“C-Coiny—” she started to say, and then she burst into tears.
“Uh—Pin!” He stared at her for a moment, evidently unprepared for her reaction, then set the rocket back down in the box awkwardly and crawled across the bed. “What—what’s—”
“Why,” she repeated. “Wh-why do you do this?”
“What? Do what?” he asked, a little frantically.
“Love me,” she sobbed. “Care about me. Make—make shrines with my stuff s-so you can remember me—what is wrong with you?”
“I-I told you not to get mad—”
“I’m not mad.” She tipped over into his arms and he wrapped them around her immediately. She was practically sitting in his lap, her face crushed into his shoulder. “I’m not mad. How… how could I be mad? You—you don’t have to love me this much.”
“I can’t help it.” He smoothed his hand up and down her back and laughed. “I love you this much because it’s easy. I mean, no pressure, but you’re kinda everything to me.”
“Please don’t let go,” she said, pressing her palm hard where his hand was holding her waist. “And kiss me.”
