Summary
“Georgie,” she whispered. He crouched down by her chair and took her hands in his. They were cool, small and fragile in his. He had loved her almost his entire life. Sweet, compassionate, kind, Marci, with her bright smile and ability to get along with everybody, her inability to see the worst in people. He struggled not to squeeze her hands too hard. He looked into her eyes, and he forgot how to breathe. He loved her. He loved her so very much. He didn't think he could survive without her. Her voice was suddenly very hoarse, and her eyes filled with tears. “I want a divorce.”
He stared at her, not processing what she just said. He looked deep into her eyes. Kneeling there, he remembered looking down into her eyes on their wedding day, holding her tiny, trembling hands in his, returning her brilliant, beaming smile with one far too small of his own. His heart had been pounding in his chest, he’d hardly heard the pastor’s words over the swishing of blood circulating through his ears, and to this day, it was the happiest moments of his entire life. His eyes darted back and forth between hers.
His chest ached knowing it wouldn’t be enough to make him stop.
“No,” he said simply and then stood.

Summary
My life is a mess.
It would be easy to blame all my problems on other people—crazy babysitting clients, a bad boyfriend, a low bank account—but that would all be a lie. The truth is I am my own worst enemy.
At least until I meet him.
Luka Rostov. Ice-cold. Cruel. Beautiful. Russian. Worth a billion dollars and a father to the sweetest most manipulative girl I've ever met. One who steals my heart the moment I meet her.
And from the moment I stand up to him on her behalf, he decides he wants only one thing. Me. On my knees. Begging for his touch. Curled up with him and his daughter on his couch as his live-in nanny. Relying on him for everything.
But I refuse to give in and let him bind me in his gilded cage. I have a boyfriend, and more importantly, I see exactly what Luka is—a sociopath who views everything as a game he can win.
Which means the only winning move is not to play.
Too bad Luka doesn't intend to give me a choice.- Language:
