“And the woman? Any lead on her?” Jason asked, as the pale figure reached for Bruce. His chest burst open moments later, blood trailing the blade of her knife.
“Of what woman do you speak?” Damian was quick to answer.
“I’m talking about the one who stabbed him. Obviously.”
The call went silent.
“Jason, what woman?” Babs asked, sounding a little afraid.

Summary
Despite it all—even in his worst, most depressed state of mind—Jason can't ever picture Bruce falling apart this way over him. It's not something he thought about before, but now that he does, he can't see it in any other way. He knows, somehow, that even on his first day without Jason, Bruce's clothes were still freshly laundered, neatly pressed, folded and tucked in all the right places—if he even wore civvies at all.

Bruce makes sure the surprise at the question is not evident on his face, “I don't,” He answers heavily.
Peter closes his eyes with a slow and deliberate movement, disappointment evident in the way his shoulders relax in defeat, “So you're not my dad, huh?”
“No, Peter,” Bruce confirms gently, not sure why the truth feels wrong, “I'm not your father.”
The boy opens his eyes, expression full of grief and eyes a blazing gold flecked with green, “My name's actually Jason.”
