Summary
Since the very first day of Jurassic Park, it has let its herbivores do as they will. It does not police them, it does not bother to, and it for all intents and purposes perpetuates the same thing it always has; a complacency with what is, to the human mind, less 'cool' and less 'dangerous' than its show-stoppers.
This does not remove from them all danger. This does not stop them from existing as they are, as they were, and as they have always been.

Summary
Mitsuru Tenji’s life used to be measured in millimeters and diopters. As an optician, he lived by a simple code: everyone deserves "Ten-ni"—the perfect 2.0 vision. He never expected to be practicing his trade in the middle of a pre-industrial wasteland where the "Eye of Insight" is a bloodline trait and "vision" is usually something people die for.
Dropped into a remote, neutral trade town far from the active skirmishes of the Uchiha and Senju clans, Mitsuru doesn't try to be a hero. He just tries to be useful. He builds a life in the shadows of the conflict, grinding lenses from quartz and teaching the local blacksmiths about the geometry of light. He is in an orphanage and, he looks down at his hands with a familiar hollow ache in his chest, and he is a child.
He is dead, and he is in an orphanage, and he is a child.
Kabuto laughs and laughs and laughs.

Or, a deeply unstable Root graduate with no concept of selfhood and only the most tenuous grasp of what sanity might be supposed to look like in sterile lab conditions makes friends, does his best to figure out how independence is supposed to work, terrifies a lot of responsible adults (and less responsible "peers") who really just want to help, and fends off “I can fix him” attempts on all sides (reciprocating with an “I can make him worse” aoe aura). Depressing introspection and unfortunate perspective gaps are only to be expected. This is the best Kabuto's mental health has been ... ever, and the eighth panic attack Hizashi has had this week.
