    Cole is taken in by the finders, nursed back to health, and given a real stable home for the first time in forever. He knows it's only temporary and he needs to stay focused on leaving and getting back to his real family, the ninja, but there's something about these new strangers, Geo in particular, that keeps him wanting to stay longer.

    This is going to be a semi canon compliant fic about Cole being rescued by the finders and all the events that take place afterwards. It is a Geode shipping fic with a side of found family and a tiny mention of past Cole/Kai.

    Geo turns over in his sleep and the ninja considers. Surely he could slip into those blankets? Sidle up next to Geo and steal some of that warmth for a few hours? He usually wakes before Geo does,- ninja training left some habits- he could just drop back onto his own mattress before Geo even noticed.

    He realizes his mistake the moment his knee touches the bigger mattress. It’s so plush from the blankets that any movement causes it to dip inward. But he has a mission, so he soldiers onward. He gets both knees on the bed and freezes as Geo turns toward him, blinking sleepy eyes open. “Cole?”
