Arthur is the perfect flatmate -- he pays his rent on time, works so much that he’s not even home half the time, and is totally okay with Merlin’s magic. It was all he felt at first, and he wanted to double over with it, to scream that this couldn’t be either fair or true. Merlin couldn’t be a sorcerer—he just couldn’t. But it soon dissolved, and Arthur’s feet were steadied by abrupt smoldering rage, blinding the familiarity of the boy in front of him.
“Are you going to kill me, Arthur?” Merlin asked, a bittersweet smile on his lips, with the tip of Arthur’s sword flashing at his throat.
