It was all Jamie could hear, the words didn’t even make sense anymore. Dating. Dating. Dating. Who was he dating? No one for so long. Not even a quick shag in a club bathroom.
“Roy.” He blurted out without thinking. A wave of ‘what’ went through the room, from Jamie to Roy, who mouthed the same word. What? “Roy Kent… is my boyfriend.” He clarified, because it was too late to go back. “We know how it might look, that’s why we kept it a secret, but… yeah. So not going back to LCA. Yeah.”
Then came the noises. The photographs. The eyes shifting from Jamie to Roy. And Roy’s shout, finally quieting the room.
“This…” Roy pointed an aggressive finger at them all. “is none of your business.” -

Summary
All of Roy’s careful avoidance and rationalizations and compartmentalizing exploded in his face in the most unexpected way–Jamie Tartt standing alone, hand clenched in a tight fist, his determined face crumbling into a wild look of uncertainty and fear. Roy felt that terrible, irrational reality scratching at his brain, tingling in his legs, pounding in his chest. That awful reminder that every second of every minute of every day he was forcing himself to forget what could not be forgotten. He became untethered from the anchor of denial, his body free to move across the room, to enclose Jamie in an embrace neither one of them could escape.

When Keeley breaks up with Roy after his spontaneous plans to whisk her away to Marbella for the summer, he makes the trip by himself, intent on forgetting about the break up as best he can through as much booze, tapas, and sunshine as one person can manage during one miserable summer. The last thing he expects is for his car to break down during a road trip up the Spanish coast, where he finds none other than Jamie fucking Tartt - who fell off the face of the Earth after his stint on Lust Conquers All - working in a seaside bar.
Post-season 2 AU where, after getting kicked off of Lust Conquers All, Jamie decides not to return to England or football.

He hisses through his teeth and winces in solidarity with the man. Roy just stares at him. Spiderman cocks his head and puts a hand on his hip as if to say well?
“Yeah yeah, come on then.” Spiderman trails after him, thankfully not dripping blood on the wood floors. Though Roy thinks he wouldn’t mind cleaning up the mess. “Spidertwat.” Spiderman laughs at that.
