Chapter Text

015

School showers were always something that horrified the raven haired girl. The fear of being walked in on or forgetting her towel were glued to the back of her mind, leaving her body in a small whirl of anxiety. Yet, she hated to leave the gym sweaty and smelly, so she always used them anyways. And it almost seemed like everything was like like usual until Skylar noticed that her towel and her fresh clothes were missing even tho the girl was to one hundred and twenty percent sure she took both with her. Panic rose in her gut, making her throat close painfully. She peeked around the shower curtain to check of anyone was there before quietly slipping out of the safety of the shower to hurry down the hallway of the bathroom to glance out of the little shower door window into the lockers.

"Missing something?" A high pitch scream left her, jumping in her skin and turning around while shielding every relevant part as best as possible. Wet pink hair was hanging down Marie's shoulder as she watched the shorter girl with a devilish glint in her eyes.

"Wh- Uh, yeah." Skylar wanted to curse herself for stuttering but it felt like her breath got stuck in her throat as the punk-ish girl came closer, almost popping the raven haired's personal bubble.

"I'm gonna be honest with you, goodie-two-shoes. I didn't like you." Right back to you. "But you made me really hate you when you crushed that ball into my shoulder with that stupid smirk of yours. White Wolf of the court, huh? Pathetic, that's what you are. Just look at you, you dumb bitch."

"Excuse me?"  Wide eyes stared into glinting green ones as the pink haired backed off before reaching for the door handle.

"You heard me. Now step aside. And good luck finding you clothes. Hopefully you have enough wits for that." With these words she disappeared. But not before Skylar heard the guttering sound of a lock begin twisted. Her hands shook as she gripped the door handle, tugging on it in the weak attempt to show herself that she misheard. That the door wasn't locked and trapped her naked in the school showers. Failing miserably at it. So she actually did the only thing that she could think of now. She screamed.

"Help! Someone! Please!" Her hand banged on the wooden door, eyes looking into the locker room in hope that someone heard her but after five minutes she gave up, her back hitting the door to slide down on it and tug her legs to her chest. She felt like crying, frustration settling in her chest and anger rising in her throat to make her scream out loudly once to let off some steam.

"Hello?" Her heart skipped a beat at the muffled voice on the other side of the door that she jumped up instantly to peek out of the window. Doe eyes starred at her in confusion and shock, red hair wet from a shower too.

"Oh my god, Jeongguk! Thank god! Please unlock the door!" He's like a hero, Brooke's voice swirled around in her head. Yeah, maybe he is.

"Skylar, what the hell?" The boy did as told, pushing the door open in a crack before Skylar threw her whole body weight against it in panic. "What the fu-"

"I'm naked!" If she wasn't completely panicking right now about the fact that Jeongguk had almost been the first boy to see her in this state, she would be laughing at how his eyes were just as wide in shock as her's. In her messy mind she had sworn to have seen a faint blush to creep up his cheeks before he turned around to put down what seemed like his bag. After a few second of rummaging through it he returned to her to push his hand through the little crack that the door gave. Skylar wanted to laugh at the black shirt and shorts that were hanging from his finger but she didn't, only took them silently with reddening cheeks.

"Uhm.. I don't.. I don't have underwear so.." She hated how much her face was burning.

"It's fine, you can wash them."

"No, what I mean is, uhm.. The reason why I was locked in here was because a girl locked me in. She was mad at me and hid my clothes so, uh.. My underwear has to be somewhere in there. Could you - oh my god, I can't believe I'm saying this - can you look for it real quick?"

"What kind of childish reaction is th- You know what, forget it. Yeah, I'll check." She thanked him shyly, leaning against the wall next to the door while waiting for him to return. This is absurd. So freaking absurd. Slowly I'm starting to believe that this is some weird romance movie or book or whatever.

"Here." Another time the hand sneaked through the crack with Skylar's black panties and bra. The girl snatched it from it quickly to prevent even further embarrassment and changed into the clothes that were handed to her just as fast. With a stressed huff she left the showers now, waddling over the cold locker room floor to her locker.

"Thank you, like, really, thanks. You saved my butt here."

"Wouldn't be the first time, huh?" Jeongguk threw her a small smile, his eyes way lighter now than before. "Who even thought it would be funny to lock you inside the girl's shower?"

