Summary
“When you were young,” Kaine said. He couldn’t look directly at Peter as he said this, staring instead at his reflection in the nearby window, where the darkness outside and the flickering candle flames threw strange shadows across both their faces. “When you were young, at Hanukkah, there was some sort of – a toy, right? Like a top. It was wooden. Parts of it were painted blue.”
Like Ben’s hoodie, he didn’t say. Blue had always been a difficult color for him, making him want to be different in the strangest of ways.

Summary
The door swung open and Flash came face to face with someone he never thought he’d see again. Kaine Parker stood there, taller than the last time Flash had seen him. Taller even than Flash now, but just as beautiful as ever in that certain stubborn way that belonged to all the Parkers.
If Flash thought Kaine was the most beautiful of all his siblings, then that was his problem. His long hair was caught up in a low bun, his clothes were dark and tight, and he was holding a duffel bag full of cash.
It took Flash a moment to catch up to that last part.

“What kind of monster?” Johnny asked.
“I’m not sure yet. A friend of my father’s from his Olympian days called in a favor. Apparently nobody’s been able to get a good look at the thing. And since everyone knows I’ve traveled with the fearless Fantastic Four…” He pointed at Johnny with a fry. “You know, anyone else would have asked ‘why’ first.”
