I saw a post on tumblr suggesting a crossover where Murderbot meets Sam Vimes, and I couldn't not write it. Behold:
Murderbot, randomly pulled into the metropolis of Ankh-Morpork, must figure out how it got here, how to get home, and what the fuck is going on in general. Meanwhile, Sam Vimes of the city guard is hot on the trail of a suspicious-looking case at Unseen University—or at least he would be if he didn't have the baby at home to worry about...
I love TMB and Discworld so much, so I tried to make this as newbie-friendly as possible. If you're coming for the Discworld, the Murderbot stuff is supposed to be as understandable as possible, and if you don't know Discworld at all but love Murderbot, hopefully it still makes sense.
This is set after Exit Strategy but vaguely before Fugitive Telemetry; on the Discworld side, it's somewhere in between Night Watch and Going Postal.

Summary
Upon waking up in the future, Steve is given many things: an apartment, a job at SHIELD, and (most miraculously) Bucky, revived from the ice just like Steve himself.
But there's something off that he can't quite figure out. Steve's work at SHIELD seems counterproductive and strange. There's a political uprising that he thinks is connected, but no one will acknowledge it. There's an infamous assassin that Black Widow knows, but refuses to tell Steve about. And he can't tell if Bucky is behaving strangely, or if maybe, he never knew Bucky as well as he thought he did.
Or: the one where the Winter Soldier goes undercover as Bucky Barnes to keep Captain America under control.

Brown eyes snapped towards Hank. The android’s face twitched, momentarily, before smoothing into something more neutral.
Hank gawked at the passenger in disbelief. "You seriously can’t speak."
It shook its head, a couple of tiny jerks, before fixing its eyes back towards the dash.
