He was out here, away from campus, to be alone, damn it, not to deal with the gloating of a smug know-it-all prince.
"Look," Leona said anyways, ignoring Jamil's words, "I don't wanna say it, but…"
"Who do you think you're fooling?" Jamil grumbled sullenly, but Leona powered on as though he hadn't heard him.
"I fuckin' told you so."
Jamil groaned into his hands. The sunset was not a sight beautiful or peaceful enough to get him to deal with this. He was leaving. He was going back to school, going back to the unsubtle glares and whispers and pointing fingers, the sharp cut of a sudden hush that told you exactly what- exactly who- the abandoned conversation had been about, the narrowed eyes and barely disguised contempt, how could he, how could he, that ungrateful little snake-
Perhaps Jamil was being a bit hasty in leaving.

The skin tone, though only slightly lighter, belonged to a completely different sort. “Master Al-Asim,” he choked out, dropping into a low bow as he registered the man at the door.
The man didn't dignify him with a response, each moment of silence twisting deeper in Jamil's gut like the jagged edge of a blade. He didn't dare speak, not with the burning fire in the man's eyes. Something had displeased him, and Jamil found himself the sole focus of that fury. Finally, Master Al-Asim huffed through his nose, jerking his chin toward the door.

“I mean,” says Hiro, and flashes Rei another grin, “He applied?”
“What do you mean, he applied?!”
Rei may have spent years travelling with the hero’s party- both to defeat the lich Karasuma, and to bring Hiro back from the dead. But none of it matters, not one bit. When it comes to Akai Shuuichi, Rei still has no forgiveness in his heart.
So he’s not about to let the man swan in and win his hand in marriage.
