A reminder that he wasn't alone - that he wasn't destined to live forever in the shadows, silent and isolated. That somewhere out there was the other half of his soul.

    The glass was impossible for Peter to break, but he could still hear through it. He could even kind of hear the voice coming through the comm device in the guy’s ear.

    “Buck? Talk to me.”

    Peter recognized that voice, but his brain was too fuzzy to pinpoint it. The tests that the scientists had put him through hadn’t been too horrible so far, but the constant triggering of his Spidey sense had overloaded all his heightened senses. It was hard to retain anything through the migraine, as if words were pouring around the sides of his brain and sliding off.
