Nick flinched like Matt had hit him. He saw the fire burning in Matt’s eyes. There was more than just anger in them… something more dangerous. Hurt and misdirected, aimed like a weapon at the one person Matt knew would never fight back.
Chris’s eyes shifted back and forth between the two. “Matt seriously, fucking stop—”
Matt’s voice was bitter and so cold. Not at all in the usual tone he reserved for his two brothers, “You like being miserable. You wear it like a fucking badge. You like how people walk on eggshells around you.”
“You want to hurt?” Matt snapped. “Why don’t you go cut yourself again. Since that’s your favorite solution.”
