    Summary

He wasn’t great at reading signals, but everything about Ilya was screaming ‘hurt’ right now. Tentatively, Shane put a hand on Ilya’s bicep. When he, barely, leaned into the touch, instead of flinching away, Shane stepped a little closer and placed a hand on Ilya’s opposite hip.
“Hey. Talk to me. You’ve been so distant. What’s going on?”
After a moment, Ilya leaned forward to rest the top of his head against Shane’s chest. He still couldn’t see Ilya’s eyes, to try and read them, but both of them relaxed a bit at the touch.
“Is stupid. I - my head, sometimes. Gets stuck on sad things.”
“I know, baby. I get stuck all the time. You always help. Let me help? Please?”
Ilya sighed deeply, working up the nerve to speak, finally lifting his head to look at Shane.
“I do not like being a drawer.”

    OR

Ilya freaks out when he realizes how little space he takes up in Shane's life. Shane convinces him he's wrong.

    “You realize this isn’t new.”

    “This is absolutely new, Buckles.”

Robin wrinkles her nose, predictably, at the name. But he’s…this is a travesty. This is a…a criminal act. A crime against humans-named-Edward-Munson.

He cannot be bothered to attend to the delicate sensibilities of oversensitive lesbians who don’t appreciate his very clever nicknames.

“He’s not even doing anything,” Robin groans; “he’s just—”

“Breathing air,” Eddie sighs, doesn’t even bother making it sound like he doesn’t deep-down glory in that simple fact—and he can’t even make it a we-survived-multiple-apocalyptic-events sort of general appreciation of still being alive together. Or even a more-than-general appreciation for Steve Harrington, who Eddie thinks he might adore enough—reciprocated or not—to flay himself alive for.

Nope, this is 100% bonafide lusting. Eddie doesn't even want to pretend it's anything more.

    Or less.

    -

Or: Eddie thinks he's being perfectly subtle (in Steve's direct line of sight, at least) about how overwhelmed he is by wanting Steve Harrington.

Spoiler alert: he is thirsty on MAIN it's nowhere near that clean-cut.

“Wanna tell me why your uncle warned me to stay away?”

“Because he sucks,” Eddie says through a mouthful of pie. Steve doesn’t even bat an eye, he just stares expectantly at Eddie until he sighs and says, “The nurses want to chop it off.”

Steve’s eyes go wide. “What? Your leg?” He asks, his voice thick with alarm as he glances at Eddie’s heavily bandaged leg. “But I thought they said it was healing well and–”

Eddie waves him off. “My hair,” he clarifies and Steve relaxes against the chair.

    Summary

After putting his cigarette out, Hopper makes his way to the van. He grabs the handle and starts talking at the same time he yanks the backdoor open.

“Munson, you better not be dealing in there, or so help me God, I will arrest you–”

His words cut off abruptly when he gets a look inside the van.

Because the kid isn’t dealing, he isn’t even smoking.

    He’s straddling someone.

“Harrington,” Hopper says, crossing his arms over his chest. “Would’ve expected you to be smarter than to get caught like that.”

Brushing a hand through his messed up hair, Steve gives a shrug. “Got a little distracted. It won’t happen again.”

At that, Eddie's head snaps in his direction. “It won’t?” He asks in disappointment.

    Summary

“Shane says you are smart. You went to university before you were drafted, yes?” Rozanov’s eyes were twinkling again. He wasn’t Shane’s boyfriend right now, he was the Russian Menace.

“Yeah, I mean, I did two years. You didn’t go to college, did you?”

“No, so I have to do my own readings, my own studies. You must have done philosophy courses?”

Was Rozanov mining for chirping material? What the fuck? “I, no I took like…a writing seminar. And um, a civics course. Plus, like, math.”

Rozanov blinked at him, again. “Math.”

    “Yeah, math.”

“Oh. So you are a mathematician? You study calculus? Linear algebra? Discrete mathematics?”

What in the fuck is discrete mathematics? “I dunno, no. It was like, y equals mxb squared, or whatever. You know, algebra.”

“Algebra.” Rozanov’s eyebrows shot up his face. “Like for a child? American university gives you primary school lessons?”

    OR

Hayden Pike confronts Rozanov about his relationship with Shane. It doesn't quite go as he expected.

“But sex is not always just sex, no? It is physical, sure, but it is also about feeling desired, feeling useful. Is common with people who have many partners but is problem even with exclusive couples. I, um, I have not read the English translations but Simone de Beauvoir talks about tyranny of devotion, no? It can be a trap to feel so needed?”

“I–what?” What the actual fuck was Ilya Rozanov, the Russian Menace, talking about? Was he being for real right now?

    “After my mother died–”
