Two months have passed since the fall of the Kuzuryu Clan, and since then, things have changed. Jolyne Brooks now must go off-world and reap souls for Lucifer, as part of her job as a Dreadknight. But things take a turn when she gets involved with that worlds politics, and finds out that there's more to her nature then she originally thought.
Back home, Hinata Hajime is tasked to guard Kirigiri Kyoko after obtaining his new status as The Ultimate Gunslinger, and becoming a part of Class 77 - B. Himself, alongside Nanami Chiaki, must ensure that Kyoko remains safe whilst they look into The Flame Cult, after Kyoko suspects that they are responsible for the destruction of the Kuzuryu Clan, as well as multiple kidnappings. What they find instead leads to nothing but pure and utter destruction.
And at the same time, Utsugi Kotoko is being hunted. But by what? By who? As the night draws near, soon, she will have to rise, and step out of the shadows to inherit a destiny worse than death itself. But hey! At least it'll be fun! Right?
