Before today, Vox would’ve never said that he felt intimidated by the moth.
But now? He was fucking terrified. The principle on which their relationship was built got destroyed together with his image. Before this moment, both Valentino and Vox knew if one of them pulled the trigger, the other would follow, and all that would be left would be death and destruction. Mutual annihilation in its perfect sense.
Except now, Vox no longer held any power, and Valentino was painfully aware of it. Nothing good could come from the look Vox saw in the other’s eyes.

In the center of the ruin stood a figure Mydei had trouble describing, its presence contrasting on all fronts. Heavenly monstrous. Paradisaically abominable. Rapturously damned.
