Summary
Clorinde has heard it said that in Fontaine, rainwater washes away the people’s sins.
Three years ago, Champion Duelist Clorinde faced Callas Caspar in a trial by combat and dealt the killing blow. In the years that follow, wracked with guilt, she's forced to watch as her friendship with Navia slowly falls to pieces in her hands.
Three years later, it seems like Navia has moved on. Clorinde tries and fails to do the same.
But fate, as it happens, has an entirely different idea in mind.

Summary
Guizhong is the Lady of Death, whose sole duty is to ferry the souls of those who die at sea to the afterlife.
Zhongli is the fresh-faced Navy recruit she fished from a shipwreck out of pity and guilt.
By all means, they should have parted and gone their separate ways, never to meet again. After she had seen him off at the docks of Liyue Harbour, he should have vanished from her life forever, disillusioned by the reality of life at sea. He had instead told her they would meet again.
And he was right.

Summary
Clorinde does not coddle Navia, and so Navia does not coddle herself. She resigns to her fate. She keeps her feelings boxed up. She is the next boss of Spina di Rosula, and she is not soft, no matter how softly her heart aches.
or: Navia misses a dose of her suppressants and experiences her first heat in years in front of Clorinde, who she’s having a very difficult time pretending to hate.

Neuvillette gives his final verdict. The defendant is found guilty of her crimes. Per protocol, he offers her the chance to fight.
“I want to duel,” the defendant says, eyes cold and blazing.
Neuvillette nods.
“Monsieur Savinien,” he calls out.
“No.” The girl’s words are curt. Her eyes scan the crowd until they land squarely on her. “I want a duel with Clorinde.”
(There is never any satisfaction when her duels end in executions.)

I know we were having disagreements about where to go for Friday’s date, so this is how it shall be decided. You are to pick your weapons of choice. I have taken stronghold in Poisson, equipped with my own arsenal. Should you tag me with a dart, we shall go try that new limited-time menu of Escoffier’s. Should I tag you, we will see Furina’s newest film.

“I would have liked any photo of you,” Clorinde assures her. Navia is quiet on the other end, and Clorinde sighs and embarrassingly adds, “I like to save any picture you send to me. I think you already know that.”
“I do,” Navia says happily, and Clorinde hears more shuffling. “Did you save this one?”
“No,” Clorinde says. She clears her throat. “Was I…?” allowed to? she meant to add. Meant to, even? But somehow it can’t climb out of her throat.
Navia giggles. “Save anything you want,” she says, almost cryptically. “It’s all yours.”
Or, Navia picks up on how pent-up Clorinde’s been lately.

Growing shy but happy, Clorinde asks, “Does this mean you—that you accept my proposal?”
She winces. She shouldn’t have phrased it like that, per se, but—
“Of course I do, silly!” Navia insists. She breathes in the buds of the flower. “I already forgave you, y’know—there’s no need for you to prove that you’re the most wonderful friend. But this is such a sweet surprise. Thank you.”
Or, Navia misunderstands Clorinde's courtship and proposals.
