Summary
“Doctor Mohan, I need you to step up the pace. You’ve only picked up half the number of patients you should have by now, and if you are sick, you need to go home rather than pushing yourself here.”
She jerked to a stop, then turned towards him, shoulders squared and face full of disgust.
“Fuck you, Robby.” Her eyes flared in anger, and she stormed off into an empty patient room and ripped the curtain closed behind her.
Clearly, something was going on with Samira, and he needed to make things right, especially if he was the cause of her upset.
He walked towards the hospital room and knocked on the glass door before entering.
“Samira, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you by saying that—” Robby started to speak but paused abruptly when his eyes scanned the sight in front of him.
Samira was shaking, arms wrapped around herself as if she were cold. Her face was wet and splotchy with tears.
Oh no.
“Sweetheart, what’s wrong?”
“I’m pregnant,” she choked out in a whisper with tear-filled eyes.

“Because if I were softer with her, everyone would know.” His voice trailed off in defeat as he hung his head.
Brahms arched one single grey eyebrow, angling his head forward slightly as if urging Robby to continue on.
Robby looked up at the man sheepishly, embarrassment written on his face.
“...Everyone would know how much I want her.”

Rather than traveling, Robby uses his Sabbatical to finally go to therapy. Along the way, Samira and Robby both realize just how close they are and how much closer they want to be.