"Ah, there was this one girl from P.E. class that was mad about something. Don't mind it, I'll just avoid her from now on." The boy wanted to tell her that she shouldn't have to. That she should fight back for once but then again he found him asking himself who he was to tell the raven haired something like that. Skylar had made a decision, a decision that Jeongguk, if he was completely open minded and honest for once, hated strongly. And that was the decision of staying low, of not causing drama.

"Alright." Skylar sensed the change in his mood instantly, it was like she had a eye and ear for that by now. "You want me to drive you home?"

"Nah, I'll be fine with walking. It'd be-" By the unamused look on the red haired face he didn't like her answer at all. "It'd be awesome if you could drive me tho..?"

"Better. Let's go." A airy chuckle left the female, collecting her stuff to follow him out of the gym and wait by the side street for him to pull up with his black Pick-Up. She settled down on the passenger seat with a huff and a thrown back head.

"I hate this college." Jeongguk actually laughed at that, a small smile staying on his face afterwards. "Why are people such pain in the butts?"

"Because alot of people are unsatisfied with their lifes so they have to make other's lifes just as bad. It's sad, but it's true." She agreed with him before turning up the radio a bit.

"You can just.. uhm, let me out here." Skylar pointed at the sidewalk a few meter from her home but Jeongguk seemed to have other thoughts as he drove her right infront of her house. "Or not. You are definitely deaf or something."

"If I could hear you, I'd be offended." She looked over to him, his eyes catching hers quickly before swaying to something next to her head. With furrowed brows she turned around only to flinch all the way over to Jeongguk's shoulder.

"Holy- Dad! You almost killed me!" Her father had the guts to chuckle at her before backing away from Jeongguk's car and working on his own. "Well, near death experience two, check."

"You're cool with him seeing us?" Skylar nodded at him before giving him a soft smile.

"I mean, he's my dad. If my mum'd see us, I'd be dead for sure. So! No more driving me to my house. If you will not submit to my order-" A laugh made her stop for a second to chuckle herself. "-then you will not drive me at all! Even if I am very grateful that you do."

"Alright, little princess. Gotcha."

"Excuse you!" She watched offended as he left the car without waiting for her to finish speaking to go around it and open her door. "I am no princess!"

"Are you sure about that?" Her dad threw in from his place over at his car which earned him a dark glare from his daughter.

"On which side are you exactly, father?" She liked the fact that her bickering with her dad made the boy next to her lean relaxed against his car while smiling softly.

"Oh, my child, I am on the side that wins, as usual."

"I feel betrayed." Both men laughed at her sour tone. "I hate you both."

"No, you don't." Jeongguk had the guts to ruffle her hair fondly and if she was honest, if this would have been any other guy, any other person, they would have gotten a mouthful but with Jeongguk it was more relaxed. Maybe because right after he created a bird's nest on her head, he began to sort it out again, flatting her hair and move loose strands out of her face.

"You want to stay for dinner, son?" By the looks of it, Skylar was just as shocked as the red haired male by her father's offer.

"Dad, I don't thi-"

"That's very kind of you, sir, but I already have plans." Her dad send him a smile and a shrug. "But I'd like to come back to the offer some other time, if that's possible?"

"Jeongguk-"

"Of course. Just let Skylar know whenever and I'll set something up." They really created a pact or something against her.

"Alright, I'll do that. Well, I'll go now." The male looked down at her with a mischievous grin and a mean glint in his eyes that let her swallow thickly. "I'll see you?"

"Oh, uhm, yeah. Sure. I guess?" The boy pulled her into a short hug that she only registered half-heartly before he slid back into his car and drove off with a wave.

"You like him?" Skylar threw her glance over her shoulder to narrow her eyes at her father. The elder raised both brows at her piercing stare before he broke out in a teasing grin. "If looks could kill.."

"He's a friend, dad. A very good one to that."

"Your mother and I were friends too." Skylar's eyebrows rose this time. "Okay, maybe that's a lie."

"Trust me, I know you both had an arranged marriage, it's no secret." Her father scratched his arm while fidgeting a bit.

"It's not like I didn't like her or anything. We just never met before that much and marrying a person you have never met before in a span of 3 months is not enough time to make friends and such."

"Jeongguk and I became friends in less than a week, you are a big, fat liar." Skylar chuckled at her dad's offended gaze.

"You are dense sometimes."

"Wait, what?"

"Come inside, I'm gonna make dinner." Her father shrugged her off just like that and turned his back to do exactly what he just said.

"Tell me what you mean with that!"

"Never!"
