Summary
As soon as Jack registers that there’s a person-sized shadow huddled on the front steps to his apartment, he knows that it’s Robby. He recognizes the contours of the body backlit by the bulb which illuminates the steps: short hair disarrayed, limned with gold in the light; the line of his throat, starkly pale beside the soft thick darkness of his beard; the defeated slope of his shoulders under the same green long-sleeved shirt he wore during his shift. Jack slows his pace as he approaches. Robby must notice him, the only figure on the empty street, but he doesn’t move.

Summary
The one miracle to come out of all this was Benoit Blanc. Jud had assumed the detective would solve this case and move onto the next one, vanish out of Jud’s life with the same abruptness as his arrival. And he did disappear, often and swiftly, with few niceties or goodbyes.
But then a few days later he’d suddenly reappear: be it at hearings where Jud would have otherwise had to battle the tedium of bureaucracy alone, or online, posting statements to cushion some particularly devastating blows against Jud in the media, Benoit Blanc kept cropping up when he was needed the most.
Or,
An exploration of the "one year later" gap, from the moment the diamond falls from Martha's hand to the moment Jud pulls Blanc in for a hug.

Summary
“I’m surprised you’ve not met,” Ross said, as James stuck out his hand for Crozier to shake. He had big, solid hands, surprisingly rough with callouses. “We’re rather lucky to have him for this production. He’s a bit too good for us. Francis, this is James Fitzjames, that young baritone everyone keeps talking about.”
Crozier’s interested gaze cooled. His smile became a sneer. He opened his mouth and said, “The cover.”
