She'd done this before. She could do it again.
The walker got close and she charged, hitting it with her shoulder the way Vernon had taught her to move cattle when she was twelve. The walker went down hard and she went down with it, knee driving into its chest, hands scrambling for the rock.
She brought it down on the walker's skull. Again. The skull cracked. Again. The skull caved in with a wet crunch and the walker stopped moving but she didn't stop, couldn't stop. She kept bringing the rock down with both hands because she was so fucking tired and so fucking lost and Gran was dead and Sarah was dead and Vernon was alone on a farm she'd never reach and she was never going to be safe, never going to find anywhere, never going to--
"Ain't gonna get any deader."
The voice came from behind her. Male, Southern, cutting through her spiral.

A story about falling in love with Daryl Dixon, but realllllly, really slowly and (hopefully) realistically. This chaptered story spans the entirety of the Walking Dead TV series, and perhaps extends into the time period in which Daryl travels to France, Spain, and beyond. It's sweet and romantic and takes quite a while for the good stuff to get started, just like it would with the real Daryl Dixon. If you want to truly immerse yourself into the TWD world and re-frame the entire thing around what a romantic relationship with everyone's favorite archer might be like, this story is for you.
