either side of Drew, Isaac finally got to drawing. His eyes gazing back and forth between Drew and the book as he sketched out the imagery in front of him. This gave Isaac a moment to think, letting his hands go on autopilot.
As he drew every curve of Drew's face, he could imagine seeing it everyday. That soft smile on a borderline smirk he didn't notice was there? It made his heart pound in his chest, like the pounding of tribal drums. The way his eyes were half-lidded as he gazed at Isaac in a way he couldn't describe? Fucking beautiful, he had to make that the focal point.
...Wait what?
"Hey Isaac?" Drew spoke, his voice had softened a few notches, and it had Isaac's breathe stuttering ever so slightly. "..Yeah?" He was unsure of what Drew was thinking, but the way he looked at him had his hands trembling. So much in fact, that he had to pull away from the drawing just so he wouldn't mess it up with uneven lines. "Can I tell you something?" Isaac found himself hesitating to look Drew in the eyes, his expression so gentle it was so close to overwhelming. "Yeah, sure." He muttered out, forcing his hands to steady as he continued to draw the other.
"Your really nice to be around," Drew began, watching Isaac's hands do their thing and draw. "I like talking to you. It's so nice to have someone who doesn't get mad at my rants about random and stupid theories." Isaac nodded, but mumbled that his theories weren't stupid. "Some of them, sure. But most times I feel like they were just not good enough. That there wasn't that special something to them, that made me like those theories."
He then huffed. "But aside from those, I just really like being around you in general, ya'know?" Isaac could feel the heat in his cheeks get hotter, he could barely look up at him when he needed to renew that image in his mind. Every time, he could see that soft smile, so genuine and full of kindness.
Drew was kind. So, so kind. Too kind for him.
"I think your really nice," He's too kind. "And I love how nonchalant you can be, it's cute." He's just being thoughtful. "I also like your freckles, they're adorable." Does he really mean that? "Your so creative with your art, and I love seeing it every time you let me." Isaac was so close to being done with the sketch, but all this praise from Drew was so much. Just so, so much. His heart felt like it was pounding out of his chest. What was this supposed to be? What was he getting at?
"Even now, you look stunning. Every day, every hour, every minute, every second. Beautiful, divine." Isaac could barely stop the shiver that ran up his spine. The praise was too much, how could Drew find so many positive things, in a boy full of negative attributes? "D-Drew, Jesus." He cussed himself internally for his voice, how it stuttered and how soft it had gotten. It completely betrayed him.
"Isaac. Your everything anyone could ask for." "But that's you.." He mumbled. "Your personality is just so perfect." "But...that's also you.." Even hotter his face felt, like lava being poured on his face. "I wonder how your still single sometimes." He couldn't even say anything to that. "Maybe, if you don't mind..."
Isaac's breathe hitched when he felt Drew press a finger to the bottom of his chin, pushing it up to look at him. Isaac didn't even realize when Drew had leaned over the desk entirely, one leg propped up to hold him along with his other hand as he leaned in close to the artist. Isaac could hear the pencil drop from his hand, rolling off the desk and to the ground, yet the noise was so faint he almost missed it in favor of his own heart drumming in his ears.
"I could be the one, to steal your heart?" Isaac could only choke out the first syllable of Drew's name, his voice dying out as Drew leaned closer. It was almost of instinct that Isaac let his eyes slip shut, instinct that made him lean closer and closer to Drew.
And god when their lips met, Isaac felt like his world was complete.
Those kind lips that spilled so many praises before, felt so soft and gentle against his own slightly chapped lips. Drew's head tilted as Isaac's sketch was long forgotten in the depths of his mind, hands gently pressing against the other's face as they kissed slowly. It caught Isaac off guard, how good Drew was. It made him wonder just what gave him that experience. But he never could ponder on it for long, the way Drew's hands pressed against his cheeks, rubbing at the freckles he had immediately making his brain turn to a pudding of overwhelmed affection.
The air finally decided to be violent, forcing them to pry away for it as they both panted ever so lightly. "Your everything anyone could ever ask for." Drew whispered as Isaac's eyes fluttered open half way, just to meet his brownish-yellow eyes that sparked with so much love and kindness. "Your everything I could ever ask for." He finished. "Can I kiss you again?"
"What..what about my.." Isaac mumbled, but Drew cut him off gently. "Forget the sketch for now, all I want to care about is you." Isaac couldn't will himself to focus on surroundings, he couldn't focus on the flowers he'd created, and how they melted away into ink that spilled onto the ground. He couldn't focus on his book, that had since been slid out of the way as Drew took him by the collar of his shirt, pulling him forward and onto the desk. Their lips met once more as Isaac's hands moved down to grip Drew's shoulder.
Fuck, Drew was really messing him up. The way he could feel the other hold him so carefully, the smile that quirked up as Isaac shivered at the perfect feeling. He knew not to take things too far, they were still minors and he had no interest in doing anything unsanitary, just as he knew Drew felt the same. But damnit, Isaac had fireworks going off in his mind, he was in utter euphoria and he just couldn't get enough.
Drew, as Isaac knew, was just so kind. He was just too kind to Isaac.
And it made him fall in love. He fell in love, and Drew was there to catch him in the end.
