Summary
“No, I—” Jon shifted heavily to one elbow and disentangled his other hand from the sheets, using it to grasp across the empty space between them. His eyes were wide and his voice was unusually thick. “Could you— I want—”
“Oh!”
Martin blushed at the misunderstanding. He kicked off his shoes, hurried his legs up onto the bed, and scooched over to join him under the covers.
“Right, of course. I’m here. I've got you.”

Long after they arrive Somewhere Else, Jon is laid up in bed suffering from the consequences of being dethroned as Pupil of the Eye, and gets thoroughly snuggled about it. Martin manages to say a few words about his own feelings and fears, and also gets snuggled.

After days upon days of being chased by guards, breaking up (in a manner of speaking), getting back together (sort of), and only narrowly escaping the palace library, Jhend and Julian retreat to the magic shop with the intent to briefly shut the world outside out. It goes very, very well.

Summary
He dreamt that he found her. He dreamt that she did what she'd done when Sovereign's leg had busted through the window of the Presidium, when he'd thought she'd died defeating the geth. He imagined her climbing over the rubble of the Presidium, ready to face to Council and ready to fall against him. He had his own leg in the dream as well and was able to lift her and help her to the medbay.
When he woke up his neck hurt in addition to his leg, and he pulled himself to his feet robotically. His cot was uncomfortable on a regular day- Faust had all but insisted he go up to the captain's cabin and make himself comfortable with her, but he couldn't now that she wasn't there.

Summary
Meeting Faust for the first time, he admittedly hadn’t heard a plethora of human names. He’d seen them written with helpful phonetic pronunciations in Turian from his fellow officers, but that was usually all they were; translations of perp names he didn’t care to know anyway.
Faou-st had been different and he’d caught himself turning it over in his mind, trying to make his mouth make the same noises hers did. He couldn’t— hell, he was pretty sure his vocal chords were incapable of even coming close— but he’d tried for a long time before giving up and refocusing on excuses to make her say her own name. He safely referred to her as ‘shepherd’, which wasn’t correct but could be translated.

He can hear the others join them around the fire, taking their usual seats as though it were just another night. It feels normal, feels like them, but even just knowing that they have taken the first steps to being more is enough to fill Noctis with joy, and he finds that he cannot keep the smile from his face.
[or, how Noctis learned to talk about his feelings and the boys all got three partners in the process]

Summary
Javik didn’t see a point in risking friendship, not when any friend you made could be twisted into a monster and aiming a gun at you in another moment- but sometimes he wondered if friendship was what Faust offered. It was an odd feeling that he sensed in her- she had no desire to exchange in contemporary pity and comfort rituals like she did with the others- hugging the purple Quarian and watching foolish vids, silent pull-ups with the James-human, romance customs with the turian...
It was different with him, because she didn’t have any interest in shielding him. "You know more about how fucked up this all is than I do- it’d be insulting for me to try and hold your hand and tell you everything's gunna be okay," she’d said. It was what led to the exchange they were engaged in.

Summary
“I still like the dress,” Garrus offered while the pot heated up.
“I still can’t believe everyone saw me in it,” she returned faintly. Falling several stories from a sushi restaurant down into some sort of maintenance tunnel followed by at least a half hour of gunfights wasn’t a great combination, and she was feeling it. “I tried to show up in my hoodie but the man at the door insisted that even Commander Shepard had to adhere to the dress code.”
“I’ll have to buy him a beer if he’s still alive,” he teased.

“First, I want you to ask me how stressful it is to love Commander Shepard.”
“Uh. How stressful?”
“I am painfully aware of every time you charge, use melee biotics, or are otherwise standing directly in the line of fire,” he said flatly. She laughed a little.
“That’s like… all the time,” she pointed out. He stared at her and she- “Oh.”

“I quit C-Sec to become a vigilante. Within the first five minutes of quitting I killed a guy- how is any of that by the book?” he asked, finally handing her the slurpee so he could find his keys. “Don’t drink that, it’s dextro,” he added quickly. She pulled her mouth away from the straw, wondering if she was ever just going to remember not to eat his food.
“I seem to recall a wide-eyed turian C-Sec officer looking down at me and tentatively suggesting that maybe we shouldn’t arrest Saren, but kill him instead!” she said.
“How does that prove your point?”
“I never planned to arrest him. Literally no one did but you.”

Summary
“I like it,” Faust said, and meant it too. She’d loved Tuchanka immediately upon landing (what seemed like forever ago, with Grunt and Garrus in tow), and she was even more endeared to it after blasting a Thresher Maw full with so many burn holes and scorch marks that its corpse was only just identifiable.
(She’d tentatively asked Wrex if it’d been overkill. He’d laughed and told her that they were krogan- no such thing as overkill)

Summary
She leaned over and found the angle far too difficult to actually see- his carapace was in the way, for one, and for another he was obnoxiously larger than her. He teetered on the edge of weirdly big, but made up for it by being adorable, so she forgave him for turian height and proportions and bought boots with thicker soles.
In this situation, however, any attempt to look over his shoulder at his face would require a mild amount of climbing and some creative rolling. If she got out of bed he would more than likely wake up- they’d been soldiers and mercenaries and galactic criminals by some standards, so neither of them slept very deeply.
She could grab his visor, though. He kept it on the shelf above the pillows, an easy reach upwards that could be done without jerking him awake- so she did, cradling it awkwardly in her hands. It was far too big for a human head, but she reasoned that she didn’t have to put it all the way on- just enough for it to tune to her optics.

“You drop out of Spectre training and now you’re quitting your job?” Talus Vakarian was a remarkably level-headed man, so when he started shouting at Garrus he’d known immediately where his father stood.
(The same place as always, sharply planting his flag on the opposite end of the canyon from Garrus and refusing to budge)
