Di dalam ruangan kos berukuran sempit yang hanya muat untuk satu kasur kecil dan lemari satu pintu, Wonwoo menghentakkan tubuhnya di atas cucuran keringat Mingyu. Di tengah peraduan kulit yang menggema di antara tembok tipis berwarna hijau diselimuti lumut hitam dan daki, ia merasa percumbuan ini tidak berarti.
Oleh gaji di bawah upah minimum per kapita, himpitan pekerja di transportasi umum, dan adegan bercinta di bawah temaram sorot lampu kuning bercampur jingga, Wonwoo bertanya, "Kita ini apa?"
Mingyu menghela nafas dengan berat. Di sela-sela putih yang berhamburan, ia memenuhi Wonwoo dengan cairan kental yang bahkan mampu mengguyur hamparan ladang sawit. Dengan suara serak bercampur nafsu terhadap rezim ia berkata, "Kita ini bangsa yang besar."

Satu windu telah berlalu dan laki-laki dengan mantel cokelat itu tetap setia berdiri di depan peron kereta, menanti kedatangan atau barangkali sebuah keajaiban. Hari ini Uppsala turun salju, matahari bersembunyi dengan malu. Entah andaikata kota di seberang lautan sana tiba-tiba dipenuhi salju dan dingin yang menggerutu. Namun, ia akan tetap menghadirkan ratusan surat tanpa balasan. Menemui Malang sekali lagi dalam surat-menyurat yang tak pernah berhenti.
Surat pertama, ada yang tertinggal di peti mati. Sebuah surat dan kematian yang makin dekat. Laki-laki itu membawa sepucuk bunga, menunggu sebuah berita atau secarik balasan pertama.
Surat kedua, ada yang mati hari ini. Sebuah cerita dan surat-surat lain yang terbengkalai di antara debu-debu serangga. Hari ini Uppsala telah usai, ia akan kembali ke tempat dimana hujan adalah teman, dan cerita lama yang perlahan karam berantakan.

Jakarta's air choked them even tighter. At least, they wanted this sun burned all those sinners of different sins.
In the world where a voice doesn't even matter anymore—murder of souls, bodies, and yet they're still blabbering prayers before sinning. It's weird how love can be a sin when blood of the innocents spilled all over the streets.

Summary
Bleary, disoriented, and still reeling from the aftermath of his heat, Sieun doesn’t expect to be greeted with the shocking news that Keum Seongje has been arrested for murder.
Seongje may be a lot of things – dangerous, reckless, and hardly innocent – but Sieun knows he isn’t a killer. And though Sieun is the last person inclined to defend a literal gang member, watching Seongje take the fall for a crime he didn’t commit doesn’t sit right with him.
So Sieun makes a choice. He lies.
