Summary

Summary
Less than one percent of the population are mutants.
There are over 6 billion people on the planet. That means, theoretically, there should be thousands of mutants on Earth. Yet, Charles Xavier had only found a handful at this point.
However, every program must start somewhere! His school currently has five kids enrolled: Warren Worthington III, Bobby Drake, Hank McCoy, Jean Grey, and Scott Summers.
As their training progresses and they enter their late teens, the Professor finally asks the question: where are Earth’s mutants hiding?
With the Professor’s psychic enhancement device (he’s calling it “Cerebro,” and the kids find it dorky) still being developed, it’s up to this group of teens to find the mutants hiding across the planet.

Summary
Rahne realises, a little too late, that her hands have gone all long and clawed and furry, and that her sharp nails are digging into Dani’s palms. The buzzing in her ears grows. She nearly recoils- but Dani clenches her hands tighter and looks her dead in the eyes. “I- Rahne, I’m fine, you don’t need to get the Professor, just- it’s- the bond, Rahne, just listen.”
Rahne listens. She can hear something unexpected. Something… uncomfortable. Something that really, really shouldn’t be possible.
“Dani.” She says. “Dani, why can I hear two of you?”
(OR: Rahne and Dani- from fifteen years in the future- get thrown back in time to the heyday of Charles Xavier's Institute for Gifted Children. Between ominous warnings, powers going on the fritz, and increasingly poor interpersonal relations, things are looking south for the New Mutants. And, as Illyana becomes increasingly ensnared in the ramifications her own past and the threat of her future, it's going to take all hands to save her. Even if they don't want to.
