Summary
Rumi asks Celine if hunters kill all demons. Celine does not say, “No." She does not say that the hunters will spare the half-demon, even if she has patterns, because she is Rumi and she is a person.
Celine says, “Cover those up,” and says “You are not like them Rumi.” She tells Rumi that she only has patterns because her dad was a demon and the Gold Honmoon will erase them. Neither of them says that Rumi is not a demon.
Celine says, ‘You can be fixed’ and Rumi hears ‘You can be spared, if you are fixed.’
What Celine tells her is she is different from them, but not different enough.

Summary
When Mira was a teenager, desperately seeking a way out from her controlling, overbearing, miserable family, she met a weird and also very famous lady. The weird, famous lady spirited her away (Mira took a cab, but whatever) to her not-at-all sketchy retreat in the mountains and told her she would become a famous Kpop idol and also a supernatural demon hunter who would defend the world from evil. Or else.
This, understandably, changed her life and her understanding of herself completely.
The other thing that did that was Rumi.

Caitlyn considered her theory, tucked her camera into her pocket, and then announced confidently, “I’m afraid Hector Signora was almost definitely murdered. Poison, specifically.”
Vi snorted, folding her arms over her chest. The leather of the dark jacket she was wearing creaked, obviously straining against large biceps as they flexed with the motion.
Caitlyn side-eyed her playfully. “You doubt me?”
One side of Vi’s mouth – lush, dark pink and scarred at the edge of the upper lip – tilted into a sardonic, crooked grin. “Wouldn’t dare, Sheriff.”
