__Max is a fantastic handler of the GT3. Charles probably is too, but being a passenger is another thing. Number one most horrifying experience of his life, and all he got out of it was an hour of stargazing with the man he loved most in the world.

Daniel pauses, in shock at the quiet words spoken in an even quieter room. He’s only pulling his underwear up his legs after a shower, Charles is still stark naked in bed with his knees drawn up. He’s looking out the window at the night sky, arms wrapped around his legs in a vulnerable way.
“But sometimes I wish you didn’t,” Charles admits, his voice cracking. “I wish you could look at me and see something other than a second chance. I wish you could see me for who I am.”
“Charles,” Daniel says, walking over to the bed where Charles’ gaze is still directed to the sky. His body is shaking slightly. Daniel doesn’t know if it’s from tears or the cold chill in the room. “I see you. I do.”
“You don’t,” he says firmly.
