I may or may not be crying over this absolutely beautiful fic with Pining Pax front and center, being the very definition of "Let go, fall, and I will catch you" for Devi (and Devi being an adult version of her hothead teen self, saying "I don't need you to catch me, bonehead" but being caught by him [and turning it on him, catching him] over and over anyway). I love the realism of them fighting at first and then falling into a rhythm of being basically a couple anyway. It's masterful writing of this pairing, and it was only the first season when the author wrote it! OP's amazing characterizations aren't even based on the whole series! Now that's talent.

Summary
Enemies to lovers was fun for Devi to sigh about as a pre-teen, was even more entertaining to watch in movies with Pati and Kamala and her mom. It was exhilarating to live out in real life, in high school and in college, when it felt like the perfect time to get wrapped up in a cute boy who didn't really hate her… but instead loved her back.
But there's just something about easy. And something about the quiet happiness that comes with being around a friend who was never only that. And something about how the grittiness of growing up does little to harsh the glow of a tender childhood crush.
Or maybe those are just things about Paxton Hall-Yoshida that will never quite go away.

I wish we lived in this fic's universe, instead of this one. This is AMAZING; it was so good at keeping them in-character while shifting them so they're not homophobic and the show isn't and it lets that Dean/Cas-esque Dmijay~ chemistry play out as it should (and their own, tbh). The back-and-forth of the show setting up Dmitri/Jay while Misha/Jensen was so nerve-wracking and tension-filled and 'we're not going there' was just WONDERFUL. (Also the sex was outrageously hot AND realistic, goddamn, that's skill!!!)

But the OOC!Meg almost ruined it. Never thought I'd ever have to worry about that from this author. :/
(Note to self: Canon-compliant except insofar as Sam/Kevin--Sam is straight--and Meg ever verbally caring about Cas being raped apart from jealousy and his well-being apart from what he can do for her.)
