"You're an addict."
"A what?" The seriousness of Matt's tone was almost as astounding as the words he had spoken. Usually there was a edge to even his most sombre of confessions, his inability to be actually vulnerable without picturing how it looked from the outside and turning it into a joke made it so they had had very few earnest conversations that didn't end with Matt begging to break the tension with ill-timed references and plots pulled from thin air. It was a little scary to hear him sounding so solemn about something so otherwise ridiculous.
"An addict. You're addicted to porn." If it was embarrassing to hear, it was twice as embarrassing to say out loud. The look on Jay's face would have been funny in any other situation, his bugged-out eyes and comically gaping mouth would have told Matt that he was on the right track, he was saying something so outrageous that he must have been treading new and exciting ground but he didn't want to battle with Jay to be taken seriously. "Don't try and deny it, I've already looked through your browser history and it's disgusting, Jay. It's— I'll admit it. I'm worried for you. You've got a serious fucking problem."

Somehow, Matt has become an adult before Jay. He goes on runs, lifts, cooks at home, reads, takes more than 2 showers a week, goes out on the weekends, does his laundry consistently. It drives Jay crazy. It's not fair. He goes back to sleep, pulling the covers over his head, hoping that maybe he'll disappear.

“Step one!” He exclaimed, writing on the board as he spoke. “We…get…married.” He pressed ahead, leaving no room for interruptions. Jay’s melody eased into something a bit slower, lighter, guiding Matt’s words.
“Step two! We go to the Rivoli…we say ‘Hi we just got married and this is our reception. Oh look, here comes the wedding band now!’ But OH-WHAT’S THIS?
Step three! SURPRISE! We ARE the band!” Capping the marker with a triumphant snap, Matt wheeled around to face Jay who had wrapped them up with a few joyous notes that sounded like the morning sunshine flooding their living room.

He wants the whole thing to be over, but as it turns out, messing with time is far more trouble than it's worth and things aren't quite right just yet.
Stuck repeating the same day over and over again, Jay learns many things: about time, about Matt, and about himself.

“Because you have no game, man! And it sounds to me like this whole plan is relying on us having game!”
Jay bets Matt he can't bring a girl back to the apartment before him. Don't ask how this is supposed to help them book a show at the Rivoli.
