Okay, so. I don't normally like "modern" AUs. They tend to become flanderized pretty quickly on, or arbitrarily assign characteristics to characters that make them feel extremely OOC. But this fic, though... This fic stole my heart, and for good reason. The writing is pretty solid (barring some niggles with formatting and what seems to be draft sections left in here and there) and most of the characters feel, if not necessarily show-accurate, then close enough that it makes sense with the updated setting. I love the expansion of Ned and Tom's backstories, the subjects both of which are treated with respect and empathy. I really wish it was complete, but as is often the case with some of the best fic out there, it doesn't matter that it's unfinished because it's good enough to keep you coming back time and time again just to recapture those key moments that leave you with an idiotic smile on your face or fighting down a rush of arousal. It ends in a pretty good place all things considered though, and leaves a lot of room for more setting-specific headcanons. A++
