But the kid that John's got by the arm, who's pulled as far away from Dean's dad as possible without actually trying to get his arm back, the kid whose eyes don't leave John and are bright with fear, the kid who looks like he hasn't eaten in a couple of days and is obviously favoring his left leg...
This kid looks an awful lot like a person. And what's more, he's the same age Sammy would have been.

Summary

Summary
Set season 11, post Red Meat, Pre Hell's Angel. Sam and Dean have a lot on their plates. Another world-threatening apocalypse on the horizon, their best friend and angel running around, possessed by the devil, and the promise from a reaper of a much more permanent death. But when people in Minnesota start falling into mysterious comas, the Winchester's put all of it on the backburner and set out to save people and hunt things... only now, they might be the hunted ones. Summary
Dean didn't get paid nearly enough for the job he did. Purchasing Lucifer's Prom Dress with the money he had set aside for his missing brother and then traveling across the country with the Boy with the Demon Blood riding shotgun had to be worth more than credit card fraud could provide.
Sam didn't get paid enough, either, but he wasn't as picky as Dean. He just wanted a family and a place to call home. Maybe a break from the constant state of terror he lived in. He knew he had no right to want that; he was a stupid, disobedient, useless freak of nature who disappointed every owner he ever had, but... maybe just one thing? Just an older brother to get in between him and his nightmares; one who might, if Sam was a very good boy, call him Sammy and give him hugs. That would be nice.
Yeah, that would be more than enough for Sam.
