Will Byers – the sole survivor of the Stillwater Serial killer – has spent most of his adolescence locked within the safety of his own home, or rotting away in hospitals and police offices: constantly pushing to see justice served, in light of his near-death experience at no older than eleven. Five years pass, and it is not until his brother returns home from New York that he gets a taste for a normal life. With enough convincing, he leaves the ghost town of Roane County and moves to All Saints Academy in Vermont, where he is yet to face a brand-new beginning, starting with three enigmatic Dungeons and Dragons players, and ending – hopefully – with a clean school record slate. Right?

Summary
Four years. It had been four years since Henry had saved him.
Will Byers had spent the last of his teenage years living in the Creel residence, welcomed in by the ever so kind Henry Creel, his savior from that fateful night. Ever since, they had found peace in living together in the special home Henry had created for the two. Away from all the monsters, away from people, away from everything that could ever hurt Will.
But once evidence of Will's past slowly resurface, he begins to question the differences between what Henry tells him and his ghastly visions. Little by little, Henry's perfectly curated reality falls apart, and Will stands conflicted at the cross lines, struggling between escaping from the nightmare or purposefully ignoring all the warning signs to continue living in the supposed perfect dream Henry had offered to him.
In the midst of all of this, a certain boy remains cemented in Will's mind, refusing to be left behind as just another one of his missing memories. It's up to Will to decide if he chooses to seek them out, or let their past be lost forever.
Aka, a Will Byers + Henry Creel/Wiseone centered fic with Mike, the DL, Wheeler haunting the narrative.

Summary
Every instinct screamed at him to move, to pivot hard on his heel, trap the gun arm, shove the barrel off line, and go for his own weapon before the other person could react.
His body had already begun running the motions in the back of his mind, but something in the angle of the pressure against his neck stopped him.
The barrel wasn’t level. It wasn’t aligned straight across the base of his spine the way it would have been if the shooter stood at equal height.
Instead, it pressed slightly upward. Whoever held the gun had to lift their arm higher than natural to reach him. The geometry was wrong for a grown soldier. Hopper kept that detail filed away, muscles locked in place, forcing himself not to move while his mind quietly adjusted the picture of the smaller person standing behind him.Five years ago, Will Byers vanished in the Upside Down.

Mike and Will are taken by the military who take a special interest in Wills powers. While Will is subject to experimentation, Mike does everything he can to keep Will safe.

"Will!" Mike crashes to the ground next to him. Gets a good look at him.
Wills eyes are dazed slightly. They latch on to Mike anyways and he seems to sag with relief. The blood from Wills nose falls onto his lip. Into his mouth.
"That was- that was amazing!" Mike brings his sleeve up and wipes the blood away. He opens his arms and lets Will collapse against him, head resting on Mikes chest and Mike doesn't even think twice about how intimate it should feel.
