Summary
This fic is a collection of three one-shots: one is Steddie, one is Byler, and one is Ronance. They are all based on a post by @lycheenotes on twitter: "do u wanna touch knees later while we're sitting down and pretend to ignore the fact that we're touching knees" and I just couldn't decide who to write about since the entire show is consuming my brain so I figured why not do a snippet for each.
These are all technically separate one-shots but can be read as part of the same world if you like! They take place vaguely around 1986-1987 (post s4) but since its obviously canon divergent anyways you can kind of put it whenever makes your brain happy.

But he couldn’t. He couldn’t do any of those things. He couldn’t bloody well admit to James that he liked him, it was awful enough just feeling it. So instead he accepted it and resolved to move on.
Something easier said than done, as it turns out.

“So, about this new intern of yours,” Johnnie says as she smooths her skirt out. When Reed peers at her curiously, she waggles her eyebrows. “Is he cute?”
Reed laughs good-naturedly. “Sorry, Johnnie. She’s, well — a girl, but perhaps you’ll get along anyway.” He perks up when someone rounds the corner. “Oh, there she is now.”
The girl that emerges is the most disheveled person Johnnie has ever seen. Her lab coat is at least two sizes too big. Her glasses are askew, smudged, and do little to hide the deep bags under her eyes besides. Her dark hair is short and choppy, like she cut it herself. In the dark. With a pair of craft scissors.
And yet somehow she’s still kind of cute. Fuck.
Johnnie’s not sure how to feel about the fact that she finds Reed’s new intern cute, considering they’re both girls. Luckily she still has Spider-Man to moon over.

“Sure you weren't. It’s not your fault that Potter looks ridiculously fit when he plays football; I’d be staring too if you didn’t have a weird claim on him.” Before Evan could say anything else, Regulus gave Evan a not-so-friendly push off the bleachers.
