Summary
When he opened his eyes, Shadow was on top of him, pinning his arms and legs and breathing hard. He’d caged him in and taken the full brunt of the fallout – effectively cocooning them in a mess of steel bars and dusty inventory – but he barely looked ruffled. Sonic stared up at him – his eyes, the flush to his cheeks, the little hint of fang he could see as Shadow panted – and a thrill shot down his spine to pool in his hips. He tried to move his arm but Shadow’s grip just tightened.
“Caught you,” Shadow said, low and breathless.

In all his time careening through shatterspaces, Sonic had never met another Shadow.
Until now.

Summary
Months ago it wouldn’t have mattered to him who he was with as long as they could give him what he needed without any unnecessary questions. He hadn’t really had a type, per say, besides maybe an attitude and a tendency to get mouthy. And a respect for discretion. A mutual understanding that whatever happened that night was for then and then alone. For a while, that had been enough – a side of himself he kept completely separate from every other facet of his life and occasionally indulged in.
Then Sonic found him.

Summary
“Hey hey wait, hang on, one second-” Sonic dodges the following swing with wide eyes and says “Geez, wait a second! I wanna ask you for a favour!”
Shadow says “I don’t do favours, especially not for you.” But he slows, hovering at the edge of their chosen space.
And Sonic’s grin widens, and he says, “But you’ll like this one! Promise!” He edges closer slowly, just into range, “You just need to kick me as hard as you can with the bottom of your shoe. Like, here, on my ribs.”

Summary
Sonic snickers, and, because he can, he bends his head and digs his teeth into Shadows neck and shoulder. He expects Shadow to cuss at him, swearing and kicking- Instead, Shadow’s scent almost thickens in the air, and Shadow whines, back arching under Sonic’s paw.
Shadow’s teeth click shut.
Sonic mostly hears Shadow whining like that when Sonic’s buried between his thighs.

Summary
They're working on it, but no matter how good they get at communicating and asking for what they want, it all ostensibly still flies out the window for Shadow the second they start having sex.
Or, not having sex - Sonic’s not exactly sure what’s happening right now.
“Aw, don’t be shy.” He coos, “Do you want me to touch you?”
Sonic guesses there are worse things to be woken up by compared to Shadow politely asking if you want to get off.
