"You can call me Doc, then."
"Doc?" Legundo's face scrunched up. "That's a profession. Not a name."
"It's a name." Doc confirmed. "Even if it wasn't, you wouldn't know what else to call me."
"...Alright. You're Doc. Do you know why we're here?"

"You're not fooling anybody," 4C says with a sniff. He isn't even looking at him, studying his own nails. "We all know you won't bother."
"Maybe I should," Nom says. "I can talk to Scott. He… he'll understand."
"But why bother? Talking won't fix what's wrong with you."
"Because I can't talk to you."
That gets his attention. 4C turns a withering look on him. "And whose fault is that?"
It always comes back to this, talking to the ghost. "I still miss you," he says, twisting his fingers together so he doesn't reach out for him. He hasn't quite hit that low, yet. "I wish you could be here."
The ghost scoffs, and then Nom is alone again, to brush the crumbs off the table and stand with a sigh.

Nom’s eyes normally passed for brown, just slightly too orange to be natural. But tonight, on some random point in the field of time, his irises were painted in blood.
Nom was thirsty.
“…Hey,” Katie started carefully, one hand inching toward her heart as she took a slow step backwards, tentatively watching her speed.
Her brother blinked and tilted his head the other way, like he was trying to settle something in his head. “Hey,” He replied.

I threw the Bannerfall cast into the Vampires setting. Nom is a vampire, Katie is not—and she finds Nom hungry in the woods. As his sister, she won’t let him not eat, so she drags him home. They resort to drastic measures.

The image of Louis seeing him off as he was dragged into the depths of hell is burned into Owens mind. That alone - the knowledge that he's broken the heart of the only person hes met that was worth a damn - must have been considered enough of a torment that he got to skip the whole "tortured in the eternal inferno" thing.
Owen wakes up to find Oakhurst has been reset to the day he initially woke up from his nap. No blood has been spilled, no fires have been started - everyone is fresh on the land and completely unawares of the horrors that await them. To rub even more salt in the wound, Abolishs cure for vampirism followed him, and he was once more forced to live in his accursed human body.
Well, not that Owen cares, really. Hes done his time. Hes played this game once, and he couldn't even say he walked out satisfied. Let the humans and the vampires fight and kill each other - hes perfectly content to live out of sight and out of mind of those wretched people. He doesnt need their company, and it's not like anyone will notice or care if hes absent, besides.

Exploring crypts is a great way to find all kinds of things. Alchemical recipes, spells, bones, colds. However, this time he's found something new - a book meant for vampire abilities. He's curious, it's the first one he's managed to get his hands on that wasn't going to be burnt. It'll be perfect for Cleo or Apo, but first he wants to get a proper look at it.
This changes everything. He might not be a vampire, but he's not really fully human anymore either.
He should- he should probably figure that out.
