“Is this going to become a habit?” Leon finally managed.

“Which part?” he asked, unbothered, exhaling smoke somewhere off to the side.

“This.” Leon gestured vaguely between them with the cup in his hand. “I’m trying to drink my coffee in peace. You’re interrupting me with unsolicited advice and smoke in my face.”

“Well,” he chuckled, tapping ash onto the floor without looking down, a well-practiced gesture. “I’ve been doing this for five years. I always end the night out here, one smoke, before I go home.” A pause. “So really- you’re the one interrupting me.”

Leon blinked, caught somewhere between annoyed and almost impressed.

“Not that I mind.” He finally added, smiling around the cigarette.

Leon S. Kennedy meets Chris Redfield at a NA meeting.

    Summary

Leon has become a master of the slow fade, a ghost haunting his own life until there’s nothing left but the sharp scent of whiskey and the hollow echoes of a man who stopped caring months ago. He exists in the spaces between memories he'd rather forget, pulling the shadows around him like a second skin.

Chris is the only one who refuses to let him vanish. Armed with a stubborn, quiet persistence and a refusal to look away, he remains the sole anchor in Leon’s drifting world. It’s a heavy, wordless vigil, a tug-of-war between Leon’s desperate need to isolate and Chris’s terrifyingly steady presence. In the suffocating stillness of what remains, they are forced to navigate the blurred lines of a bond that is as much a lifeline as it is a burden.

A study of the fine line between saving a man and breaking him further, navigating an intimacy neither was ever trained to handle.

    Summary

Leon was standing in his bedroom in nothing but underwear, the overhead light off and the warm glow of his desk lamp casting the room in amber. His closet was open. Three outfits were laid out on the bed - the usual crisis of a morning class he'd pre-planned for, jeans and a sweater and a flannel, all in varying shades of I didn't try that hard. But it was the underwear he was deliberating on.

He held up two pairs. Pale blue, lace-trimmed. Soft pink, cotton, with a tiny bow at the front.

His phone buzzed on the nightstand.

Unknown: the blue ones baby. makes your cunt look sweet. wear those for me

    Summary

Six months. One hundred and eighty-four days since he’d walked away. He knew the number exactly, even though he’d convinced himself he didn’t care.

Chris looked the same—steady, unshakable, like a damn statue carved out of stone. Meanwhile, Leon felt like cracked glass, splintering more with each day.

    Don’t look away.

    But Chris turned first.

    Or

Six months ago Leon walked out on Chris, thinking he was doing him a favor. Now they’re forced on a mission together, with emotions more dangerous than any B.O.W.
