“Don’t get your panties in a twist, just gonna put some music on.” Before he even finishes speaking Koyama picks a song at random, making it clear he’s not asking for permission. He paid for the thing after all, he can use it how he wants—and today he’s using it to alleviate the boredom on another tedious drive to their next assignment.

I lay my ill intent upon an object until it gains…an aspect of use.” Sakurai pauses, gauging how to phrase it. “But of course, another common focus of a curse is a person.” A beat as he waits for it to sink in, and sure enough Muraki’s eyes go larger than he’s ever seen.
“You…cursed yourself.”
With the upheaval of his life as a Scar and Claw's dissolution, Sakurai resolves to finally put his past behind him. The past, however, has other plans.

Sakurai pulls back to look him in the eye, now close enough that the warmth of his breath grazes the scar torn across Koyama’s face. He holds his gaze a moment, all cool calculation, before a faint smile curls on his lips. The kind some poor bastard might see right before the man’s katana comes down.
“No.”Sakurai tries out a new toy. Koyama gets a test in patience.
