Summary
A continuation of my story, ‘A Path Unfolding’
Ki’hari, daughter of So’lek and Tamtey, is all grown up now. Or so she believes.
Ki’hari teetered on a dangerous path; one carved by blood, loyalty, and the expectation that she would never hesitate.It is interrupted by an exiled Mangkwan girl, who keeps crossing that path no matter how many times Ki’hari tries to leave her behind.
The Mangkwan are not to be trusted. They are to be killed swiftly, without question.
But there is something about this one.
Something that keeps Ki’hari suspended between vengeance and curiosity; between what she’s been taught, and what she’s beginning to feel.

Summary
Tamtey asks So’lek about a very… delicate topic. Courting, Mating, Bonding. All things that he should have no issue answering. That doesn’t stop him from feeling nauseous at the thought of them touching someone, being with someone, wanting someone. As much as he admires Itu, the thought of his hands on them makes his throat squeeze and his hand reach for a knife.

Tamtey clasped her hands together, but she could not hide the slight tremor. “It means—” She swallowed heavily. “It means to take one’s own life.”

“You always turn your head away.”
So'lek's hand paused for a moment in Tamtey's hair, which he was unconsciously combing through.\
“What are you talking about?”
The woman raised her head slightly higher on his chest, her green eyes fixed on his golden ones, as if she wanted him to see comfort in them before she finished her thought.
Because it was comfortable, she didn't want to ruin it. Not now, when the waterfall was murmuring quietly in So'lek's hideout, when the furs given to them by Kame'tire were warm from their own naked bodies and enveloped their heated skin like a hot herbal tea on a cold day, and Tamtey could feel his strong heartbeat under her hand.
And yet she couldn't remain silent.
“When you talk,” she said. Barely louder than a whisper, as if she were afraid that anything louder would shatter the moment into pieces. “You always turn your head to the left.”
