Soobin’s eyes meet Beomgyu’s, wide and intrusive, for the first time that entire ride. He inhales sharply around shards of glass, attempting to calm his nerves and thundering heartbeat.
“Beomgyu, when have I ever hurt you? Would I?” His voice is laced with sincerity, edged with solemn.
The letters strung together to form the shape of a ‘Yes.’ with his lips are dying on the tip of Beomgyu’s tongue, but in lieu of speaking, he snuffs it out with a brief shake of his head and a flutter of his dark eyelashes.
Soobin is calloused with a lurid love for camel blues and his red truck while Beomgyu is starry eyed and bruised with a mother-shaped death begging for him back to the riverbank.
